there’s something overtly unsettling about being watched by another being. i mean, it’s natural human instinct to dislike eyes being on you.
but, as ena attempted to simply mind her own business, she knew she was being watched by… someone.
honestly, she’d had a long day. she’d been working on this one painting all day, and couldn’t seem to get it right. and the only viable option was, of course, get some wine at her local bar. now, it’s not like she’s a consistent drinker. some wine just… occasionally sounds good, on days like this where nothing really seems to go how she wants them to. she didn’t necessarily like the atmosphere of bars, either, but since she refused to buy alcohol – because she didn’t want to, or need too, nor did she necessarily have the money – it left her here.
anyway, ena was done with her brief reflection. someone was looking at her.
she held her wine glass tightly in her hand, shifting uncomfortably on the stool on which she sat. the music here was… loud, and irritating. she was considering just leaving at this point. some creepy guy was probably eyeing her up, and she hated that – give her some cute girl, at least! a girl can be creepy with her, that's passable!
…she was only on her first drink, though. ena had only been here for about 10 minutes, she wasn’t going to let some mysterious person staring control her. who was looking anyway?!
reluctantly, she turned around, her eyes scanning the booths behind the bar. she knew someone was consistently staring at her, but just as she began to look, the feeling was… gone. it was gone.
ena sighed in defeat.
she turned back to the bar again, and looked to the side before nearly jumping out of her skin – thank god she put her glass on the table, she would’ve totally spilled it!
“jesus! what– what the hell?! where did you come from?!” ena exclaimed as she tried to catch her breath from this absolute fucking jumpscare. her eyes were met with sharp pink ones, belonging to some girl. she had some wide grin on her face, and a playful expression. her clothing choices were… strange, but, she was pretty. but looking at her made ena feel somewhat uncomfortable. she couldn’t pinpoint why for the life of her, though.
“hehe, did i scare you?” the mysterious woman spoke, leaning against the bar, her gaze set on ena.
“i can’t say that wasn’t.. intentional. eheh. anyway, sorry bout that,”
ena groaned, still recovering from the sudden appearance of her. she wanted to keep inspecting the other girl, but her gut for whatever reason told her to avert her gaze.
“...eurgh. it’s fine. do you need something from me?” ena mumbled, just loud enough to be heard over the loud ambience. she looked down at the wood grain, swallowing thickly.
“yyyyes, actually! first of all, allow me to be formal before i ask a pretty lady like you somethin,” she practically purred out to the brunette, leaning even closer – like she was trying to get ena’s eyes back on her. “i’m amia. what about you?”
…that didn’t sound like a legal name someone would be given. but. whatever. “eurm. ena. can you tell me what you want now?”
“mhm, mhm! i sure can. so, hey, you’re cute. i was wondering if you’d like to leave this place and maybe take a walk with me? get to know each other, maybe.” amia grinned widely, in fact, despite ena not looking directly at her for majority of the conversation, she could tell it never faded once she turned her attention back to the other woman. what a sudden request.
“...oh. uhm,” ena swallowed, looking at her – which was… kind of hard to do, by the way, it made ena feel extremely uneasy. but it was also… addictive to look at her?? weird. so weird.
she weighed her options. go somewhere with this random chick while she, and probably amia too, had drank very recently, or… stay at this dumb bar alone and pitying herself. stranger danger didn’t necessarily occur to her at this very moment.
“you know..” ena muttered, standing up slowly from her barstool, stretching. she smiled to amia, somewhat unsteadily. “i don’t mind, sure. just going on a walk with nowhere in particular?” she asked.
“yeah, basically.”
“right. let me close my tab,”
cold. ena was cold. she was expecting to stay inside the bar, so she hadn’t dressed with thick clothing, but now the brisk cold of fall nipped at her. ena sighed quietly, her pace as slow as amia’s. it was weirdly quiet out, but it was also pretty late at night, so it wasn’t really unexpected.
“how long were you looking at me in the bar?” ena asked slowly, tilting her head up to look at the taller woman. amia’s gaze stayed forward, a smug smile on her lips; a snaggle tooth stuck out. hm.
“ouh, you noticed? hehe, thought i was being discreet. shucks. but i mean… i don’t know, couple minutes.” amia hummed.
“it’s not really polite to stare.” she mumbled, raising her eyebrow as amia looked down to meet ena’s gaze.
