Chapter Text

Tiresias hummed in disappointment. He knew it was his first relationship anniversary after a LONG TIME IN NOT BEING IN ONE. He wanted to surprise Hermes with something but he knew it would be downright impossible since he was blind. PLUS because it was such a special day, he was able to be allowed into the living world so he felt his only day was being wasted. He rested underneath a tree and relaxed to the sounds of nature hoping that it wouldn't be such a waste after all. The sounds of the flowers rustling against the wind, the buzzing of bees, the conversation of birds. wait..conversation of birds?

"How have I been so stupid?"Tiresias muttered. He forgot HE COULD TALK TO BIRDS. He tried locating the sound before trying to communicate.

"Could you do me a tiny favour?"Tiresias said in bird language(IDK WHAT THE BIRDS SAY 😭). He could hear the chatter of the birds falter.

"What favour?" chirped one of the birds.

"I want to surprise someone very dear to me." Tiresias chirped back. He could hear the birds murmur to each other before they replied.

"Sure. You got any ideas?"another bird chirped.

"uhh not really.."Tiresias replied.

"Don't worry! I HAVE SOO MANY IDEAS!"chirped a very hyper bird who strangely reminded him of Hermes. They started brainstorming ideas. Some were terrible but some weren't too bad. They finally came to a conclusion.

"Crap. i have 30 minutes before Hermes comes back from delivering messages."Tiresias said.

"GO! THE OTHER BIRDS WILL SHOW YOU WHERE TO GO, WE WILL GET EVERYTHING READY!"chirped the hyper bird.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
30 minutes later....
Hermes landed by the tree he had left Tiresias at, ready to surprise him with some chocolate and flowers.
"Dawling? Where are you?"He started to worry, scared that Tiresias might of hurt himself. He looked around the tree to see Tiresias' blindfold laying next to some birds. He instantly grabbed it. He turned, trying to find any traces of his beloved.
"OH MY GODS! WHERE IS HE? TIRESIAS??"he shouted at the air. He heard the birds chirp. These birds were far too happy from seeing his distress, he thought to himself. The birds started to fly away slowly. Hermes decided to follow them. When they finally landed, he saw the most stunning view of the sunset on a cliff. His jaw dropped. He finally saw Tiresias on a picnic blanket who was in the most gorgeous robes, wearing the silk blindfolds that Hermes had gifted him when they first became an official couple. Tiresias gently smiled at Hermes.
"I genuinely believed that you called a search team for me." He chuckled
"when- I'm so confused- how- HUH?"Hermes stuttered. Tiresias signalled him to come sit down next to him. Hermes obliged. Tiresias chirped at the birds who came waddled away and came back with food from who knows where.
"Forgot that I could talk to birds?"Tiresias said giggling at the speechless Hermes.
"To be honest I forgot too." Tiresias replied. Hermes chuckled. They both sat in the peaceful silence. The birds watched eagerly as the couple started to lean into a gentle kiss. The world seemed to pause when the two lips met. After a while, Hermes pulled back.
"ALRIGHT! TIME TO TRY SOME OF THIS FOOD! 😼"Tiresias laughed at his words.
"You really chose the food over me?"Hermes responded with a muffled hum of agreement as he shoved more food in his mouth.
"You know that the birds made the food, right?"Tiresias said, smiling gently.
"BETTER THAN NOTHING :D" Hermes responded, his mouth still full of food. Tiresias chuckled at his partner's reckless act.
"I WANNA GO TO THE MALL!" Hermes shouted as he slammed the bedroom door open.
"ugh..why did you have to be so loud?" Tiresias mumbled as he got of the bed.
"Because you've been sleeping for a bajillion hours and i thought you wouldn't wake up..duh 🙄" Hermes answered like it was the most obvious answer."Now come on! Get ready quick or I'm going without you"
"Fine.." Tiresias groaned back. Hermes went downstairs until his phone started ringing suddenly. It was Circe. Hopefully she hasn't found out about the moly he had giving to her nymphs.
"Hello dawling :D" Hermes said. Circe immediately started yapping and asked him to do a favour. When she explained what it was, he immediately accepted it (hehe you don't get to know the favour yet 😼). As Tiresias climbed down, he saw Hermes cut the call.
"Who was it?" Tiresias asked.
"Circle." Hermes answered as his headwings flapped excitedly.
"Why did she call you?" Tiresias asked as he became more suspicious of the sound of the flapping wings.
"You'll see 😼" Hermes answered. Tiresias started to get worried. Hermes and Circe friendship is a rather strange one. One day they could be spilling tea to each other like there's no tomorrow but other days Circe could be chasing Hermes with french bread.
"Are we going to go now?" Tiresias asked.
"Yep, we just gotta go to Circle's place real quick." Hermes replied. Tiresias hummed quietly in suspicion.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At Circe's doors...

