Summary
Harry wasn't stupid, as much as the Dursley's had told him before, the world wasn't kind. Especially to people like him. Small, scrawny, and clearly in need of some love, his life revolved around doing grueling tasks for his "family".
When he woke up that morning, it was to silence. The world was in a stand-still. There were no birds, no neighbors peeking out of their blinds, and most of all, no Dursleys trying to force more work on him. For the first time in sixteen years, he was able to wake up without someone screaming at him.
But peace was a strange thing—too still, too heavy. As the hours passed and no one came home, the quiet began to feel wrong. The news confirmed it: something terrible had swept through the country, twisting people into violent, unrecognizable things.
By the time Harry realized the danger had reached his own doorstep, it was too late.
