Kyouka and Yosano were in the infirmary. Kyouka had approached Yosano with some questions about biology, and Yosano had lit up and wheeled out a whiteboard to sketch diagrams on for the girl.
Using a laser point so she didn’t smudge the marker, Yosano pointed to things on the board as she talked, and Kyouka listened with rapt attention, nodding along and occasionally asking a further question or humming in understanding.
A knock at the door startled them both, and Yosano raised her voice to call whoever knocked in. “Come in!”
The door opened, and Atsushi peeked around the doorframe, looking at Kyouka. “Hey, me and Junichirou are gonna head downstairs for lunch, are you c-” He abruptly cut himself off, eyes flicking away from Kyouka and toward something near Yosano. The woman blinked, then had to suppress a laugh. Atsushi’s pupils had contracted and he was gazing intently at the laser dot still aimed at the whiteboard.
She moved it slightly, giggling when Atsushi’s gazed stayed trained on it. She did this a few more times before Atsushi shook his head and blushed.
“Hey!” he said, his tone accusatory. He huffed. “Ugh. Like I was saying, Kyouka, are you-”
Yosano flicked the laser over to the wall next to Atsushi’s head, and quick as a blink one of his hands shot out and slapped against the wall before he raised it just slightly to see if he caught it. Yosano broke out laughing, and even Kyouka looked amused. Atsushi’s eyes flicked around the room, trying to find the red dot, before closing them and groaning.
“Stop that!” he pouted. Kyouka giggled, and Atsushi looked at her with betrayal.
“You’re uninvited to lunch,” he announced with a pout, exiting the room, and the girl tried to suppress her laughter.
“Nooo, Atsushi-kun! Come back, I’m sorry!”
Yosano just cackled.