KNOCK KNOCK!

Hermes giggles as Circe opens the door.

"HELLO DAWLING!" Hermes shout, grinning wide.

"Hello teabag." Circe replies in a monotone voice."Why did you bring your boyfriend here?"

"HE IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND!" Hermes screams and then realises how loud he was."...just my friend.."

"Yeah your very 'special' friend." Circe giggles.

"Shut up, shape with no vertices." Hermes mumbles.

"Anyways heres Ruby." She says as a small girl appeared . Thats when Tiresias brain decided to work. Ruby was Circe's daughter. Thats also why Hermes was so giggly. He always referred to her as his favourite relative since saying great great great granddaughter was too long.

"HII RUBY!" Hermes said.

"Hey Herpes!" Ruby replied.

When they started to leave, Circle shouts at Tiresias, "MAKE SURE THE MOLY ADDICT ISN'T GONNA KILL MY DAUGHTER TERIYAKI!"

"Will do Circle." Tiresias mumbled back. Why was everyone screaming today?..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the car…
"So you're gay Herpes?" Ruby asks out of the blue.
"I'M NOT GAY!" Hermes shout before sighing in defeat. Tiresias rolled his eyes. Hermes didn't want to tell his entire family about his relationship with Tiresias just yet especially since his godly family screwed Tiresias over many times.
"Sure buddy." Ruby replied sarcastically.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At the mall...

Tiresias was drinking a slushy while he supervised Ruby and Hermes from a distance. He smiled when he heard the laugh of the two of them. Then Tiresias' phone rang. He picked it up

"Hello Circle." Tiresias answered.

"Hey Tiramisu. Can you drop Ruby back? I want to teach her how to turn men into pigs"

Tiresias frowns. "Sure Circle."

