For all that he was inexperienced, Madara wasn't entirely clueless—he was a grown man, so of course did he know the logistics of intimacy in general and the broad range of preferences that could be attached to it, ever differing from person to person.
Madara just hadn't expected his own tentative preferences to be so far from the commonly discussed norm.
