Work Text:
Misao petted Kuu in the backyard, smiling to himself satisfied as the cat started to purr. Cats purred when they were happy right? So that meant Kuu liked him, which made Misao happy as well.
"Hey Kuu..." Misao called, as he started to think about something that was on his mind. Kuu tilted her head in curiosity of Misao's question, although Misao wasn't entirely sure if she understood him. "Why do humans purr sometimes as well?"
The cat didn't blink, or make any noise, she simply stared into Misao's eyes. Misao stared back as intensely, then nodded his head in understanding. Kuu was a very understanding creature.
"You have a good point! I guess your kind and humans are very similar." Misao then crossed his arms. "I can hear purring right now," he said, then stood. Kuu looked up at him, then followed Misao as he wandered into the house.
He didn't see anyone in the immediate area, but he could still hear the noise very vividly, and he realized the sound of shuffling could also be heard. He walked to the place in the house that they would sit around and play games in, and successfully found the source of the noise.
Canon was on top of Maya, and for some reason Misao couldn't figure out, Canon was sucking on Maya's neck. Was she trying to eat her!? Is this some human method of assimilation, but then...Misao didn't think Canon would do that to Maya.
Perhaps this wasn't actually hurting her, Maya was after all making the happy noises. "Does Maya taste good?" Misao asked absently. The festum boy didn't realize just what his words could imply.
His efforts were reworded with a burst of laughter along with Canon hiding her face with Maya's chest. Did he say something funny? It was an honest question, he didn't know why Maya was laughing, or why Canon seemed so embarrassed all of a sudden.
"Kurusu-kun... You shouldn't ask that question," Maya said between laughter.
Misao pouted. Why shouldn't he ask that? Was it a sensitive topic. Toomi-sensei taught him that certain things shouldn't be questioned because it could make people sad or mad. Maybe this was that type of question. Then again Maya was laughing...
"Should I ask Soushi?" Misao asked, and this earned a snort from Canon. The taste of humans must have been a very amusing topic. He was starting to get curious about the flavor. Would Soushi let him taste him?
"Well... Yeah, sure! Minashiro-kun would probably no doubt give you some type of answer," Maya said. She looked like she was trying to hold back laughter.
Misao smiled brightly, then reached down beside himself and picked up Kuu and held her in his arms. "Lets go ask Soushi, Kuu!" Misao happily said. He turned on his heel and walked away in the direction of Soushi's room.
Soushi's room was on the second floor, and was also right beside Misao's room. Misao originally wanted to stay in the same room as Soushi, but Kazuki had a problem with that for some reason.
Once Misao reached the room, he opened the door, which fortunately wasn't locked, and walked inside to find Soushi sitting on his bed reading a book, and Kazuki sitting on his knees behind him massaging his shoulders.
Soushi looked up from his book at Misao's intrusion, and sighed, then sat it aside and said, "How many times have I told you to knock first. Is there something you need?" Soushi questioned. He surprisingly didn't sound all that annoyed.
Misao pouted slightly at the reprimand. He never enjoyed it when Soushi got mad at him, or 'punished' him in one way or another. "Do people taste good, Soushi?" he asked innocently. Kazuki blinked at him, confused by the question.
Soushi furrowed his brow, also unsure about the context of the question. "Wouldn't you know that better than me?" Soushi said. Assuming the boy was referring to assimilation.
Misao rapidly shook his head. “No, not like that!” He yelled, annoyed by the misunderstanding. Misao furrowed his brow trying to think up a way to explain what he is referring. “I mean... like when you're numbing on Kazuki and he makes all that noise!” Misao explained more clearly.
Kazuki flushed in disbelief at Misao’s words and hid behind Soushi's shoulder. Misao took note that it was the same reaction Canon had to him asking Maya as well. Was the question embarrassing? He was only asking about flavor.
Soushi nodded his head understandingly. “I see, so you want to know about oral se—” Soushi started, but was interrupted by Kazuki yelling loudly and smacking him very roughly on his backside. Soushi looked back at him with a glare, Kazuki returned the expression with equal intensity.
“Kurusu… you don't need to know about that,” Kazuki said, his tone much gentler than his previous actions against Soushi.
“But I'm curious—”
“No,” Kazuki now sounded much more commanding. Misao twitched. Kazuki was very scary when he was angry. Misao figured it was probably do to the fact that Kazuki was generally very kind and gentle, so whenever he was angry or annoyed it really had an impact.
As Misao was starting to consider giving up, Soushi surprisingly spoke up in his defense. “Kazuki you’re overreacting. It's important that we teach him these type of things.” He stared at Kazuki seriously. His eyes shone in pure defiance.
“He doesn't need to learn about….about THAT type of thing!”
Soushi frowned. “Sexual education is an important thing to learn about.”
“He's a child he doesn't need it.”
“Kazuki he is physically the same age as me.”
“He has the mental capacity of a four year old!”
Misao watched the back and forth with a confused frown. He had no idea what they were saying, but it didn't seem as if he was going to get his question answered, so instead of waiting for them to come to a conclusion, Misao turned around and left the room. The two arguing men didn't notice him leave.
Misao stopped on the staircase and sat down. “Kuu… what do I do? No one will answer me…” he whined, looking down at the cat in his arms sadly. Kuu looked up at him. She looked as though she pitied him.
Misao sighed. Maybe he should go out and get some fresh air. If he was lucky, he could find someone that would explain this confusing fact to him. Not everyone could be so against him learning about the taste of people.
Misao put Kuu down, then teleported away.

