Chapter Text
Cecilia was a ball of nerves, nerves that would not calm down. This is because the time was upon her. The time she would confess her feelings to Gigi. She scheduled a call with Gigi to talk about something 'serious' but that was all she gave the target of her affection. As she sits at her computer, anxiously waiting for the scheduled time to arrive, she can't help but think back on all the moments that lead to this. All the time she spent with Gigi in Japan, staying over at Gigi's house before All for One, going on a road trip with her... All of it, alongside Gigi's infectious positivity and whimsy, had caused Cecilia to fall for her... hard.
*Ding-a-ling Ding-a-ling*
The incoming call causes Cecilia to panic; she spent all her time reminiscing and didn't go over what she would say to Gigi. Nervously she answers the call and is met with Gigi's beaming smile on the other side. Cecilia's nerves begin to melt away as she looks at Gigi's calming features.
"Hi Cece!!!" Gigi calls out with energetic hand waves.
"Morning Gigi. You're pretty energetic this morning?" Cecilia responds with a soft smile.
Gigi notices Cecilia's anxious nature and decides to reel in the enthusiasm. "Yeah, I'll be honest, I was kinda excited for this call. I almost couldn't sleep thinking about why you wanted to have a 'serious discussion'."
“Right, about that. I guess I should just go ahead and say it.” Cecilia lets out a big sigh and gulps down the lump in her throat as her next words come out shaky. “Gigi I- I think I’ve fallen for you… Romantically.” The call goes silent. Seconds pass, but to Cecilia it felt like years.
“Wow, uhh, that’s surprising to hear…” Gigi’s eyes darted around the place, unfocused. Cecilia could feel another lump form at the back of her throat. “How long have you felt like this?”
Cecilia immediately assumes the worst; she believes she’s not going to get the answer she’s hoping for, but decides to keep up her facade. “I’d say our road-trip is when I sort of knew.” She says, trying her best to hide the fact her world has been shattered.
“I see…” Gigi trails off taking in this odd situation. “Look Cece, I- I don’t really know what to say right now, and I think I need some time to think about my answer for you.” Gigi replies hurriedly.
“That’s ok Gigi, I know I sprang this on you and it’s kind of a big thing.. Just- Just please think about it.” Cecilia says with a smile that doesn’t reach her eyes. Something that Gigi notices.
“You got it! I’ll give this some serious thought, just… wait for me.” Gigi answers, trying to lighten the mood.
“Well, I’ve got to head to bed, it’s kind of late here in Germany.”
“All good Cece. Have a good sleep!”
And with that, the call ends. Cecilia goes to bed with a heavy heart, and Gigi is left with the whole day to think about this turn of events. She lets out a heavy sigh and ponders her options.
Quite a few hours pass, and here Gigi is, sitting in an uncomfortable seat, with a loud baby crying nearby, as she tries to collect her thoughts and think of a way to respond to Cecilia’s confession. And now she’s only an hour away from when her plane lands in Germany…
WHY THE FUCK DID I BOOK THE FIRST FLIGHT TO GERMANY!!! I COULD HAVE JUST THOUGHT OF A RESPONSE OVER THE PHONE!
Gigi yells at herself internally, but she’s ignoring the fact that she still doesn’t have an answer for Cecilia's heartfelt confession. Gigi knows that Gigi-mane is probably freaking out right now, trying to get a hold of her, but she chooses not to think about that right now.
The plane finally lands, and it’s a rainy night as Gigi hails down a taxi and gets a ride to Cecilia’s house. Throughout the car ride, Gigi is still considering what to say to Cecilia and just can’t figure out her own feelings. It wasn’t long before the taxi arrives at its destination. Now, here Gigi is, standing at Cecilia’s front door, the door of the person who confessed to her, mere hours ago. The door of someone Gigi doesn’t even know how to face properly over the phone, let alone in person, the door that is soaked in as much water as Gigi. She rings the doorbell and takes a couple steps back, stopping at the base of the steps.
Not even a minute passes but it feels like an eternity. As the door finally opens, Gigi is met with puffy red eyes, with green irises. Eyes that look like they’ve been crying. Eyes that are tired, and have had the emotion drained out of them.
To Gigi, it’s as if everything freezes, everything in her world disappears. Everything except Cecilia. The cold rain hitting her skin, the black of the night behind her, the warmth emanating from the room behind this gorgeous lady in front of her. In Gigi’s eyes, it may as well have never existed.
“Gigi! What are you doing here?” Cecilia’s face shifts from one of exhaustion, to one of concern. Concern towards her unexpected guest.
Cecilia stands there, staring at this stray at her doorstep. All she can do is stare, and wonder what insane thing Gigi has done to lead to this moment. Wonder what she will do next.
Gigi wordlessly stumbles up, standing on the same level as Cecilia, and they peer into each other’s eyes. All Gigi is thinking about in this moment is how beautiful Cecilia looks, illuminated by the light from her warm home. Without thinking, the blonde pulls Cecilia into a kiss. Their lips meet and Cecilia lets out a soft gasp. For an instant, they both forget about everything in their lives. All that matters to them is right now…
They break the kiss, with their lips hovering the slightest distance apart. Cecilia can feel the heavy breaths that slip from Gigi’s mouth. The air is electric and both of them are in a daze. A daze that one of them needs to break out of.
“Oh god Gigi! You're soaked.” Cecilia snaps back to reality, “come inside before you catch a cold!” Despite her flustered nature, there’s a sense of care behind Cecilia’s words. Something that doesn’t go unnoticed…
