Abolish... has had a weird few days, to say the least.
First of all, so many new folks had just wandered into town. Probably due to the Mayor announcing that the town had had a... "gold rush" of sorts, but he knew that definitely wasn't true. Hell, he'd been here for months and all that had happened was a damn dust bowl that had destroyed half the town.
Second of all, this.. weird carriage? Ship? Whatever it was—had crashed into the train station, bringing along this weird wall and a... little critter with it. He hadn't seen the critter in a while, but he assumed it was somewhere it town, since Graecie had taken such a liking to it.
Despite all of this nonsense, Abolish just wanted to live life, and maybe get to rebuild his house. Well, what was now his house. Apparently it had been the Mayor's old home, but he was rebuilding another building, so Abolish didn't see the harm in sprucing up the place for himself to live in.
-------------
Today had been a nice, quiet day.
Abolish had just finished remodeling some of his house, and decided to walk over into town to see if anything had happened. What he didn't expect to find was someone he had never met before talking to Apo and Cherri about... something about the mayor, he didn't know.
"....Anything to make sure the Sheriff doesn't take the role, cause that's double trouble right there." Abolish hears from the unknown stranger as he walks up, not entirely sure on what's going on.
"Do I want a police state, or do we want some weird guy who picks his ears to be mayor?" Cherri sighs, hands on her hips as she gazes at Apo.
"....I'm not voting this election." Apo quickly says, turning and swiftly walking away from the group, making the stranger stutter slightly, calling out, "There is no vote, there is no vote! I-it's just a vibe check."
In response, both Cherri and Apo speak up, but frankly, Abolish can't hear what either of them say, especially when he hears Jack—Pyro—walking up as well.
"Wait, what I'm asking is when was-"
"Wait, if you go against someone else who wants to be mayor, there's probably going to have to be an election. You know what I mean?" Cherri interjects, swiftly cutting him off as she speaks to the stranger, who he still does not know the name of.
The conversation continues on for a while, with both Cherri and the stranger still arguing about an election and what qualifies as an election... At this point, Abolish was starting to get a headache. In the midst of all of it, the stranger had implied that he was the new mayor. And *that* got Abolish's attention. "Wait, you're the new mayor?"
The stranger visibly perks up at the attention he'd just gotten, and smirks, nodding his head and tipping his hat slightly. "Yep, I'm the new mayor. Nice to meet you." ...And then decides to leave. *Still without giving his name.*
Cherri groans loudly, running a hand over her face as she looks towards Abolish. "Oh, brother."
Apo, still slightly disoriented, looks over at Cherri with an incredulous look in her eyes. "Did you say yes, Cherri?!" "No! I didn't vote for that guy!" "....Oh my God."
Abolish just glances between the two women, before sighing and heading back to finish his house. Today was exhausting, and he still had no idea what the hell was to come.
