Summary
It only took him a few moments to reach his destination for the night. The corridor widened to make space for a narrow staircase that led into the basement tunnels but that was not his point of interest. Opposite the stairs was an ornamented wooden grid which served as a wall and secret escape door, it seemed massive at first sight from the inside of the chamber but was just a few inches thick, covered by a thin curtain to conceal the corridor behind.
He quietly shoved the curtain to the side before he began his nightly watch.
