Work Text:
Min-Gi and Ryan walked around an outdoor mall when the earth rumbled, shaking the ground. Min-Gi grabbed Ryan. “Earthquake. We’ve gotta find cover,” he said. Ryan nodded and they dashed towards the nearest store. Tall lamps lined the streets, shaking dangerously. Right as Min-Gi was about to reach the door, the base of one of the lamps cracked like a gunshot and toppled, landing on Min-Gi’s leg. Agony tore through him.
“Min!” Ryan exclaimed, horrified. He tried to lift the lamp, but it was too heavy.
“Get inside,” Min-Gi ordered.
“I’m not leaving you,” he stated, his mind made up.

Ryan paced, opening and closing his fists. As promised, he hadn’t left Min–though Min had insisted that he should go inside, that it wasn’t worth Ryan’s life, the earthquake hadn’t lasted long anyway. But now Ryan waited for Min-Gi to come out of surgery. His leg had been crushed and the doctors couldn’t save it, so they resorted to amputation. Things were going to look very different for him and Min from now on and he was terrified. This was the biggest change, the worst thing that had happened to them. All he could do now was stick by Min.
