Chapter Text
“Mommy, why am I called a Golden Omega?” A tiny voice asked, with equally tiny hands clutching golden robes with a solid grip. The man in the elegant attire hummed, gently rocking the small boy in his arms.
He brought a tanned hand to the boy's forehead, brushing his hair aside and pressing a kiss there. “Why? Well, isn't it obvious? You are the most beautiful jewel in the swirling sea.” The man said with a wide smile, causing the child to giggle and squirm and not notice the sad look in his eyes. “Now, it's time for bed.” He surveyed the boys room one last time, eyes scanning every inch of the clean, pristine room. Bright white walls with gold trim, peach accents and curtains; unfit for a child. Elegant furnishings with gold wood, white cushions and expensive lamps; fit for royalty.
The man frowned and stood from the chair he had been seated in for the past hour, calming the young boy from a nightmare.
He moved towards the oversized bed in the middle of the room, setting the boy down amidst a pile of blankets and pillows. “Goodnight, Mommy!“ The boy sang, giggling at the other.
The man smiled, whispering. “Goodnight, Jimin.” He walked to the open door decorated with stickers and doodles, the only thing to represent the innocence in the room, and left, closing it with a soft click.

Jimin slowly opened his eyes, staring up at the ceiling. The same ceiling he's been staring at since he was a baby. Well, since he was 3 but that's long enough.
Being in the same room gets a little boring after a while, but there isn't anything he can do about it now, not after already spending 15 years in one of the largest and most renowned omega training facilities in the country. “Training" facility is kind of a stretch since no actual training happens. The owners of the facility just raise the omegas until they get auctioned off to power hungry people and having a pretty omega to hold your arm is just part of the luxury.
Omegas, regardless of status, are expensive. They are priced and “branded" at birth, robbing them of any childhood they could have had.
Jimin hates it all.
He hates the facility, he hates the “shows", the creeps who stare at him too long, and he hates the price over his head and body. It's times like these that he wishes he could have been born a Beta, even if they are treated as the lowest form of a person.
Who he doesn't hate, are his parents. They aren't his real parents, but they both tried hard to give Jimin a normal childhood, raising him with tender love and care and giving him as much as they could in between his training. (Training consisting of learning ettiqute and how to be obedient but not brain washed.) The maids and butlers treated him delicately, like royalty. They were up his ass every day of his life and he only gets progressively more and more annoyed.
Sir Jimin, wash your hair with this shampoo, it'll make it even softer.
Sir Jimin, bathe with these oils, it'll help make your skin smooth.
Sir Jimin, read these books to help with your studies.
Sir Jimin, please stop holding the baby pigs. Where did they even come from?
When does it all end? It has only gotten worse since he became of age to be shown off in the omega showings. The shows happen every year at facilities all over the country- no, the world. Everywhere you see the famous celebrities and princes or princesses with a new charm hanging on their chain. It pisses him off; he's not an accessory. He is a person, not someone you can flaunt while holding the chain attached to the collar on his neck.
A knock on the door startled him from his thoughts, the door openning and revealing his mother. He instantly felt relief wash over him.
His mother not stood at the end of his bed, hands on his hips and a scowl on his face. “Park Jimin, why on earth are you still in bed?! The showing starts in two hours and you need to be in your robes as soon as possible!” The older omega growled, scurrying to the other side of the room to his robes.
Jimin turned onto his right side, facing the closed curtains over his window. “What if I don't want to do it…” He grumbled, causing the elder to sigh. He felt the bed dip slightly on his left and a hand rest on his arm.
The man spoke softly. “Jimin, we've talked about this. I know how much you hate the idea of this but… it's what we do, isn't it? We just… do things we don't want to in hopes for something better, right? God, I hate watching this happen every year but… its just the way things are. I'm sorry…” Jimin felt his temper flare. Just the way things are? No, they could be fighting back and taking a stand against what society thinks is right. So why aren't they?
“Mom, why haven't you done anything to change it, huh? You're the same status as me but you have more power. Why do you say that like there isn't anything we can do?” He sat up, brushing away his mothers hand and growling at the older man.
The omega’s expression hardened. He stood from the bed, hands resting calmly at his sides. “Do you think I haven't tried? I was your age once, I thought the same way you do now. Listen to me, Jimin. Omegas don't hold any more power than a rock on the side of the road. Alphas are the owners of businesses, property, money and omegas.” The elder paused, taking a deep breath before speaking again. “Yes, I am the same status as you. Yes, I hate the fact that I will have to let you go, and do this again next year.” He paused again. “But at least you will be taken better care of. You will be loved and cared for more than you can imagine. I can feel it Jimin. There is someone good for you that will be at this show. Just… know that you are always welcome back here… back home.” The elder said, leaving without another word.

“Hey, the show starts in two hours. Let's get a move on it!“ The tall, brunette man laughed, shoving the other, smaller blonde out of his office. “You’ll find a good omega this year, hyung. I can feel it!“
