Just hanging around

Summary:

Aurora and Phantom enjoy their free evening by playing video games. Banter over their gaming session ends in a little accident.

Notes:

Please do not feed it to any AI. Enjoy! :3

EDIT: I'm currently rewriting the entire thing to make it into a proper oneshot. I can't bear the state of this and I want to improve lol

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Since sunset, Aurora and Phantom have been barricading themselves in their shared room. No ghoul got in and certainly no ghoul got out. Their packmates knew better than dare to interrupt one of the chaotic twins when they barricaded themselves in yet again. Cirrus tried before and it turned out to be the biggest mistake in their den's history.

Surrounded by more than a dozen cans of energy drinks, the both of them indulged in a shared session of Minecraft. Phantom slammed down their can, at the same time as an all too familiar boom echoed from the speakers.

"Phantom, you idiot!" Aurora yelled at her twin while navigating her avatar to the source of the sound: her carefully crafted bee enclosure. There she saw it! A gaping hole in the glass dome, the beehives annihilated. Her beloved bees weren't cuties anymore but rather a mess of aggressive beasts which were dead-set on stinging the both of them to death. They were nearly as scary as angry Sister Imperator was, but oh well, the hag was dead now.

"Fuck you!" Aurora screamed at them. Her tail thumped against the backrest of the couch in agitation.

Phantom in return giggled mischievously. This was way too fun and honestly, it was her own fault if she built so close to the ghoul's claimed space. Aurora's enchanted sword made contact with them. The player figure immediately began to take damage.

One hit.
Two hits.
Three, four, five...
On the sixth hit Phantom perished
Seven bees stung Aurora to death.
The screen proclaimed their demise.

Phantom pounced on her with a growl, they weren't having it any of it. How dare she! A playfight ensued. The twins were rolling around while trying to fight for dominance. Fists flew, horns clanked, teeth snapped. Until they weren't anymore. Suddenly, the shelf next to the TV came crashing down on both of them. The shocked ghouls tried to scurry away hopelessly. Aurora let out a whimper as she felt the heavy wooden construct crushed them both. Pain strained both of their senses. It was disorienting. Only the faint sounds of footsteps and muffled voices reached Aurora's ears.

This silly ficlet originated from warming-up exercise.

At the moment my writing is purely self-indulgent, as I'm trying to get back into writing. Currently unsolicited criticism isn't really welcome. Thank you for respecting that 🖤
