Work Text:
Lollipop was relaxing on the couch of the Have Cots tower, in between exhausting challenges during the ladder half of post-split. Leafy had been pacing in and out of the room for about 15 minutes now, words spewing faster than what Lollipop's brain could register. The idea of rest was tugging at her lightly, but not enough for her to justify taking a nap. It was just after lunch, sure, but she wasn't that tired. Besides, Lollipop knew she wouldn't be sleeping with Leafy making such a ruckus.
Meanwhile, an exhausted Teardrop, who had pulled an all-nighter the previous night, was simply looking for any place she could find that was comfortable enough to rest. It sucked for her, she struggled sleeping when she wasn't comfortable, and it was hard to get comfortable. Still, Teardrop searched, simply looking to rest. She had noticed Leafy pacing around the Have Cots tower, entering in and out of the main living room.
Following Leafy, Teardrop entered the living room, spotting Lollipop relaxing on the couch. Now, sure, the couch wasn't perfect, nor was it the most comfortable, but it would suffice. Teardrop had secretly slept on the couch more than her actual bed, but her exhausted brain just hadn't thought about the couch up until now. And, sure, Lollipop was there, but that hopefully wouldn't hinder Teardrop from sleeping.
Lollipop quickly noticed Teardrop's presence, especially as the silent droplet tried (and failed) to pull her exhausted form onto the couch. Lollipop helped Teardrop up, and whether as thanks or simply due to exhaustion, Teardrop laid down partially within Lollipop's lap, and partially on the couch. It was really cute, Lollipop had to admit it, and Teardrop looked so at peace, and was snoring already- oh she was already asleep. That was... very fast.
Leafy walked back into the room, after pacing out of it once again, loudly complaining, "How do I even tell him that the whole ignoring me thing wasn't cool! It hurts so much, and yet he never listens to me! As soon as I walk up to him, he walks away!"
"Shhh..." Lollipop hushed Leafy, pointing out Teardrop fast asleep.
"Oh, sorry," Leafy quieted down, "I'll let her rest."
Leafy walked out of the room, lacking a return. With the quiet, the allure of simply relaxing pulled more and more at Lollipop. Fully leaning back into the seat, Lollipop gently ran her hand over Teardrop's sleeping body. A faint smile tugged at the very corner of Teardrop's lips, but other than that, there was no reaction. Out like a light, Lollipop didn't want to wake Teardrop.
Lollipop found any thoughts she could have formed slowly melt away, as her eyes grew heavy. She found herself feeling more in-sync with the sleeping Teardrop, but it didn't register. The claws of sleep had grasped on her at last, as Lollipop closed her eyes, dreaming of endless days spent with Teardrop. Lollipop didn't want to wake up from those dreams.