Misao materialized outside near the lighthouse, and let out a breath as he took in the scenery. This place had a very good view of the sky, but people didn't frequent the location, so he doubted he would be able to find anyone.
Misao sat down on a rock and sighed. Upset with Kazuki. Misao couldn't understand why Kazuki didn't want him learning about the taste of humans, it wasn't as though he was just going to suddenly start eating people.
"Whats got you down?" A voice called, grabbing Misao's attention. He frowned upon seeing who the voice belonged to. He didn't want to talk to him! But then again, he could always ask him about it.
"No one will tell me how people taste," Misao whined. He wasn't going to bother to reword it, he knew Koyo would simply read his mind without permission like he always did.
Koyo's first reaction was confusion, which eventually turned to embarrassment. Misao was astounded. Even this guy was capable of making that expression? "You... why do you even need to know that?" Koyo asked curiously.
Misao pouted, why did everyone question it so much. "I'm curious!" he yelled, annoyed at everyone trying to keep him from learning about the taste of humans!
"Just...Lick your arm or something..." Koyo mumbled, looking away from Misao, feeling odd talking about that sort of thing with the festum. Misao tilted his head at Koyo's reaction, but shrugged it off and focused on his advice.
"But I'm not human," he said. Koyo's method would work but he is a festum.
"Mentally no... but you do have a physical human body, or at least...something close to it," Koyo explained. Misao had in truth forgotten about that fact. He stared at him with an enlightened smile, then brought his arm to his mouth.
Misao placed his lips on his arm, and lightly sucked on it. He furrowed his brow at the salty flavor, it wasn't exactly tasty. There was no way everyone tasted like that right? He couldn't possibly understand why people enjoyed it so much, if that was the case.
“Satisfied?” Koyo asked.
Misao hopped up, then smiled. "Yeup! Thanks...I guess," Misao said, then looked away from him as if he was annoyed to admit that he was grateful to Koyo, which he was. So he was not going to give him the satisfaction of a smile.
Koyo huffed at the childish behavior. "Well you aren't welcome, so no problem."
Misao looked at Koyo, and blinked. That answer was oddly acceptable to him for some reason. It wasn't as annoying of a response as he had originally expected, so Misao decided to leave their conversation at that and teleported away.
Koyo folded his arms and stared at the blank space Misao was just previously occupying. "Weirdo," he said, but then smiled to himself, and continued on his way to the inside of the lighthouse.

Misao appeared in the backyard, then made his way inside. He had been scolded too much for teleporting into the main room and startling everyone. He didn't want to get another lecture, they always lasted too long and left him tired.
Once inside, Kuu approached him with a purr and meow. Misao crouched down and petted the top of Kuu's head. She rubbed against his hand in response, and Misao smiled fondly at the cat from the affection.
"Oh, welcome home, Misao," Canon said upon noticing him. Misao looked up at her, still smiling. He had forgotten he was supposed to announce his entering. Human customs were hard to get used to.
"I'm home..." he responded. His voice lacked some of its usual confidence do to the lateness of his response, even though he knew Canon wasn't going to lecture him about it.
Honestly, she hardly lectured him about anything, Misao originally wasn't sure why, but one time Canon told him that it was because she felt a camaraderie towards him, like she could relate to his situation a little more than the rest of their friends.
“Hey can you do something for me Canon?” Misao asked.

