It’s been one year since Charles got on one knee and proposed to Niko.
It was Ikki’s B-day and they were at a Birthday party at their house for him with all they’re close friends from NEL.
Niko was waiting in the living room ,while talking with Kurona, for his boyfriend that he oh so loved. Tough, said boyfriend was nowhere to be seen.
Charles was in Niko’s and his bedroom, sitting on their queen bed while practically sweating bullets. He was looking down at the box in his hand, in that box was the very ring he was going to use to propose to Niko with.
”Calm down Char-man! Niko will love the ring you chose, im sure of it!”
Shidou was in the room with Charles, he was the one to help him with the proposal plan after all. Since Shidou was married to Sae for nearly 3 years now-Charles decided it’d be good to ask him for advice. Sae had a role in it too but only to make sure Shidou and Charles don’t go overboard and overwhelm Ikki. It was against his own will though, since Charles knew he couldn’t control himself around Shidou, he asked Sae to help him too so that he and Shidou don’t do anything stupid or too drastic.
“Besides, you’d most likely be able to crack him later like i did with Sae-“ “Shidou! Not the time” “Sorry, sorry! Im just saying though~”
Charles sighed and rubbed his temple “I’m just nervous…what if he doesn’t like the ring i chose, or worse- Rejects me!”
Shidou looked at him as if he were to be a complete idiot “ Are you kidding me? Niko would never reject you, he’s too inlove with you”
Charles looked up from the box and at shidou, then looked back down and whispered “I hope you’re right…” just then, a knock came from the door
“what are you guys doing? Ikki’s about to cut the cake! Hurry up will you?” Sendous voice came urged and excited
“Yea yea, we’re comin’” Shidou turned back to Charles and said “Well, no time for your pitty party, cmon now! Its just about time you propose”
Charles sighed again and got up from the Bed. He closed the box and tucked it in his back pocket before opening the door. They walked out of the bedroom and into the Living room where they saw everyone gathered around Niko, who was standing infront of a table with a strawberry shortcake plated on it and the words “Happy 25th B-day!” Written on top.
The blonde smiled faintly at the scene showcased infront of him.
Niko looked so happy in that moment that Charles just wanted to kiss his cute face until he was certain that Niko knew how much he meant to Charles.
Charles went up to Niko and whispered “Sorry for the wait mon amour” before kissing Niko’s cheek.
Niko replied with a smile and said “its no big deal”
Aiku came up to the cake with a lighter and lit up every candle.
Everyone started to sing happy birthday,with bachira sounding extra excited and isagi having to remind him to not be to loud.
At the end of the song, Niko blew out the Candles but was confused when he looked back up from the cake and saw everyone looking shocked at the spot besides him.
The spot where Charles was supposed to be standing.
Ikki,concerned,looked at the spot that everyone was staring at and he gasped and covered his mouth with his hands.
Because there- there was Charles on one knee while holding up a black-navy box with a wedding ring inside of it.
The ring was silver and had tiny diamonds on every side with a few teal essence, and in the middle ,there was a slightly larger diamond.
“Charles…” Ikki could feel tears starting to build in the inside of his eyes.
Charles let out a breath that he didnt even know he was holding in and started his speech
“mon cherri, ever since the first day i saw you, I knew you’d be the one. I always imagined our future and how i would propose to you, because i had to make sure you’d be mine. Your always so confident and loving. You’re the only person who can light up my day in an instant. Whenever i see you , all my worries just wash away. You’re always there for me, no matter what. So know, i want to be there for you , forever and always. So Ikki Niko…”
he looked at Niko’s eyes with pure love that no other human dared to show Niko “will you marry me?”
Niko couldn’t believe his eyes. Being proposed to by the Love of his life.The person whom he shared so many memories with. The person whom he’d been on a roller coaster of emotions throughout the years with. And the person he’d soon be able to call his beloved husband.
Through happy tears he replied with “yes Charles! Yes”
Charles immediately smiled impossibly wide , got up from the floor and hugged Niko, who does the same.
Everyone around them started to clap and cheer , even the itoshi brothers were slightly smiling. Shidou was yelling “THATS MY BOY!” While putting his elbow on Aiku’s shoulder, who was wiping away a fake tear before clapping.
Charles abruptly kissed niko before taking his hand and putting on the ring after taking it out of the box.
“Oh Charles…it’s beautiful! I love it.” He looked back up at charles with streakes of tears covering his cheeks “i love you”
“ i love you too, mon amour”
They pressed their foreheads together before kurona came in the way to examine the ring.
If it were to be anyone else- Niko and Charles would’ve been annoyed, but kurona was a close friend to both of them, so they didnt mind at all. While kurona, and now sendou to, were examining the ring, charles just went up to bachira who was yelling at him to “come here”
Kurona took niko’s hand and said “wow, charles really knows you well, the ring is-
A perfect fit”
