On the moonlit planes of Narukami island, just outside the warmth of the city light, wind swirled around the two wanderers, gently clashing as though their visions subconsciously interacted. The light breeze that came from the traveler in red maple clad carried the song of an airy flute, playing a melody that those local of Inazuma knew all too well. His ashy white hair gently swayed as the wind ran its fingers through it. He was calm as he sat, gazing upon the fields and enjoying one of his many peaceful nights that he’d never take for granted again.
Unbeknownst to him, he had caught the gaze of a wanderer in the garbs of a monk, donning an elaborately decorated kasa hat who was standing silently a ways behind him, his eyes heavy and bearing the guilt of hidden sin. Only one of the men would remember committing this ancient deed that would weigh on his heart forever, and only one had suffered its consequences.
The young man wearing a hat silently and slowly moved towards the music of the flute with a stirring mind and uncertainty carving away at him, closing the distance between them before he was a few steps away. Solidifying his resolve, he decided to speak, giving away his chance to quietly escape back into the comfort of avoidance. His voice rang in the silent plains, crisp as a sapphire bell.
“…Enjoying the breeze tonight?”
With a calm and undisturbed demeanor, the light haired traveler turned to reveal his face. He had familiar smile that squeezed the wanderers heart with the harsh hands of guilt. The man’s gentle face and calm red eyes proved the light haired man’s innocence, and the large hat of the wanderer casted a shadow over his own unrecognizable expression.
After a moment, the smiling man with maple patterned garbs spoke, his voice light and airy as though it was a part of the serene scene around them.
“Would you like to join me?”
