Work Text:
It’s past life and all the cabin crew members are at their base.
Scott, Etho, and Bdubs are in bed and Scar is taking a quick shower before he goes to bed too.
Scar steps out of the shower, drying off, putting a pair of oxer and pajama pants on before he goes into the main room.
He brushes out his long brown hair, making sure it’s untangled before he braids it into one long braid down the middle of his back.
The vex hybrid moves with taps of his cane against the ground, to his bed.
He lays down, about to go to sleep when a quiet voice fills the air.
“Scar?”
“Yeah Etho?” Scar asks, wondering why the fox hybrid is not asleep yet.
“Can I sleep with you tonight?” Etho asks from his bunk above Bdubs.
“Of course.” Scar says, a soft smile evident in his voice, “Come on down.”
Scar hears a quiet creek as Etho climbs down the ladder next to his bed, careful not to wake the glare hybrid below him, starfished in his own bed, a foot handing off the side of his bed.
He sees the faint outline of Etho in the dark before the bed dips as Etho climbs in, laying on top of Scar.
The fox hybrid lays, resting his cheek on Scar’s chest.
“Hey.” Scar says in a soft whisper.
“Hi.” Etho replies, pressing a light kiss of Scar’s chest, right where his ribs meet in the middle, his sternum.
Scar reaches up, running his hand through pure white locks, scratching behind fluffy arctic fox ears.
He feels Etho’s tail flicking against his legs, clearly enjoying the ear scratches.
A deep rumbling purr starts in Scar’s chest, a fond smile on his face.
A creek comes from the bed above Scar as Scott shifts in his sleep, mumbling something softly before settling again.
Scar chuckles, continuing to run his hands through Etho hair as the fox hybrid continues to press little kisses to his rumbling chest.
After a bit, Etho presses the last kiss to Scar’s chest before settling with his cheek resting against the vex hybrid’s chest.
“I love you.” Etho whispers, curling his fox tail against Scar’s leg.
“I love you too.” Scar says, pressing a kiss to the top of Etho’s heart, closing his own eyes before drifting off to sleep.
