Spell my name correctly!

Summary:

Sawamura Eijun is the type of person that doesn't mind if someone misspelled his name or not. However, he has a feeling in his gut that this insufferable bespectacled barista who always take his order is doing it on purpose whenever he order his coffee.

Notes:

Another stupid idea pops out of my mind. Hahaha! A Starbucks!AU that no one asked for. Enjoy reading!!

Work Text:

Eijun walked into Starbucks nearby his university, carrying his bag which is stuffed with papers for his thesis and reviewers for upcoming exams to get his usual coffee to keep him awake for the afternoon classes that he will attend. The day isn't finished yet he dragged his groggy body (from staying up late to study for tests) to enter the shop. He walked to the counter to order and it looks like that cheeky barista named Miyuki is on duty again.

"Good morning, sir~" Miyuki welcomed the student with glee, looking as if he had seen an angel or something ethereal which of course doesn't exist. Okay, maybe in his vision this cute college student that comes by everyday is his angel.

"I'll take usual." Eijun responded with a lack of vigor, taking out 520 yen from his wallet and handing the money to the barista wherein their hands brushed for a second and he can't take that fluffy feeling in his gut but he decided to ignore it.

"Caffé Mocha right? Just take a seat and wait for your order, sir."Miyuki replied, taking the exact amount and proceeded to write Eijun's name. The tired student didn't even bother to say his name since he is a regular here and even if he did, that jerk would write stupid nonsense on his cup again.

He nods to acknowledge the handsome barista's words.

Wait a freaking minute.

Did he just think of that?

No, bad Eijun! You are just exhausted that's all.

He decided to take a seat near the window and maybe take a little nap whilst his order is being made by the staff.

When Chris, the branch manager had asked to quicken their pace since he noticed most of them are slacking, he saw Miyuki quickly trying to search for a good pick-up line in his phone. Chris bets his good looks that he will try to put it in the university boy's cup, again. That guy is hopeless really.

"You should totally ask out the kid instead of purposely misspelling his name and writing corny pick-up lines." Chris calmly suggested. The said branch manager patting Miyuki in the back.

"Hyahaha! You totally got it bad, Miyuki!" Kuramochi laughed whilst preparing the other costumers orders in swift motion.

"Someone might take him away, you know! Like in those mangas I read!" Isashiki shouted a little bit loud, startling the other staffs in the vicinity.

"Quiet down, Jun." Yuuki shushed Isashiki sternly, "However, most of us would like it if you grow a pair and talk to him, Miyuki." Yuuki suddenly stated. The others seemingly agreeing with him by the looks on their faces.

"It physically pains me from embarrassment, seeing your awkward flirt advances to that boy." Ryousuke declared for everyone to hear while wearing that grin that scared half of the staff and customers alike.

"Ah, you guys are so nosy." Miyuki sighed whilst making Eijun's order. "I'll do it my way, okay?" He added.

"If you want to cry when you get rejected we are all here." Kuramochi murmured, whilst the others showed their sentiments by nodding their heads.

"I'm so blessed with such sweet colleagues!" The bespectacled barista cooed mockingly, just adding a few touches to Eijun's mocha and almost ready to serve.

"I take my words back!" Kuramochi retorts with a scowl etched in his face and the rest of the baristas laughing at their coworkers being silly as usual.

Miyuki looked for the exhausted college student around the shop. He sees a mop of brown hair near the window, who seems to take a peaceful nap on his papers. He chuckled and walked towards his customer.

"For Hey John." Miyuki called, slightly shaking the younger boy to give the caffeine beverage. "My name is not hey John, stupid.." Eijun murmured, rubbing his eyes as he raise his head to wake up from his short nap.

"Ah, you should have told me your name earlier then~" Miyuki replied in an almost ecstatic tone, taking a seat in front of Eijun. "I always tell you it's E-I-J-U-N! But you never listen. Is it that hard to write?" Eijun grunted whilst taking his order from the annoying barista, taking a sip from the cup carefully.

"You wrote something weird again in my cup didn't you?" Eijun accused lightly, checking the cup for anything stupid that the jerk in front of him wrote.

"3-XXXX -XXXX"

Call me after your classes~ Let's go out somewhere! My treat of course.

Miyuki

The poor college student almost choked on his drink as he saw the number. He was expecting a corny pick-up line but he didn't expect the barista to give his own private number to him and he did he just get asked out on a date?!

"Oi, are you alright?" Miyuki asked slightly concerned. Eijun nodded his head to let the other know that he is fine. "A-Are you serious about this?" Eijun asked timidly the worried barista whilst keeping his blushing face covered with his hand. He has never been asked out before so no one can blame him for reacting this way. Damn it! How can he concentrate on his exams now? Stupid barista.

"Of course. Have you even noticed that purposely misspelled names?, those corny pick-up lines, the glances I send your way whenever you take a sip of your coffee and I can't concentrate on my work. I really like you. The first time you graced this coffee shop.So I decided to ask you out. The only way I know." Miyuki confessed sincerely. Looking at anything but Eijun at the moment. He finally did it! He should have offered a prayer to a nearby shrine so the gods can provide him guidance. He is already sweating buckets from his nervousness alone.

"I like you too okay!! So w-we will have that date later okay?" Eijun pouted. He can't really form any reply from that confession. His mind shut down from the overwhelming emotions he is feeling right now. Not that he would admit it of course.

"Ah, after all that confession from me, that's all you'll say?" Miyuki teased lightly. He can finally breathe normally from all that tension as he waited from a response from the flushed college student he likes.

"Shut up, you evil bastard!"

"Hahaha!"

Meanwhile in the counter area, all the remaining staffs were eavesdropping and watching the two converse. They ain't even being subtle about it either. Miyuki noticed all of them were looking and flashed a shit-eating grin towards them.

Looks like it worked out after all. They all thought with matching grins in their faces.