He walked up to them as told Hermes that Ruby had to go. Hermes's laughter faded as his mouth turned into a big frown.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the car back home...
Ruby was sleeping peacefully in the back of the car and somehow wasnt waking up from the horns heard because of traffic. Hermes' frown did not falter.
"Cant we just kidnap her or something?" Hermes asks.
"No we cannot since i know for a fact that Circle will hunt you down." Tiresias answered calmly. He heard Hermes sigh in disappointment. A frown came onto Tiresias's face since he did not like hearing his partner so sad. An idea started to form in his head. He listened to Ruby, she still sounded fast asleep and the car wasn't moving due to all the traffic. He slowly leaned in and surprised-kissed Hermes. It took Hermes a few seconds to recover before giggling into the kiss.
When they pulled back, Tiresias asked Hermes. "She's still asleep right?"
"Yup!"Hermes giggled. Tiresias let a smile appear on his face when he heard his love happy.
Ruby had one eye opened the entire time, trying hard not to laugh.
Chapter Text
Tiresias woke up with a splitting headache. As he stood up from his bed, he heard the flapping of wings enter his cave.
"HELLO DAWLING! :D" Hermes greeted.
"What the sigma do you want Hermes?" Tiresias asked calmly.
"Oh, nothing- wait what did you say?" Hermes asked, confused.
"I asked what you what you wanted." Tiresias replied.
"Yeah I know that, just confused on your phrasing, what is 'what the sigma'?" Hermes asked.
"Uh oh.." Tiresias realised that he had delved too deep into the future. "Just some slang that people from the future uses."
"OOO!" Hermes giggles in excitement. "Can you teach me some? :D"
"NO!" Tiresias said a bit too quickly. "It's going to be very annoying when you find out, and I would like some bit of peace."
"aww." Hermes frowned. "Anyways I got some tea spill!". They both sat down before Hermes started yapping like crazy. He spoke about Odysseus, another dead lover of Apollo and then the most shocking of all, Hera threatening to divorce.
"Wait really? I never really liked her but she cooked with that. What a diva💜." Tiresias replied.
"What...?" Hermes was getting lost by all this slang.
"I mean she maybe a ragebaiter but she definitely ATE with that response. She can be an icon sometimes." Tiresias replied, still confusing Hermes even more.
"She didn't even eat anythin-" Tiresias cuts him off.
"Ts pmo sm Hermes 🥀. If you don't think that she absolutely DEVOURED with that threat, then SYBAU!" Tiresias put a finger in front of Hermes's mouth to silence him.
Hermes is silenced for a second. "What even happen in future.."
"Trump happens and many more things that you don't even wanna know...smh." Tiresias shook his head glumly.
"...smh? You know I love you but-" Hermes was once again cut off
"WAIT! They don't love like I love you."Tiresias sang.
"Why me 😔..." Tiresias chuckled at Hermes's confused state. "I still have tea to spill dawling"
Hermes continued to spill all the tea on Olympus.
"SLAYY QUEEN! Athena such a chill guy." Tiresias said. Hermes sighs in defeat. Tiresias suddenly started having a vision. When it finished, Tiresias started to giggles.
"What was the vision dawling?"Hermes asked curiously. THEN FOR NO REASON HE STARTED TO SING WOULDN'T YOU LIKE. Hermes jaw dropped.
"Did you make that song right now or was it the vision?" Hermes asked.
Tiresias smirked."You'll see.."
Hermes started screaming and flying in circles.
"Stop crashing out Hermes. You'll lose your negative aura." Tiresias said. "You have to be nonchalant like me."
"WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"Hermes screamed.
Chapter Text
As the cab drove near Circe's house, Hermes started to brag about all the party games he had won.
"One time Circle dared me to drink 10 shots in one go," Hermes narrated excitedly. "I drank 12!"
"You also threw up 12 times at home that night," Tiresias replied.
"BUT STILL-" Tiresias rolled his eyes as Hermes tried to defend his case.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At Circe's party...

Circe was busy trying to convince other people that turning men into a pig was a healthy hobby so Tiresias decided to stay near the bar counter with Hermes. Hermes dared himself that he could drink 10 glasses of beer even after Tiresias insisted he shouldn't. Soon after Hermes's challenge, he started to waddle off into the crowd. Tiresias heard his laugh slowly fade into the loud gathering and started to worry, hoping Hermes wouldn't hurt himself. A few minutes later, he heard a familiar giggle approach him.

"Hey cutie, whats your name? 😼" voice says which Tiresias knows for a fact that it belonged to Hermes. Tiresias tittered.He just remembered how stupid Hermes could be when he was drunk.

"Tiresias but you can call me Tire." Tiresias played along, flirtatiously.

"Oooh..that a pretty name~" Hermes's speech was becoming slurred. Hermes began to move closer before asking, "Do you have a partner Tire?"

Tiresias paused for a second before responding "Yes."

"aww.."Tiresias could practically hear Hermes's frown."Who is it?"

"Well he has the most fluffiest curls that feel like hugging a teddy bear and the most gorgeous face. He always has a mischievous smirk on his face and has the most silliest laugh." Tiresias described.

"I HAVE THE SILLIEST LAUGH 😡" Hermes shouted.

"Well I guess his laugh is sillier." Tiresias teased with a playful grin.

"I would like to see him try!" Hermes announced."Where is he?"

"I think he's in the bathroom upstairs." Tiresias replied, trying hard not burst into laughter.

He heard Hermes go upstairs angrily and then patiently waited for Hermes to come back. It didn't take long. Tiresias heard the sound of a mirror shattering and Hermes running towards him.

