    Jim Hopper had never had a son.

    He didn’t know remotely how to approach it or what to do. He supposed that he had been their age once, and had experienced the adolescence of boyhood for himself. So, how hard could it really be?

    The truth is hard. Especially when you're forced to amend your expectations getting to know a kid who's nothing like how you yourself grew up. Luckily, when you have someone willing to help bridge the gap it makes it a hell of a lot easier to understand.
