Chapter 1: Concept

Chapter Text

What if all the heroes from Final Fantasy were dragged out of their own world by a mysterious villain? A villain who wants to destroy all worlds and figures the best way to do this is to remove the heroes, so the villains will win. He sends them to Tokyo, the real world. Confused, the heroes turn to fighting one another and the monsters that have plagued the world. Until they meet a young woman who goes by the name Claire. She explains that fighting in this world will only lead to their destruction, along with the world itself.  She teaches them how to blend into this new world until they can figure out who sent them here.

Extra notes: Our villain understands that a story can change even if one hero is taken. This is why not all heroes are main characters.

This concept creates a canon Dissidia that takes place after Lightning returns as Lightning (Claire) was hinted to have been sent to the real world after her game concluded.

Please tell me your thoughts on this concept in the comments, and enjoy the beginning of this short story in Lighting's Pov that will be coming soon!

Chapter 2: Prologue

Chapter Text

It’s been five years… five years of peace, five years since I came to this world. I have learned how this world works. I have learned to survive, to thrive, to hide. All to live in peace again. Until they showed up… People like me, from other worlds. People who didn't understand that staying quiet was the best way to survive.

Chapter Text

I woke up to the sound of sirens. Police zooming down my street. Pretty normal for a morning, but that didn’t keep me from wondering what they were up to. I pushed up the thin comforter that always tried to keep me warm but always seemed to fail and slipped out of bed. Flipping on my light, I quickly moved to put on my work clothes and deal with my mess of hair. Pink hair that always stuck up straight into spikes that were very unnatural for this world. Turning on my heat iron and starting to brush, I was able to smooth them down to less obvious spikes. My hair kept me from most jobs with its ‘unnatural’ color, but I was lucky enough to find employment at a small cat cafe near Tokyo Station.

I continue my morning routine by putting on some makeup. Not to cover up any blemishes, but to make them. My skin was unnaturally perfect, so I did everything in my power to make it look more normal, even adding fake freckles. Once I was done, I slipped on my favorite white jacket and tennis shoes. I grabbed my phone and wallet and placed them in my jacket pocket before leaving my small apartment and locking the door, and reminded myself.

“Claire Fayrin, you are Claire Fayrin, not Farron, Fayrin.” My deep voice echoed across the empty hallway. I reminded myself of my new name every day so nothing else would slip out. Even though it had been five years, a name was a very hard thing to change. I sped down the stairs, rushing so I wouldn’t miss my train, but before I could reach the exit to my apartment complex, someone called my name.

“Miss Fayrin!” An old voice called. I turned to find my landlady. She ran up to me, grabbed my hand, and looked up at me. Her short stature always surprised me, and I hated how touchy she was, but I needed a cheap place to live, and she gave that to me. “Oh, Miss Fayrin, you still live alone, right dear?”

“Um, yes…” I said, surprised.

“Wonderful!” She said, then abruptly added, “I mean, you should really try to find someone, but that means your rent won't go up this month.” She released my hand. “Well, I will let you get to work, dear. Have a good day, Miss Fayrin.”

“Thank you,” I said, quickly slipping out of the exit door before anyone else could stop me. I started my way to the train station, rushing down the street so I wouldn’t be late. But something caught my attention. The police were closer than I thought they were. I looked over to the street to find a line of police cars more than I had seen in a long time. I moved closer, trying to see what they were doing. I looked to find a green-haired woman and a silver-haired man fighting what looked to be a monster.

I froze.

Shocked, I grabbed my phone and quickly texted my boss, telling them there was an emergency and I wasn’t going to make it to work today. I prayed I wouldn’t lose my job. I knew I shouldn’t get involved, but that was exactly what I looked like went I entered this world. But my life wouldn’t stay peaceful if I got on the bad side of the police again.

I needed an opportunity to slip in without the police noticing, and a lucky one arose. I watched as the green-haired woman and the man with silver hair sprinted towards the alleyway, leaving the police to deal with the monsters. I quickly followed behind them, listening to their conversation.

“Where are we?” The girl questioned as she ran. “And why were they after us?”

“I don’t know,” The man’s deep voice rang. I watched him quickly turn, almost sensing my presence, his wise eyes locking with mine. “Who’s their?” he hissed, gripping his silver sword. I slipped into full view, putting my hand over my head, a movement I hadn’t done for a long time. I slowly walked closer to him, getting a better look. The man was covered head to toe in blue and silver armor, and his silver hair was spiky just like mine. He looked like he had seen more battles than even I. And the girl-haired girl trembled behind him, not just wary of me but also of him. She wore a bright red top with a mix of long stripes of fabric for her skirt, and her green hair was unnaturally curly, tied up in a high ponytail.

“Don’t worry, I am not your enemy.” I tried to reassure them. “You're not from Tokyo, are you?” I watched the man’s grip loosen. “You're from another world.”

Chapter 4: Chapter 1 part 2

Chapter Text

“How did you know!” The green-haired girl gasped, eyes big.

“Doesn’t matter now.” I looked back at the police, who looked to have the monster under control. If we didn’t move quickly, they would find us, and who knows what the government would do with two people from another world and one who would lie her way out of the situation. But it would still ruin everything. Where could we go? Where would be safe? My apartment was the only place that came to my mind; it was close enough that we could get there without getting caught. “We have to move,” I said, handing the woman my white jacket. “Put this on. And put your sword away.” I eyed the man. They quickly did as told. “Come, my home is close, we can talk when we get there. Stay low and stay quiet, you two stick out like sore thumbs.” The girl and the man nodded as they quickly followed me home.
I lock the door of my apartment, sighing thankfully that we weren't caught. I was lucky they looked like tourists. I turn to look at what I had gotten myself into, a green-haired girl roaming around my house with big eyes and a man staring at me, almost like he was looking for answers without words.

“Who are you, and where are we?” His deep voice rang in my apartment.

“You're in Tokyo, and I'm Claire Fayrin, or at least, that's what I call myself in this world. I used to be called Lightning.” Even just hearing it again made my eyes water. I hadn't used that name in a long time.

“To-k-yo,” he said slowly. “I am the Warrior of Light.”

“And I am Terra,” the girl with green hair said.

“The Warrior of Light, yeah, that won't do,” I told him.

“Pardon?” he asked, surprised.

“I'm saying, you won't blend in with a name like that.” I looked him up and down. “Yuri, we'll call you Yuri, that's a common enough name here, that'll work with you?” His eyes widened, then he nodded, “Wonderful, Claire, Yuri, Terra.”

“Do you know why we're here, Claire?” Terra asked.

“You think I know? Of course, I don't know why you're here,” I huffed, moving towards the TV, clicking it on, to see if there was any news about these two strangers. Terra's eyes glowed as the TV flashed on.

“What form of magic is that?”

“It's a television, not magic. Magic does not exist here, so refrain from using it.” The news warning flashed of monsters in the streets and images of other strange people in strange clothes, different from the people I had in my house. Without even realizing it, a sigh escaped my lips, and I got up and quickly put on my shoes.

“Where are you going?” Yuri asked.

“Where do you think, I glared, “There are more of you; I have to finish what I started. So please lie low, my landlady doesn't believe I live with anyone, so she's keeping my rent down, I can't pay any more for this place, so please stay quiet, and try to find something normal to wear, you can find some normal clothes in my closet, my sister and brother-in-law left their stuff, they may fit you.” Without another word, begrudgingly, I started a new adventure.

—------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am so sick of stories, heroes winning, villains losing, worlds being saved. I'm so sick of it, so I'm going to change it; the world will fall, the villains will win, and fighting will destroy the world.