"TIREE MY LOVE I WANNA GO HOME! 😭" Hermes whined as he clutched his hand in pain. Tiresias let out a sigh of amusement when Hermes had finally remembered he was Tiresias's partner.

"Come on dear, I'll call us a cab." Tiresias replied gently as he held Hermes close to prevent him from escaping.

When they finally got in the cab, Hermes asked cheekily, "Can you kiss the pain away?"

He lifted his injured hand up to emphasise his point as he bats his eyes even though he knows Tiresias is blind as a bat. Tiresias sighs with faux annoyance before softly kissing the hand. Hermes leaned onto Tiresias and fell asleep. Tiresias looked at him, eyes full of care.

Chapter Text

Hermes started to worry as he neared closer and closer to the meeting hall. He had a reputation of being late to meetings but not AN HOUR LATE! When the double doors creaked open, he felt all the judging stares from the other gods. He made his way to his throne before a booming voice stopped him.

"Where have you been Hermes?" His father questioned angrily.

Hermes laughed nervously. "Just some errands plus a lot souls to lead father ha ha-"

"Don't lie to me Hermes," Zeus stared at him, his voice full of irritation. "I know you've been with your little blind prophet."

"He is much more than a blind prophet." Hermes mumbled bitterly under his breath.

Unfortunately, Zeus had heard him. "You have to remember your place as a god therefore I must punish you".

Hermes's eyes widened at the word punish. Please don't be too bad..please, he thought to himself.

"You shall not see the prophet ever again unless it absolutely necessary." Zeus decreed.

Hermes paused in shock for second. "WHAT?!"

"Don't argue with me Hermes" Zeus ordered strictly.

"BUT HE- I CAN'T- I WON'T-"Hermes stuttered trying to form full sentences but due to the shock the heartbreaking news.

"PLEASE MY LORD!" Hermes cried desperately as he kneeled. "ANYTHING BUT LEAVING HIM! PLEASE I BEG YOU!"

"I have already made my decision Hermes. You have to learn not to stoop so low for mortals." Zeus replied."Now scram and say your final goodbyes to that prophet."

"Yes my lord." Hermes said dejectedly before teleporting to the underworld.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tiresias heard Hermes's footsteps become louder and louder.
"It's only been 20 minutes Hermes. Did you really miss me that much?" Tiresias teased. The growing grin immediately falters when Hermes embraces him tightly while sobbing harshly. "Hermes..? Do you have something to say?"
"Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me. Please don't leave me." Hermes repeated between sobs as if they were the only words he knew.
"I'm not going to leave my dear but could you please explain why you are in such distress?" Tiresias asked, his face full of worry.
"Father- Zeus- hates me and you- can't see you again-"Hermes stuttered as every word pained him. Tiresias decides not to push for any more answers.
"Shh it's okay I'm always gonna stay with you." Tiresias comforted. He waited for a few minutes to see if cries would quieten but when it didn't, he decided to look into Hermes's past to understand why Hermes was weeping so much. When the vision finished, he let out a quiet sob and held Hermes a little closer.
"I've got you. I've got you now." Tiresias reassures yet he doesn't know if he was talking to Hermes or himself. He softly kept trying to comfort his love but he couldn't stop the rushing tears that ran down his face. No matter how much Tiresias tried to lie to himself, he knew was going to happen. They held each other, trying to take as much comfort from each other as possible, for 3 more hours before Hermes started to fade into gold dust. He was forcefully being pulled back into Olympus. In a panic, Hermes plucked one of his feathers off and gave it to Tiresias.
"Don't forget about me my love." He tries to say with care but the devastation in his voice was too loud. In an attempt to reciprocate the act, Tiresias grabbed his favourite of his rocks that he collects in his free time and rip a bit of his cloak off to cover the rock up and gives the rock to Hermes.
"Same goes for you too my dearest." Tiresias gives Hermes a wet smile before pulling Hermes for a kiss....the last kiss they will ever have. Soon Tiresias tumbles forward as Hermes disappears fully into Olympus, he sobs as he clutches the feather to his chest as if it was his lifeline which it was for now. The ichor at the root of the feather began to dry up as Tiresias spends hours bawling his eyes out.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At Olympus...

