Percy Jackson and the quest for a helm & bolt.

Summary:

An Older Percy au!!

Percy & Jason were born before the oath of the three big gods, for disclosed reasons Percy dislikes most gods except his father and stepmother.

He wanted to possibly hide and wait for everything to blow over, it seems that may not be possible after receiving a letter from the God and King of the underworld himself to go on a quest for his helm...

Chapter 1: I get a letter, unfortunately, and a quest.

Chapter Text

Percy sat up in his bed, his very comfortable bed in the middle of the night with banging at his window.

“I should be getting paid to deal with these assholes at this point.”

Percy groaned and got up going to the window and opened it. A letter sat on the edge of it, Percy took it and closed the window. He opened it and read it.

“How did- You know what? I don't want to know.”

He was really hoping this whole thing would pass over, someone that wasn't him would be doing it. Percy put the letter on the desk…

Percy got dressed in something that wasn't pajamas, took his mini altar for his dad, put on his ring and put riptide in his pocket. Percy slung his travel bag over his shoulder, going outside of his house.

“Looks like I have to go find a helm.”

Except besides the fact it was- you know. Missing. He didn't know anything else. Percy took out his phone and looked at the news, putting his bag in the car and getting in.

“Guess that's a good place to start.”

Percy pinched the bridge of his nose seeing that a building he didn't remember the name of was being burned. How did this group even manage that?

He put the car key in and turned on the car.

We're here to report a girl by the name of Thalia Grace has gone missing reported by her step dad-

Percy froze.

“That idiotic woman… You have to be insane to do that twice…”

He drove, trying to put all of the thoughts to the side.

Apparently Grover was also with them, though that actually made things easier.

Grover?

It took possibly the longest time since after they figured out how to make the empathy link work for Grover to respond.

Yah?

He sounded slightly slurred and his voice sounded- Percy then face palmed.

Grover. G-Man. My best friend. Please PLEASE tell me you're not in that damn Lotus hotel.

It went quiet for a bit and Percy got his answer.

I'm getting you out of there.

To think about it, the two Underworld Demigods were stuck in there too. He might as well get them out too.

Percy began to drive to the lotus hotel and his phone rang and he picked it up with one hand.

“What is it Dionysus?”

Then heard the other line

“You're going after the questing party. They're after the bolt.”

As if Percy couldn't figure that out himself.

“Yes, obviously. Tell me something more useful like I don't know- Their names maybe??”

“No-”

Percy hung up

“Then you're useless.”

The drive took a few hours until he finally took a break and got a text.

Sea Fam

FatherDearest: Percy, my son, why are you going to the Lotus hotel?

Quester: Uncle H wants me to get him his helm back and it's probably connected to Uncle Z's bolt getting stolen. Grover is probably with them and he's at the Lotus hotel.

BestStepmother: And if I may ask how do you know he is?

Quester: empathy link. And his speech was very slurred.

FatherDearest: Be careful.

Quester: I always am.

Percy turned off his phone before he could see various texts of debatable and went back to driving to the hotel.

When Percy finally got there he felt the empathy link become stronger. Grover and his group really were here. Percy sighed before going in.

The lights were bright, dice rolls could be heard clearly among the music that played in the background. Games around, anything that you'd usually forget time passed on.

Percy focused on divine energies.

‘Five. Two Underworld kids, One sky, one wisdom and one messenger kid.’

Percy looked around until he found them dragging them away from what they were doing. All of them fought back but didn't succeed.

Percy spoke once they were out and the magic of the casino wore off.

“Names all of you please.”

The blond haired girl glared at him

“Annabeth”

“You're definitely Wisdom's kid”

Then they looked to a blonde haired man. More dirty blonde compared to him.

“Luke.”

He muttered shocked. Meaning he likely knew who Percy was and what he'd done. Percy turned to a black haired girl.

"Thalia..."

She murmured glaring at him. Who did this guy think he was? Their savior? And why did he have this look of pity?

Percy hummed. In all honestly those two were nearly polar opposites. Thalia almost seemed more like her father then her mother.

Jason was the calm sky. Thalia seemed more like the stormy weathers that her father caused.

'Does she even know she had an older brother?'

Percy sighed and shook his head and turned to Grover with a unimpressed look to him.

“Okay, okay! I learned my lesson!”

He turned to the two Underworld siblings.

“Nico!”

The girl glared at him

“And you're Bianca, yes?”

Bianca's eyes widened but nodded regardless.

“Good.”

Percy grabbed his bag and took out two rats and a pair of snakes slithered over and Percy held them up

“Where is he?”

The two snakes huffed

“He's inside gambling-”

“As that one play writer.”

Percy shook his head

“Of course he is… get him out here and I'll give you these toasted rats.”

The snakes immediately went back inside the hotel, with only moments later Hermes was out of the casino.

“Percy!”

He grinned, Percy on the only hand was not happy to see him but regardless.

“I need you to get these kids to the underworld.”

“No Hi?”

Percy glared at him.

“Maybe if you properly saved him it wouldn't be like this.”

Their voice turned sharp and cruel. Hermes wasn't even a little bit surprised. He just sighed. He was more then well aware of how painful the incident had been for Percy.

“Fine, fine.”

Percy suddenly felt two people behind him, he glanced over. Both Bianca and Nico were hiding behind him. Hermes noticed them though.

“You took them out of the Casino?”

“I think their father would be rather happy to be out of there.”

Hermes looks to Luke, who in response bitterly looks away.

‘Right, the no contact rule.’

Hermes takes them to his car, Percy carrying Nico in his arms, Grover following him close behind. Percy smiled. Annabeth looked curiously at Percy and the group he had. Thalia looked at the man suspiciously, especially since he knew the god personally to not get smited for the statement.

“Who is he?”

She looked at Luke. Luke had almost forgotten most younger kids didn't know about Percy. Thalia glanced over scooting over to them to listen.

"Yeah, who is he?"

“That is Percy Jackson, he used to be in Camp Half-Blood, and did various quests for the gods.”

Used to be?”

Annabeth rose an eyebrow. Luke nodded.

“Because of an incident that happened, he left for good. It's never been mentioned what that incident was though.”

Thalia started thinking that this incident had a lot to do with how he acted towards the god. Percy seemed to have a mix of annoyance and pity (or was that empathy and sympathy? Thalia could never really tell the difference thanks to her... Mother) while looking at her.

“Alright everyone! Let's get going!”

Percy then shouted over to everyone and they all gathered, going into the car, Hermes driving.

“Wait how old is the goat man?”

Nico tilted his head

“That would be Grover and he's the same age as I am, 22.”

Bianca looks at Grover

“But he looks like our age.”

Grover huffs

“Because I age at half the rate that humans do.”

Percy smiled and looked out of the window. They'd be there soon enough. Maybe he'd see Jason there if he really was dead.
