Summary
“I’m not gay.”
Three words that Buck knew were coming. Three words that stole the breath out of his lungs. Three words that summoned bile to rise up his throat, shocking up a memory of coughing up blood on Bobby and Athena’s back patio. Three words that made him want to sob.
“Eddie-”
“I’m not gay,” Eddie interrupted, looking at Buck in a way that he imagined when Josh told him about the horror stories of growing up knowing you were queer.
“I’m not gay, Buck.”
And Buck looked back, knowing his eyes were watery.
“I know.”Or
During the quiet time of a shift, the topic of secret-keeping is brought up. Buck brags about the fact he’s kept a secret from all of them (for a long time too) and no one even knew. That only spurs the team to find out that secret- leading to some self-discoveries for them all.
