The Symbiotic Relationship between Watcher and Players by notOK

Summary
Players are of the Universe, loved by the Universe, living within the Universe. They build, explore, die, live, mine, and craft.
Watchers are not of the Universe. Watchers come from beyond it. There are many ideas of what they are, legends of what they have done, and theories for why they seem fascinated with Players; but little is actually understood about them by the general populace.
For the curious Players, this is as an in depth guide as we can be into the nature of Players, Watchers and how they interact with one another.

Summary
Zuko and Aang conspired early to keep the Firelord’s identity as the Blue Spirit a secret. Zuko unmasked would only make his spot on the Dragon Throne more tenuous during a time of upheaval in the post-war Fire Nation.
Nevertheless, the post-war academics are on it. Who was the Blue Spirit?
Aang and Zuko try their best to play it cool.
Aang’s pretty successful…
Zuko? Well, he’s trying his best.

Or where two-thirds of the story is historical “articles” set in and referencing the world of Avatar and one third is Zuko (and Aang) navigating a world where there are academic papers speculating about the prison breakout they did together.- Language:

Summary
Six tries not to think about Fitz (or Cahill). Tries even harder not to think about his old man, long dead, and tries to quell the worry that he’ll be anything like his father when it comes to Claire. He isn’t—he knows—like his father. But sometimes the fear that he’ll make mistakes with her sends waves of nausea rolling in his stomach.
OR: Six and Claire live on the run for a few years while Six attempts to buy their freedom. Permanently.

Bookmarker's Notes
"This wasn’t your fault. It’s just another Thursday. Remember?”
Of course, Six remembers. He doesn’t think he’ll ever forget the tiny kid she was, so frail but so utterly unflappable in the face of tragedy and struggle. Claire had already lost both of her parents and undergone several open-heart surgeries by the time Six had met her.
Six thinks about the look on Lloyd Hansen’s face when Claire shot him with the flare gun.
“Sometimes, I forget how tough you are.”
Claire doesn’t think she’s very tough at all. She looks at Six, sees the old bullet wounds and prison tattoos that mark his body, thinks of all the times he’s saved her. There isn’t anything she thinks he can’t do. Knows that he has killed for her, would do it again if necessary, and she doesn’t feel tough.
She feels lucky.

Summary
As he stared down into the lumpy grey goop that was his evening rations, he contemplated whether it was really worth it.
They’d come a very long way just for Grace to give up and die at the last hurdle, both physically and emotionally. The Tau Ceti system was a long, long way away now, and Grace had faced not one but two highly emotional suicide missions. Three, if you counted the time before he was given a military grade roofie and hucked into space without his memories.
Rocky and Grace make it back to Erid! Huzzah!
Now they have to navigate all of... that.- Language:

Grace need wingman, question?”
“For what?”
“For impress Adrian. Rocky already like Grace, do not need wingman for Grace impress Rocky.”
He needed to stop saying things. Like, now. If he kept being so sincere and open, Grace was going to start taking it seriously, and then he’d get in trouble. Grace needed to stop teaching him new words - they had all the words they’d ever need to be friends. They didn’t need things like wingman. They might need words like homewrecker if Grace didn’t get himself under control.
He tugged his plate in under the blanket with him. “Maybe we should stop saying wingman. I really don’t think you get it.”
Rocky grumbled something about Grace not get it, but he let it bounce off him without acknowledgement.

Summary
Grace’s first days on Erid are not easy. In fact, he’s so sick and wounded from starvation, scurvy, and an almost-crash that he barely remembers it. What he does remember is the betrayal and pain that he experienced on Earth.
Lucky for him, his best friend left him in good hands. Now if he could only figure out who that is and if he’s safe with them.

Grace, shakily, reaches his hand out to Adrian. Adrian places their claw atop of his hand, and they regard each other for a long time.
“You’re not alone, Adrian.” He smiles, “he’s back. You’re okay.”
“Grace not alone, either.” Grace grimaces. The fear of not being accepted on Erid is reinforced with a flood of a lifetime of memories from Earthly rejection.
“Grace not alone!” Adrian stomps again, sensing Grace’s heartbeat getting faster.
“Grace have Rocky. Grace have Adrian. Grace have new home. Better than Earth home. Erid not send Grace to die.”
Grace blinks rapidly, realizing Rocky must have told Adrian about the suicide mission.

Summary
“Tango’s been messing around in the undercity a lot, lately. And I’ve heard he’s gotten close with that one thief, the guy with the ladders who supposedly knows all the tunnels. If there’s anyone in Hermitopia who’s got easy access to weird strains of sculk, it’d be him. Forgery isn’t likely to reveal anything about his lair to Smoke Signal, but maybe if Impulse asked Tango…
Impulse shakes that thought clear from his head. It isn’t necessary, not yet. Pearl would scold him for revealing his identity to someone again—she only barely agreed to the alliance with Dr. Zedaph. Impulse knows he can trust Zed to keep a secret, and Tango would never betray them either, but…
It’s not a necessary risk, Impulse tells himself firmly.
Besides, all that is a matter for Smoke Signal. Tonight, he’s Impulse—the friendly local bartender meeting up with his three favorite regulars. Tonight, they set down their masks together and make-believe that the world hasn’t gone crazy.
Tonight, they play poker.”

“I call.” Smoke Signal pushes in a stack of chips. “And I raise another ten. You’ll have to try harder if you wanna scare me away.”
Zed giggles and matches Smoke Signal’s bet.
“Is that what you think I’m doing?” Forgery says, shoving more chips forward. “Trying to scare you?”
“I don’t think you know what you’re doing.”
Smoke Signal draws the final community card—the river.
It’s the queen of hearts. Smoke Signal chuckles.
“Not that I care either way,” he says. “All in.”
“All in!” Zed crows.
Forgery surges to his feet.
“Care?” Forgery snarls. “Of course you don’t care, you scum-slime-jerkface-monster! If you did you wouldn’t—he wouldn’t—“
“Top!”
One sharp word from Skizz stops Forgery short, and—
No. I’m wrong.
Forgery is a showman, a crafted imitation of a villain purely in it for the spectacle, for the experience. Forgery wouldn’t sit down at Impulse’s table with veiled insults and pent-up anger—he’d parade his fury down the street with an army of ravagers; he’d laser-carve Smoke Signal’s offenses into the steps of City Hall, he’d construct an elaborate treasure hunt whose every clue is a personal insult and invite the world to play.
It isn’t Forgery facing him now. It’s Tango. Which means whatever this is, it isn’t a performance. It isn’t “business.” It’s personal. It’s real.
