Not Feeling Himself

Summary:

It looked like Will.
It sounded like Will.
It was not Will.

Work Text:

Will flinched as a hand struck his face hard, waking him from where he had passed out…well he didn’t even know how long ago.

But not just any hand.

His hand.

It was his own hand that had hit him.

It was his face leering at him.

It was him, that had been torturing Will for the last week and he didn’t know how no one else could see that that wasn’t him out there.

It was dark, wherever Will was being kept, but not entirely black. Which meant that there was a window. Will had no clue where he had been brought. He could have been in his own house for all that he knew.

He couldn’t feel his fingers anymore, but the memory of the feeling of blood dripping down them, from the cuffs that were too tight, securing him to the back of the chair, lived with him.

“You with me there, Willy?” His own voice asked, his hand grabbing his chin, wrenching his head up.

It wasn’t like Will could answer. Not with the gag shoved deep into his mouth. But he blinked his bloodshot, red rimmed eyes at the faux him. The look in this monsters eyes was nothing that Will had ever saw looking in a mirror.

The monster reached around, unbuckling the gag, pulling it from Will’s mouth. Will coughed at the sudden intake of air but then the monster’s hand was in his sweaty dirty hair, yanking Will’s head back.

“Drink this,” there was a bottle of water being pressed against his lips.

Will jerked his head, even if he barely got an inch away. “Why won’t you just let me die,” he choked out.

“Ahhh no. You see, for me to be able to be you, you need to be alive.” The monster leaned forward to whisper in his ear.

Will tried to put some distance between them again but of course got nowhere. The monster released his hair, grabbing him by the chin again. He forced his jaw open, shoving the bottle of water between his lips and tipping his head back. The water flooded into his mouth.

Will coughed and choked but it didn’t stop the water from flowing down his parched throat.

Water went everywhere, streaming down his bare chest. He had been left in nothing but his boxers.

The monster that wore his face, turned away with the bottle of the water of Will noticed the plate of food on a stack of boxes. He really was intending to keep him alive.

“I brought you a treat,”the monster said. But instead of food he turned around and Will saw his phone in his hand.

Oh God.

“Oh he’s not going to be able to help you.” The monster said.

Apparently Will had spoke out loud.

“That why you took my cross?” Will’s voice didn’t even sound like his own any more.

CRACK

Will flinched once more as the monster slapped him across his face.

“Shut up. Unless you want me to gag you again.” The faux Will had a hold of his chin again and shook his head viciously.

Will stayed quiet, but the comment had given him a tiny spark of hope.

“Now maybe disobedient boys shouldn’t get their treats.” The monster pondered.

But Will knew that he couldn’t be that lucky.

“Ah who am I kidding?” The monster held up his phone once more and of course Will face unlocked it. There was a video paused on the screen. Will did not want to witness this, but there was no way to stop the monster from pushing play.

Will clenched his eyes shut at the slight of himself, even though he knew it wasn’t him, and Mack kissing by their bed.

“What were you doing in the basement?” Mack asked as Will closed the door behind him.

Will jumped slightly.

Mack must have scared him.

“Oh just checking on something,”

That was weird. Will hadn’t even wanted to go down there when the realtor had shown them the place. Mack found it odd that he would go down there alone, voluntarily. He opened his mouth to ask something more when the doorbell rang.

“Who’s here this early?” Mack asked. He was stirring a pot of oatmeal on the stove. “Babe can you go see who that is?”

Will hesitated and reflected in the microwave his face did something very unWill like. “Of course.” He finally answered.

“Thanks,” Mack said. He waited until he heard the front door open and then rushed over to the basement door. He felt the trepidation at the darkness but he didn’t really have the time to waste. Quickly descended the stairs, his heart plummeted as he saw the horrific scene before him.

“Will! Oh my God,” Mack rushed over to chair where his boyfriend was chained. He had known something was wrong.

As he reached him though Will flinched dramatically.

“Hey it’s okay. It’s me,” Mack reached out gently, his heart clenching as Will winced again, like he was expecting to be hit. Of course the state of his face made Mack realize that he had been, repeatedly.

“Just let me…” Mack stepped out of Will’s view, unbuckling the gag and gently removing it.

“Hey it’s me. I promise it’s me.” Mack fell to his knees in front of Will.

Will didn’t believe him. That much was evident.

“Baby, it’s me,” Mack repeated, his fingers rubbing against the side of Will’s knee. “I’m sorry it took me so long to figure this out.

Will licked his lips. “Did you sleep with him?”

“Fuck,” Mack sat back slightly rubbing his face.

Suddenly there was a noise from upstairs.

“He can’t find you here. He’ll kill you.” Will’s voice was rough.

“I can’t leave you here.” Mack said.

“You need to find a cross. I think it can hurt him.” Will’s eyes were wild.

“You’ll have to find a way out of this basement first.” A voice, Will’s voice said behind them, standing halfway down the basement stairs.. “I was hoping you’d be dumb enough to not to figure it out, Macklin. Now it looks like I’m going to have to keep you both down here.”

Suddenly the creature with Will’s face, pulled a wicked looking knife from behind his back. “Although I really only need one of you…”

“Hey Smitty? Where is Mack?” Alex Wennberg asked.

“He wasn’t really feeling…himself today,” Will answered. “Decided to stay home.”

“Hope he feels better soon,” Alex replied, heading out onto the ice and completely missing the wicked grin that stretched slowly across Will’s face.
