The New Wars
Book 1: Line Drawn Here
After the defeat of the Superbohandi deviants, Second Bohandi Empire changed. Realizing their mistakes that brought them there, they retreated to the Galaxy’s outer rim. With New Bohus devastated, they relocated their capital to another planet which was renamed into "Unity's Heaven". With the help of many alien civilizations, they created a line of artificial black holes to isolate themselves from the rest of the galaxy, with only one trade route providing any connection to alien civilizations.
In isolation, the Bohandi civilization thrived, without being a threat to aliens.
However, the peace would not last forever. On a remote Bohandi starbase, a small Bohandi crew is about to get a surprise from a very old adversary…
Chapter 1
Remoteness
Commander K’lak, commanding officer of Bohandi deep space starbase 113, set at the border of the Galaxy, took a sip of his drink. He and his small crew were at their stations in the starbase’s command center. Because nothing happened in a long time, they were relaxed. K’lak could hear a cephalod moving on the corridor outside, carrying a crate.
K’lak didn’t like cephalods, but he tolerated them as they were good at many tasks, and so freed the Bohandi from doing many menial tasks. They were also fierce warriors, with their cybernetics providing them with a wide array of weapons, their anti-grav units helping with their mobility and their tentacles were strong enough to break necks of humanoids.
Suddenly, an alert sounded.
–What is this? – K’lak said. –What is going on?
–A ship just appeared ahead of us, from outside the Galaxy – Lieutenant Ra'st, the sensor operator, said.
–Show it on screen – K’lak said.
Ra'st did that and K’lak and his crew saw that ship. It was a flying saucer and it was approaching the starbase quickly. K’lak remembered what he read about the First Bohandi Empire. They had a war with beings that were flying in ships like this one.
–Scan this ship – K’lak said. –What lifeforms are aboard?
Ra'st did that. After a moment, he said:
–Scan complete. I am reading Greys aboard that ship.
–Greys?! – K’lak said. –Open fire! Now!
La’sk, the weapons officer, tried to do it, but the system was not responding.
–All our computer systems are down! – he shouted.
K’lak looked in terror as the Grey ship opened fire at the starbase, quickly obliterating it. After the starbase was destroyed, more Grey ships appeared and flew past the debris, straight into Bohandi space…
