Chapter 1: Strawberry Farms

Chapter Text

It had been months since they last saw The Pillow Face Killer. Most of the family had completely forgotten about him. If it wasn't for the fact that Ben was still friends with one of his victims he would almost say it was just part of their imagination. This was pretty normal for them. They fight for their lives at least once a week.

Pk had just disappeared from their minds..Everyone but Nathan's at least. He didnt know why but especially recently he's been thinking a lot about him. He wanted to see what he was doing or if he was even still around.

He remembered the look in his eyes whenever he talked. His eyes were barely visible with the mask on. You'd only be able to see them if you were looking closely, Nathan was looking too close. He felt like there was something between them, like they'd seen eachother before.

Something about it made his heart ache as he thought about Pk. He could be vulnerable and for some weird reason Nathan wanted him to be vulnerable to him. To let his voice out or even take off the mask. Nathan had imagined him without the mask hundreds of times. If he could still make collages he would have destroyed every book and magazine in the hotel just to see Pk's face.

But, he had his imagination for now. He could live with his fantasy of Pk now owning a prestigious strawberry farm, no longer worried about looks or killing horny strangers. Just him and a strawberry patch maybe somewhere rural like Ohio.. Yeah..He could live with that.

Okay.. He couldnt live with that.

He hadn't told anyone but everytime the family was busy with something that wasn't live endangering he would go into the woods. He couldn't help it! He needed to know Pk was okay. He had already tried asking the only family member who wouldnt judge him to look up prestigious upcoming farms for months! Abbadon just now figured out how to turn the damn computer on! Who knows how long it'd take for him to figure out how to type an email!

So he would walk around. He never went far..admittedly, he was still very afraid of the outdoor ghost. They all died so terribly! Yeah some of the ghost inside the hotel used to be outdoor ghost but for some reason the ones that stay outside are so creepy! He gets goosebumps just thinking about them.

Did Pk have to deal with them all the time? Did he kill most of these people? Why did that kinda make Nathan proud? The thought of Pk being strong enough to kill hundreds of people like it was nothing should not be appealing. Maybe its just comforting to know he could protect himself?

So he walked..a little farther than he normally would. Baby steps he'd tell himself. He took small stops to look at the dug up holes and what appears to be something that recently got buried. Another stop when he would see things like ashes or bones. He probably shouldn't be supporting their endeavors but Nathan couldnt help but be proud of how well Esther and Abbadon work together.

It probably wasn't the best idea to stop as he heard a noise behind him. He quickly jumped into one of the holes..he probably didnt have to considering he was a ghost but better safe than sorry. Wouldn't want someone being led to the hotel.

This was a lot different from the outside ghost screams of anguish. There was a rhythmic thumping of boots but, they sounded so..familiar. Like something he'd heard before but hadn't paid attention to.

He could hear the sound of a shovel plunging into the dirt a couple times before they walked away. Nathan waited for a while before climbing out and deciding to call it a day and head back. The Last thing he needs is to lead some run away killer or a hungry demonic monster back to the hotel.

A part of him was still curious. As he walked back he could help but have this feeling. This heartache that kept telling him to go back, but he had to get back. It had been hours and there's a chance that the family is already home and looking for him.

He left the woods with a heavy sigh and made his way to the front door only to be met with the flashing lights of a car and his family's horrified screams.

"Nathan! Again?! Are you serious?!" Katherine yelled as she placed her hand on her heart.
