   "Better," Alhena confirmed, her hand finding Dedra's waist, drawing her closer again. "Though I believe we were in the middle of something before you decided to play medic."

   That earned her a real smile—small, crooked, and achingly genuine—lighting Dedra’s face in a way Alhena rarely saw at work. "So we were," Dedra murmured, hands drifting down to the fastening of Alhena’s uniform jacket, knuckles brushing bare skin just beneath the collar. "Perhaps we should continue where we left off."
