“I suppose that would be correct, yes.”
On the bed, McCoy has fallen silent– though Jim can see him watching with apt attention from the corner of his vision.
Spock hesitates for the briefest of moments. “And as such, it would be improper if I were not the one to lead our interactions for the evening.”
Jim pauses, with Spock’s fingers still wrapped gently around his wrists. “I’m afraid I don’t understand.”
“He wants you to be his trophy husband,” McCoy says flatly. “Isn’t that right, Spock?”
Spock turns his gaze to McCoy, with his expression carefully neutral. He tilts his head. “I am unfamiliar with the phrase.”
McCoy snorts. He downs the rest of his drink. “You want him to be quiet and obedient. Just a pretty thing on your arm to show off.”

Summary
His preoccupation isn’t his fault. It’s very much Spock’s. When Jim gets lost in the middle distance and misses a ping on his comm? Spock’s fault. When Jim gets so caught up in a daydream that he brains himself on a bulkhead? Spock’s fault. And it’s not even just a Jim thing. Anyone in his situation would zone out fifty times a day. It’s not like his efficiency is declining that hard either (fifteen point nine one percent, reportedly; could be higher) so he’s more or less decided to pat himself on the back for not being worse about it.

Jim lifts his and Spock’s arms into view of the camera. “Yes ma’am.”
“Really?” The Admiral says in a tone of unabashed curiosity.
“I can assure you, ma’am, we are not doing this for recreational purposes.” Spock says dryly.
...
Or the one in which Jim gets hit with Sex Pollen TM, but Spock doesn't like his consent dubious so politely declines.
Luckily, that crisis is averted. Unluckily, Jim and Spock realize they have been left unable to go without touching for more than a few minutes without excruciating pain.
