Summary
Eddie’s feet slip on the wet grass beneath him, the pleasant scent of petrichor filling his nostrils, even though he can’t appreciate it. He’s always loved the smell, loved being outside after a fresh rain, the aroma of the earth being reawakened surrounding him. Tonight, though, he doesn’t have the time to relish it.
Instead, he runs, his heart pumping wildly in his chest as his feet carry him deeper into the woods. Loud steps follow behind him, crunching sticks and twigs underfoot, uncaring and unafraid.
It’s Buck. Sort of.