Hermes cries in his bed, holding the cloth tightly as the edges indents his palm but he ignore the pain. He couldn't believe it. He thought he finally had a relationship that would last. Yet, he still forgot that everyone he will ever truly love will disappear. He thought by now he would've got used to that feeling but even after thousands of years, it still crushed his heart to leave those he cared most. He had saw everyone he had loved fade away, first his mum then Crocus and now Tiresias. Why did he even have to be a god?

Chapter Text

Tiresias was waiting for Hermes to come visit when he saw a dim light escape through his blindfold. Wait.....saw? Tiresias grabbed his blindfold off almost immediately in hopes to see more of the light. He saw it all, his cave, the decorations Hermes placed, everything he thought he would never see in his existence. Tears flooded down his eyes as scrambled to see everything. Suddenly he heard the flapping of wings. He knew who it was just by the footsteps but something was off. It sounded as the footsteps were stumbling and was being cautious....? Hermes was never cautious.

"HERMES!!" Tiresias tackled his lover in a tight embrace. Hermes let out a sound of surprise before reciprocating the action. Tiresias was little suspicious. Surely Hermes would have seen that Tiresias was running towards him. He looked up to notice that Hermes's headwings were covering his eyes. Oh no...

"How's the eyesight dawling?" Hermes asked affectionately.

"What did you do?" Tiresias asked almost immediately after Hermes had spoke.

"I just pulled some favours to help give your eyesight!" Hermes said with joy but Tiresias could hear the fear in his voice. "Now can you see properly or have I been scammed from my eye-" Hermes pauses, hoping that Tiresias didn't hear the last part.

"Show me your eyes Hermes." Tiresias says. This only made Hermes make his wings hide his eyes more. Tiresias sighs before trying to push the wings away from his eyes gently. Finally Hermes gives in and moves his head-wings from his eyes to reveal his colourless, lifeless eyes. It look as if they had been consumed by a fog, leaving them cold and still.

"Oh Hermes why have you done this my love?" Tiresias observes his eyes closes while holding his face gently.

"I just wanted to help you.."Hermes mumbles guiltily. "Plus I only have to be blind for 2 days from tomorrow and after the 2 days you can still keep your eyesight."

"I know you wanted to help but you can't hurt yourself for me." Tiresias replied softly. Hermes smiles hopefully.

"At least you can see how GORGEOUS I am!" Hermes jokes, not letting his lack of eyesight ruin his energetic self.

Tiresias chuckles. "You're more stunning than I imagined you'd be"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1st day...
Hermes limped into the entrance of Tiresias's cave. He had quite a few collisions while he was delivering messages but now he could finally relax with Tiresias.
Tiresias saw Hermes's brutal injuries and ran to him. "OH GODS! HERMES ARE YOU OKAY?? WHAT HAPPENED?!"
Hermes was about to give Tiresias a full explanation but when he realised how much he had overworked himself all he could croak was, "H-hurt.."
Tiresias immediately lead him to his stone bed covered with a few blankets Hermes had gifted to him over time. "Don't worry. I'm going to get some divine healing items from Persephone and I'll be right back."
He press a kiss to Hermes's cheek before sprinting to the queen of the underworld. Suddenly, it had become very quiet, very quickly. The only noises he could hear was the screams of souls. How did Tiresias even survive this...? The silence and darkness were not a good combination and soon the sounds began to overwhelm him. He covered his ears and curled up into a ball. Tears stung his eyes as he had no luck blocking the noises. The uneasy loneliness was not helping him. He started sobbing and soon after Tiresias finally arrived back at the cave.
"I finally got some stuff-" Tiresias's look of panic melted into empathy. He instantly ran to Hermes's side, embracing him. Hermes was grateful of the touch that comforted him. "I forgot this was your first time being blind. I'm sorry I didn't warn you how scary it can be."
Tiresias instantly started to treat Hermes's injuries. Hermes sniffled while Tiresias dabs his wounds gently with a divine healing potion before wrapping it around tightly with bandages. Hermes winces at the unexpected touch.
"It's scary....being blind." Hermes mumbled quietly.
"I know love.." Tiresias comforted. "It took me years to get used to it and even longer when I reached the underworld."
"How did you do it?" Hermes asks out of the blue.
Tiresias is silent for a moment before smiling gently. "I guess an annoying messenger drowned out the screams."
Hermes chuckles before jokingly replying. "I am NOT annoying dawling."
"Sure you're not." Tiresias ruffles Hermes's hair. "Now get some rest and please don't work tomorrow... I don't want to see you hurt anymore."
Tiresias shifted onto the bed, letting Hermes use his lap as a pillow. He started to play with the other's curls. Hermes's eyes grew heavy and for the first time in a long time, he let himself sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2nd day...

