So unfair, it's unfair.
Why not him?
Why him?
He caught a glimpse of light above the surface, the moon, it was peeking through and seeping into his cheeks. He saw shadows above him, but he couldn't tell who they were.
His sister? Aang? Dad?…some goddamn spirits?
or; what if Sokka and Zuko got stranded and had to survive? Are they gonna work together even as sworn enemies?

Summary
Sokka was never told to leave and protect Yue. Instead he stayed on the mission with Hahn to invade the Fire nation ship even after he told them the uniforms were outdated. This leads to him being thrown off the Fire Nations boat for being an obvious imposter.
Zuko never made it to the pond, or aang. Instead Zhou is told of his plan and sends a soldier to follow him. When he stopped the soldier attacked him, knocking Zuko out and leaving him there. As the tide rises he is pulled into La.
Sokka is dumped by the tide at the very same place La has taken Zuko.
Forced to help each other in order to survive the harsh climate of the North pole and make it back to their family's. Families who think they are dead.
And maybe learn a little bit more about each other along the way.

Summary
Sokka isn’t stupid. Not that his sister is, mind you (at least, he’d never call her that to her face now that she’s honed her waterbending), or any of the rest of Team Avatar, although sometimes it feels like he’s living in a different world from the rest of them — a world where running out of food means starving, and walking into a town full of firebenders with the Avatar in tow will get you killed, rather than help you free a beaten-down Earthbender colony.
Anyways.
Sokka isn’t stupid, which is why he laughs directly in Aunt Wu’s face when she tells him that he will marry the Fire Lord.