“you’re right, i apologize…” she paused her pace, before wrapping her fingers around ena’s arm, causing her to flinch. “hey, wanna see somethin cool, ena?”
she tensed at the hold, her eyes widening slightly. this felt somewhat– no, really suspicious. before she could even respond, amia quickly began pulling ena down the sidewalk. ena sputtered, and struggled slightly to keep up – amia was fast, seriously. like, almost inhumanely fast.
the taller woman skidded to a halt in some alleyway, her hold still extremely tight on her arm. ena breathed heavily in, hunching over to catch her breath.
great. she was probably about to get murdered.
“ena,” amia practically whispered, turning her head downwards to her. “do you believe in monsters?” she asked, spinning ena around. she pulled the shorter girl against her, chest to chest.
heaving, disoriented, confused, and scared, ena couldn’t think of a response. she blinked, confused at the proximity of them now, tilting her gaze upwards to inspect amia.
that grin never wore off. but ena noticed something she hadn’t prior. sharp. amia’s teeth were sharp. all of them were clearly more pointed than a normal person, but her fangs… she had these long fangs.
“m–.. monsters. i’m not five. monsters don’t exist.”
amia’s skin was pale, but that was… easy to be brushed off. but illuminated by moonlight now, she looked almost gray. her eyes were so bright, but they felt malicious.
“are you sure, ena?”
wasn’t being inhumanely fast associated with,,
“you’re a vampire.” ena mumbled. she wasn’t sure why she wasn’t trying to run off. she probably couldn’t get anywhere if she tried, for a multitude of reasons. she wasn’t even strong enough to break out of her embrace.
amia’s grin faltered into a smile, a weirdly soft one. she laughed, but it wasn’t some cartoonishly evil laugh. a genuine one. “heheh, yeahh. you’re right! it’s hard to believe though, right? i mean, i dont even believe i’m one myself sometimes!”
ena scoffed quietly, feeling obscene dread throughout her. at least she was dying at the hands of a pretty girl. that was cool. “...so what? you gonna murder me– o-or eat me?! whatever vampires do! i don’t care. go ahead. see what i care.”
“mmh?” amia hummed, but it sounded more like a cat’s meow. even being held in the hands of death, ena couldn’t help but find her cute. “nonono, i won’t kill you! you’re too prettyyy, it’d be a shame to kill you, ena. eheh. but. could you do a girl a favor?”
“...shut up. what do you want.” she mumbled, grinding her teeth together and dipped her head down. she had tried to ignore that she was blushing through her fear since amia first approached her.
“i meannn, you have a little blood to spare–don’t you? pleaseee.. i’m gonna starve! not really, but, still. please.”
cast ena into twilight at this point. (does that have the vampires or the werewolf guys? actually, scrap that, that's a straight romance show regardless. she’s a lesbian. maybe make a show for her and amia together?)
“...ok.”
amia smiled widely, her fingers curling around ena’s collar. she breathed out shakily, feeling the other woman begin pulling her shirt to the side.
amia practically drooled at the sight of ena’s creamy light brown skin, she’d be so soft when she bit into her! she couldn’t get too greedy, though. she didn’t seriously want to hurt this girl, she was seriously adorable and wanted to be friends with her.
she sighed. “let me know if i hurt you too much… or, something.”
“wow. i didn’t know vampires were caring.”
amia laughed softly, before leaning down slightly, her face inches away from the crook of her neck. she left a small kiss to her skin, before digging her fangs in. amia heard ena whine at the obvious pain, so amia hugged her tighter. ena returned her embrace.
ena’s blood was warm, and the taste of iron… and well, blood flooded her mouth. she drank it in hastily, while also trying to savor it all the same. she knew she had to limit herself, but she was delicious.
after a few moments of ena wincing and whimpering, amia dislodged. she pulled away from her neck, exhaling. she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, and then palmed ena’s wound to try and… kind of, suppress the bleeding? she didn’t know what she was doing. she never reeeeaaallyy cared about the wellbeing of her victims.
amia held ena against her firmly, just in case of a collapse. ena was clearly woozy, and the wine previously definitely didn’t help, her breathing unsteady.
“i didn’t drink too much, did i?’
“..nnnoo.. i don’t think ssso, just kind of. hurts,”
“mmmm. i see i see. well, thanks for that. but i can’t let you go without a meal yourself! i’ll buy you anything!”
“...oh.”
ena paused, leaning forward. she rested her forehead against amia’s collarbone, closing her eyes.
“euhrm. cheesecake.”
“...then, it’s a date. ehehe.”