Hermes's eyes fluttered open to see darkness. He panicked for a second as tries to sit up on his elbows. His elbows immediately give up on him and dropped on the bed. He remembered the previous events before relaxing onto the bed. He hears footsteps alongside the scent of food grow louder.

"Hermes, you awake?" Tiresias asks as he places the food next to the bed to play with Hermes's curls once more.

Hermes leans into the touch before mumbling, "Mhmm.."

He was still in quite a bit of pain since his injuries were still healing so Tiresias helped him sit against the wall.

"Persephone bought some food." Tiresias bought some fruit to his mouth. "Eat. I know you haven't ate in a long time."

"Dawling I always EAT 💜" Hermes exclaims.

Tiresias sighs, "Not that kind of eat..."

He pushes the fruit closer to the other's mouth who kept their lips shut.

"I don't like that fruit though." Hermes replies but his stomach rumbles in disagreement.

"I'm not giving you moly Hermes... you’re very difficult to care for when eat that plant." Tiresias replied calmly. Hermes mumbles in disagreement. Tiresias rolled his eyes before pushing the food even closer to the messenger's mouth. Hermes finally gave in and ate the whole plate with a minute.

"Yum! 😋 Do you have more?" Hermes asks.

"Huh? I remember you saying you didn't like fruits?" Tiresias teased.

"My tastebuds change a lot I guess. Can I have more now?" Hermes repeated.

"Okay, okay I'll get some more, just wait here." Tiresias laughed as he walks out to find where he placed the second plate of fruit.

When returned to the room with the second plate, he nearly dropped it. Where was Hermes??

"HERMES?!" Tiresias shouted as the echo repeated against the wall. Questions began to form in his head: did he wander away?, did he get bored? or... did he go back to work? Tiresias sat down, knowing that he did probably go to work, as impatiently tapped his restless leg on the floor repeatedly hoping he wouldn't injure himself more.

A few hours after, golden sparkles appears. There stood Hermes waving his hands around, trying to find out where he was. Tiresias ran up to him and gently grabbed his arms.

"Where have you been, my dear?" Tiresias asked with care.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to leave. There was a meeting and I had to go or else I'd be late to another meeting. I promise I didn't mean to make you worrie-" Hermes's rambling is cut off when Tiresias puts a finger on his mouth to silence him.

"I forgave you hours ago. I just wanted to know if you were okay." Tiresias gave him a warm smile even though Hermes couldn't see it. "And of course I'm going to worry about you. You won't believes how many reckless acts you do."

Hermes sighs in relief. "Thank you dawling."

"Don't thank me. I always worry about people I care for." Tiresias brushes his hand over Hermes's face. "Now come on, It's time you have some rest. I can hear the tiredness in your voice."

