Work Text:
The away team had beamed down a mere two Earth hours ago, but since then, the harsh midday sunlight had melted into a cool twilight. Sulu was still studying some plant specimens, Spock taking tricorder readings of miscellaneous insects and substances.
And Jim?
Jim was busy pretending to mind his own business looking at some pretty flowers. But in reality, his gaze kept drifting over to his First Officer. Tall, handsome, immaculate Spock… who was currently sniffing a little red flower.
“Fascinating,” he remarked.
“What is it, Spock?” Jim wandered over. Sulu glanced up but remained where he was.
“This flower smells similar to the incense I use for meditation.”
Spock was about to hand it over to Jim when suddenly, he straightened up, eyes widening. He blinked and took in a deep breath, posture softening as he breathed out. The flower slipped out of his hand, and Jim stepped on it as he rushed forward.
“Spock! What happened? Are you okay?”
Those deep brown eyes studied the Captain’s face with a newfound interest, head tilting to the side as he appeared to be taking in Jim’s appearance for the first time.
“Sulu, contact the Enterprise,” Jim hissed. “Make sure they’re ready to beam us up if necessary.”
“Aye, sir.”
Meanwhile, Spock’s fingers reached out, brushing against the thin fabric of Jim’s gold Starfleet uniform, just above his bicep. Jim almost shuddered. This was definitely not normal for Spock.
“Fascinating,” the Vulcan murmured, voice low. “Your pupils have dilated by approximately 15.9%.”
Jim’s breath caught in his throat. He opened his mouth to reply, but lost the ability to construct sentences when he caught Spock’s gaze drift to his lips. It wasn’t until Sulu coughed that Jim remembered where he was and what they were doing.
“Mr Sulu, please have Scotty beam us up. Tell him to have Doctor McCoy ready to examine Spock. Clearly he’s ingested something.”
Sulu opened his communicator and complied. But Spock paid no attention to that. All he was doing was staring at Jim like he was a piece of meat he wanted to devour. Alright, maybe not meat. Maybe a nice vegetable. But still, Jim couldn’t help but feel he was being pulled apart simply by having Spock’s eyes on him.
Before either of them could say anything further, the familiar disintegration process began, and the next moment, the three officers were on the transporter pads inside the Enterprise. Doctor McCoy stood beside the platform, hypospray in hand, eyes trained on Spock.
“What’s wrong with him?” he turned to Jim. “He’s watching you like your his dinner.”
The moment McCoy took one step towards Jim, Spock bolted. He intercepted the doctor and positioned himself in front of Jim, blocking anyone else from accessing him.
“Mine!” he snarled.
“Jesus, Jim! What’s gotten into him?” McCoy stepped back. Even Scotty looked concerned.
“I don’t know!” Jim said, trying to find a way around the Vulcan. But the second Spock realised Jim was trying to escape, he spun around and pinned Jim to the bulkhead.
Jim shuddered. Spock’s warm body was pressed up against him, chest to chest, almost forehead to forehead. Those elegant fingers were now wrapped around his wrists, keeping them stuck to the wall next to Jim’s thighs. But to make things even worse (or maybe better?), Spock moved his head to bury his face in the crook of Jim’s neck.
“H-Hey!” Jim squirmed. “Spock, what are you— Hey! That tickles!”
An involuntary laugh bubbled out of Jim as his crew stared at them both in a mixture of concern and horror. He could barely even gasp for help through his giggles.
Then Spock lifted his head back to look Jim in the eyes.
“T’hy’la,” he spoke hoarsely. “Your laugh… it is intoxicating.”
“Well, that’s one way of complimenting a guy,” Jim mused, glancing at Bones and trying to gesture to him with his eyes that he should approach Spock from behind.
“But it is not as intoxicating as your scent,” Spock continued, leaning back down. This time his nose brushed Jim’s neck, and the Captain felt the shift in the air his First Officer took a deep breath. Spock hummed in approval. Or maybe it was a groan?
Whatever it was, it went straight to Jim’s groin, stirring up a reaction he couldn’t afford to have in front of his senior officers — or any officers, for that matter.
“Spock!” he hissed, praying McCoy would sedate him soon.
“Mmm?”
“Ohh,” Jim sighed, unable to help it. He was sure his face was as red as Scotty’s shirt by now. Luckily, Bones had been able to sneak up behind Spock with the hypospray.
“T’hy’la, I have waited,” Spock murmured. “… waited so long for you…”
“What?”
“Every day… your eyes… your smile… your scent…” The Vulcan’s words became less and less coherent as he succumbed to the sedative. “Mine.”
And with that, he slumped against the Captain, out cold.