Soushi stared at Kazuki's back, and sighed. Their little argument lead to him receiving the silent treatment.
He knew Kazuki was rather stubborn when he got like that, so he stood up and left the room. If he tried to argue any further he would basically be talking to a wall. Kazuki would cool off eventually.
In the living room, Soushi found Misao sitting with Canon. For some strange reason the boy was...licking her wrist? Soushi wasn't going to try and judge Canon for it, however...
"What are you two doing?" Soushi questioned. Canon looked at him pleadingly, as if she wanted help for something, and Misao beamed at him cheerily. Soushi frowned. That wasn't a good sign.
Misao got up and walked towards Soushi. "Can I lick you?" he asked, sounding innocent despite the question being seemingly anything but that. Suspicions aside, Soushi raised an eyebrow.
"Lick me, why?"
"So I can learn how you taste!"
Soushi sighed. That's what this was about? He was surprised that Canon conceded. Even if it was at heart a innocent request, it was still a rather strange thing to agree to. Soushi pulled up his sleeve. "Fine."
Misao showed no sign of embarrassment or hesitation, and soon a pair of soft lips and a hot tongue was on his arm. Soushi narrowed his eyes, and before long Misao pulled away and frowned. "You're not salty."
"Because I just showered, and I haven't been sweating."
Misao hummed, then nodded his head in understanding, although Soushi wasn't quite sure just how much he actually understood. "Hmm... I don't get it. Humans don't taste good at all."
Soushi crossed his arms. How would he explain this properly, and in a way that was appropriate enough to not have Kazuki whine about it later. It was hard for Soushi to explain things without being completely factual.
"Because, it's enjoyable, and intimate," Kazuki said as he came up behind Soushi. Misao looked almost disappointed. The festum boy still not having any interest in the topic of intimacy. Soushi meanwhile looked at Kazuki surprised.
"Laaame," Misao proclaimed, before turning on his way.
Kazuki glanced at Soushi from the side of his eye, then turned on his heel and walked away towards the backyard. Soushi groaned, but followed him out. Canon watched the two exit with concern.
They had appeared to be fine earlier, so what caused the sudden tension? Did they have a fight or something? Canon considered it possible, but found it hard to believe since they were so tight.
Maya came from the kitchen with two drinks and seated herself beside Canon. "Worried about Kazuki-kun and Minashiro-kun?" Maya questioned. She held a drink towards Canon, and she accepted it and took a small sip.
Canon swallowed, then nodded her head. "Kind of..." Maya leaned her head on Canon's shoulder and yawned. Was she tired? It wasn't exactly late at the moment, but Canon didn't mind being used as a pillow.
Maya hugged her arm. "They'll make up in no time, don't worry about them."
Canon wondered about that, but then, Maya did know them longer than she did, so there was no point in arguing about it with her. With a sigh, Canon leaned her head on Maya's. "Why am I always the pillow?"
Maya chuckled at the question. "Because, you're bigger and softer."
"And what exactly are you implying?"
Maya pressed her down into the couch and nuzzled her face into her chest. "Nothing!" Canon yelped as she was pressed down into the cushions of the couch.
"I should push you off."
"You should," Maya agreed, causing Canon to laugh.

Soushi sat beside Kazuki on the backyard porch. He wasn't sure what to say, it wasn't as though he did or said anything wrong, and Kazuki seemed to agree now since he talked to Misao.
“You're a butt,” Kazuki suddenly said, and Soushi looked at him scandalized in response. He didn't know if he should question the odd choice of words or why he felt the need to call him that.
“Excuse me?”
Kazuki looked at him with an annoyed pout. “You heard me! You're a butt!”
“Why?”
Kazuki looked away from Soushi and down at the ground, his pout remaining. “Because you are…” Kazuki said, his voice sounding less confident now. Soushi raised an eyebrow at him.
“Is that a bad thing?” Soushi questioned.
Kazuki stared at him with a defiant glare. “Yes.”
Soushi placed his hand over Kazuki's and stared into his eyes, trying to guess why Kazuki was having an attitude towards him. Kazuki stared back with a glare, but eventually closed his eyes and sighed.
“You were right, as much as I hate to admit it.”
“Excuse me?”
“I was being stubborn, you were right about Misao.”
Soushi blinked, shocked by his words. “I expected you to be more stubborn,” Soushi commented, staring at him wide-eyed. Kazuki pursed his lips and narrowed his eyes at Soushi.
“I imagined you would be too, you butt.”
Soushi smiled softly at Kazuki, and earned a gentle punch to his shoulder. He responded by hugging him. Kazuki made a small noise almost in protest, but showed no sign of pushing him away.
“I'm not sleeping with you tonight.”
“But I'll be cold.”
“Good.”

Misao had decided to spend the rest of his time in Rakuen. Mostly because he had started to want some food after all that talk about flavor.
Koyo approached the table with a neutral expression that looked more than a little bored. Which in Misao's opinion was not at all professional. Therefore the festum looked up at him with equal boredom.
“That look doesn't suit you,” Koyo commented, he earned a huff in response. Misao didn't know how to take his words, but he didn't think it was meant as an insult, so he glanced at him with a slight pout; then sighed.
“You have no customers.”
“That's true...trying to rub it in?”
Misao grumbled something under his breath, then averted his eyes away from Koyo. “Sit with me,” Misao asked, he sounded reluctant to make the request. Because in truth, he was. Misao just simply didn't want to eat alone.
“Uh...did I hear you wrong?”
Misao looked at him with an annoyed glare that was in reality closer to a pout than a glare. “Just sit already…”
Koyo looked around the mostly empty restaurant, then glanced at Mizoguchi who only shrugged in response. Koyo blinked and fidgeted, but eventually sat down in the seat opposite of Misao and looked at him confused.
“Humans are salty,” Misao said eventually, still refusing to make eye contact with Koyo. This whole journey lead to a very dissatisfying conclusion to him, but then again there was still one other thing he never learned about. “Oh yeah!”
Koyo tilted his head. “What is it?” He hoped he wasn't about to ask something ridiculous.
Misao stared at Koyo, his eyes filled with innocent curiosity, and he asked, “What's oral sex?”
Koyo coughed and his cheeks reddened as he stared at Misao in disbelief. “I'm not telling you that!”
Misao pouted. Why was this thing so embarrassing to talk about? Did it involve being naked or something? He knew people were sometimes embarrassed about that sort of thing. “Then show me!”
“Hell no!”
Misao looked at him annoyed. Was it that embarrassing?