Hermes's eyes began to close at the word rest. Tiresias guided him to the bed. They slept next to each other, hugging one another for warmth.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Eye reveal...
Hermes woke and blinked eyes for a few times. He saw the cave, the plate of fruit left behind yesterday and Tiresias sleeping soundly next to him.
He instantly sat up. "I can see. I CAN SEE!"
Tiresias rubbed his eyes. "You can- what?"
"I'm sorry dawling. I didn't mean to wak-" Hermes pauses as he sees Tiresias stare right at his eyes. Tiresias couldn't stop staring. The soulless grey eyes had got its sparkle of life back and it was gorgeous.
He saw Hermes's godly, golden brown eyes shine up the entire room. He saw the gradient of gold in Hermes's irises as a thin edge of brown surrounded it.
"Your eyes are like caramel. I could stare into it forever." Hermes's cheeks flushes at the comment.
"Thank you my dawling love." Hermes mumbles shyly. "People always used to call it pretty."
"Pretty is an understatement. They are breathtaking." Hermes couldn't hold the blush in. Tiresias giggles at their flustered partner.
Chapter Text
Tiresias peeked through the entrance of the cave to see Hermes giving a prophecy.
"Two truths and one lie!" Hermes giggles. "Ahem...you die, you live and you die."
The man who was receiving the prophecy was stunned. "I DIE?! FROM WHAT?" Hermes giggles even more.
"That would ruin the surprise dawling! Now toodles." Hermes says before pushing the man off the cliff, knowing he won't die yet.
"How did you even find that prophecy funny?" Tiresias says before entering the cave.
"Everyone dies at some point. I didn't even tell him how he would die, it could be of old age." Hermes replies.
"Does he die from old age?" Tiresias asks even though he knew the answer.
"NOPE! He dies in a war." Hermes replies cheerfully despite the dark information he had said. Tiresias sighs as explored the cave more.
"You visit me more often than usual you know? Why's that? Is it because you left me for a month?" Hermes asks letting his playful personality falter a bit.
"No. Just thought you would enjoy the company especially in the gloomy underworld.." Tiresias lied. He now knew that he has feelings for the prophet yet he does not have the courage to tell him.
"I guess that's true. It's not all gloomy after I saw you." Hermes cackles to himself. "HAHA I just realised that I CAN'T see you but yet I said I did."
Tiresias smiles gently. "I could listen to your laugh forever." Tiresias mumbles quietly.
Hermes pauses, "You said something?"
"NOTHING!" Tiresias says too quickly. He blushes and is thankful that Hermes is blind.
"Whatever you say. Now tell me all the gossip dawling. Don't try to tell me there's none because I know that something is always happening up there." Tiresias rolls his eyes at Hermes's demand before recounting all the events that had happened in Olympus. After he is done, there was a moment of quietness which was quickly interrupted by Hermes who yawned.
"Did my stories bore you that much?" Tiresias says teasingly.
"No no just did a lot of work.." Hermes replied as his eyes grew heavier. Tiresias got suspicious.
"How many prophecies did you give?" Tiresias worried that Hermes had overworked himself once more.
"About 5.." Tiresias saw through Hermes's lie.
"Don't lie to me." Tiresias said, his worry started to grow.
"Fine dawling." Hermes says as his fatigue creeped into his voice before quietly muttering "35..."
"35?! That's too many mortals coming for life-altering prophecies. Why did you look into the spaces of time so much?"
Hermes is quiet for a minute. "I wanted to see when you were going to come to visit and if you were okay... you took a day longer than usual so I thought you left me."
Tiresias blushed some more. "You know you could've just called me right?"
"Oh...I thought you would be busy dawling." Hermes mumbled as his fatigue grew more and more.
"I'd never be busy for you." Tiresias says before covering his mouth after realising what he had said.
Suddenly, Hermes's sleepiness had a disappeared, "You'd do that for me? Why?" He said sounding genuinely confused.
Maybe it was time for Tiresias to confess...
"I have to tell you something... and you might not want to be friends after this...but I need to get it off my chest." Tiresias replies.
"I'll always be your friend!" Hermes argues. "Now tell me please."
"....I love you Hermes..." Tiresias confesses, blushing furiously. He saw Hermes's grey, pearl like eyes stare at him with shock. What has he done? Why did he confess? Was Hermes ever going to talk to him again? Before Tiresias could spiral even further, he saw Hermes reach his arms out to try touch Tiresias's face. Tiresias grabbed his wrists to guide the hands to his face. He felt the hand move around his face before touching on his lips. In an instant, his lips were connected with Hermes's. The action shocked Tiresias for a second before he decided to kiss back. When they finally separated, they both stared at each other with affection.
"I love you too Tire dawling." Hermes replies after a long period of silence. "Promise you won't ghost me."
"Only if you promise not to give as many prophecies" Tiresias replies lovingly. "and also not call me Tire."
"You're my boyfriend now so I can call you whatever I want." Hermes joked. "And also it wasn't my fault that you decided to ghost me after visiting me loads-"
Hermes is cut off as he is pulled into another kiss.
"Shut up." Tiresias said even though it had no bite.
"You know I can't." Hermes stated.
Chapter Text
Tiresias was calmly looking through his prophecies until he heard a loud crash next to him.
"oww...☹️" Hermes groaned.
"Hermes?!" Tiresias reaches his hands out to find Hermes
"Heyy dawling." Hermes kisses Tiresias's palm. Tiresias blushed since the last time Hermes flirted with him was months ago when Hermes confessed to him as an 'April fools day' prank.
"What happened and why did you crash here?" Tiresias asked curiously.
"Too many questions dawling," Hermes says drunkily.
"It was only two.." Tiresias rolls his eyes. Then he smelled a familiar smell of a specific flower. "Hermes...how many moly did you take?"
"WOAH! How did you know dawling? :D" Hermes says as he tries to change the subject. He sees the frown on Tiresias's face before replying, "1..."
"Even I can see thats a lie herme-" Tiresias is cut off.
"-Hundred" Hermes mumbles.
"WHAT?" Tiresias shouts. He feels Hermes flinch and instantly regrets shouting. "Is there anything I can do to help you?"
Hermes mumbles something before hugging Tiresias tightly. Tiresias sighs but doesn't push back.
Hermes was on the brink of sleep before grumbling, "Love you dawling...."
Tiresias eyes widened. Did Hermes just confess his love or was it just the moly?
"You what?" Tiresias asks.
"Love you. Have you gone deaf as well?" Hermes looks at Tiresias's silenced and flustered state.
"Well I guess I love you too my dear." Tiresias finally replies before kissing Hermes's forehead. Now it was Hermes's turn to blush. He hugs Tiresias even tighter before falling into a peaceful sleep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

