It happened in the heat of a moment. The dining room was full, few professors were yet to join while one of Slytherin's 6th year student jinxed a 2nd year Gryffindor with sprouts all over his face and then had the nerve to call it an innocent joke. One moment they all were throwing insults on eachother. Wu Suowei was too much into the quarrel cursing his heart out at those green slythers when Chi Cheng, the quietest Slytherin raised his head from the notebook and said in a clear distinct voice,
"Why don't you stop cussing and put that energy into cultivating your weak nerve so that you won't piss your pants next time when you see a snake again."
Now that was one time when a sleek silver-green python crawled up Wu Suowei's chest and bopped its head to his chin during his afternoon nap by the lake. Wu Suowei being ophidiophobic (fear of snake) as soon as he opened his eyes feeling the cool touch and saw the snake curled on his chest, he fainted letting out a shrill cry that echoed on the every walls of Hogwarts. Needless to say that snake was Chi Cheng's beloved pet snake that he brought with him issuing special permission from the authority saying that it was non-venomous and very pliant.
But that one incident caused Wu Suowei, Topper of his class, a reputed name for gryffindor house to be a laughing stock in the entire school. No-one cared about his phobia, no one looked over his past achievements, they all just laughed at his face, behind his back making their own version of story of that horrible incident.
So when Wu Suowei heard Chi Cheng, his mind went frenzy in fury in an instant and he heard himself blurting out, "SHUT UP, YOU FILTHY MUDBLOOD!"
The room went quiet as everybody's head turned to look at Suowei. Suowei's own jaw bone got locked, his eyes wide, mouth still opened in rage as he became physically too stunned to react anyway. Chi Cheng's cold gaze that wasn't specifically on anyone earlier now turned to meet his without any expression. And that particular expressionless face made Suowei's blood run colder than any expression could.
"Ten points from Gryffindor!" Professor Miami's thunderous voice made an appearance from behind causing Suowei's already cold blood getting colder.
When Suowei turned to her she said in a stern voice, "Mr Wu, detention with me after class." Then turned to everyone, "Everyone take you seats and be quiet. Let this matter be over here."
But that one pair of cold, piercing eyes were enough to tell Wu Suowei that this matter wasn't Over here. It was just the beginning.
