Draco hated Christmas the whole bloody season. And it was no mystery, he knew the exact reason. His mother was convinced it was a curse - how else to explain why he, Draco Malfoy, heir to the Malfoy fortune, a respectable business owner, and one of Witch Weekly’s top five bachelors for six years running, could not keep a girlfriend?
The first time, he lost his witch to a wizard who enchanted nutcrackers. He brushed it off as a fluke; they were not that serious anyway. The following year, he received a letter informing him that his girlfriend of six months had found a love for Christmas Tree farming and the farmer. Last year, his girlfriend had the decency to portkey to the Manor on Christmas Eve to inform him that while she was sorry, she could no longer deny her feelings for a Fairylight keeper. That was three years of horrible luck, three years of losing witches to wizards whom he had honestly never considered a threat. Three years of hating Christmas.
This year, when Astoria informs him that her father needs help at their Manor with the Krampus Hunt, he decides to go with her. There’s no way he is losing another witch to a horribly dressed wizard.
