Chapter Text
He felt as the blade pierced his heart, one of silver burning through his wretched flesh. Something he desired so as he looked into the dark eyes above him, masked by shadowy curls and a tight jaw. A smile taut with pleasure and suffering stretched upon the creature's face while the one above, masked by shadows, opened his mouth in a silent cry of despair and desire. The sound is akin to the screech of a bat, ripping through the walls and the rippling of the atmosphere. The spirits in the air shiver, taunting the one above, speaking in their ancient tongues. The dark eyes do not understand but the creature does, reaching out in the final moments of desperation to comfort the one thing he could. He wanted, he needed. The silver burns. The shadows dance above him, the curls falling and spreading around his face, those eyes bore deeply into his, haunting his every thought.
“Phillip.” The voice whispered, leaning down into his ear.
The burning began to intensify, but the creature lay still, reveling in the feeling of his end.
“Forgive me.”
The creature felt the absence of something in his chest, the emptiness. His ending. He cried out, clawing towards the shadows. His shadows. The curls, the eyes and the darkness. His claws connect with the fabric of the shirt of the one above. The cry pierced the spirits around as they scattered in a flurry of light and their own cries of pain, something the shadows could hear.
The shadows fought away, prying himself from the creature's claws, despair reflecting between the companions eyes. The creature is starved, he feels his body try to combat the silver, healing itself and then burning again. The shadows maintained the eyes of the creature, pulling his hands over the wound and slowly leaning towards the other. He removed his hands from the wound, then with bloodstained palms held the creature's face to his own. The creature cries out in protest pushing away.
“We will meet again. I promise you my love, at dusk on the first day of summer.”
The shadows guided the creature gently to the neck of the other, resting his chapped lips against his collarbone. The creature sobbed, clawing at the back of the other, digging his claws in the desperation of a dying man. Though not a man. The shadows shifted around him, lifting the sword that was once a shining silver but is now a haunting red, and pointing it towards the two.
The creature was pushed away, curls of shadow and dark eyes looked back at him as they were pierced through the heart. A tear of crawling spiders stained his cheek, a sickening display of webs burst from his chest. He collapsed into himself, the creature screamed in a sickening choir with the shadows. A boy. Like the creature. The shadows unfurled and showed a boy, only in his young adulthood. The creatures love. The boys love. For a moment his heart may beat again as he crawled along the floor, achingly slow towards the other boy.
A symphony of screams, entwined like long lost lovers, decorated the silence of that night.