2 Hours later...

Hermes rubbed his eyes before waking up.....in Tiresias arms? Was this a dream? Everything from a few hours ago was a blur but he could remember....CONFESSING TO TIRESIAS?! Hermes leaped off Tiresias's arms and began to apologise.

"Why do you keep apologising Hermes?" Tiresias questions.

"I'm sorry that I confessed to you," Tiresias raises an eyebrow.

"So what? Didn't I say I love you as well?" Tiresias stated.

"You did?"

"I'm pretty sure I did my dear." Tiresias says sarcastically while trying to stifle a chuckle. Hermes blushes at the nickname.

"oh..." Hermes says quietly. Tiresias couldn't hold his laugh anymore.

Chapter Text

It had been 3 months since Hermes's banishment from the underworld yet his heart still yearned to the one who he cared most about. Even after trying to forget Tiresias, the rock that laid on his bedside table kept reminding him about all the happiness and loyalty the two had shared yet it also reminded him of what he lost. The night became insufferable as questions haunted his state of mind.

What if he had left earlier?

What if he wasn't so late?

What if Tiresias blamed him?

What if Tiresias doesn't love him anymore?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tiresias had always kept the feather with him even though it hadn't been cleaned or washed. The ichor still held onto the feather and it didn't seem like it would go away for a long time.  Every time his visions became too much, he would clung onto the feather, hoping to find some comfort in it even though it only reminded him about what he could never gain back. Tears of sadness would flood his eyes as he tries to remember how Hermes felt like. Even after 3 months, he still remembers the way Hermes would laugh and fly around. His intoxicating and bright joy was the only thing Tiresias looked forward to. Now that light has extinguished and it won't ever be lit up the same.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Zeus started to notice his son's distraught. First, it was messages being sent slower and sloppier which wasn't that bad but then the corridors of Olympus had an uneasy quietness. The laughter that usually filled the hallways were now nowhere to be found. All the gods had noticed it but none of them dared to speak up about it. Well....no one except Hades.

"Have you not noticed how much more glum Olympus has been?" Hades argued. "If I were blind, I would've mistaken it for the underworld. You can't break love and then expect them to move on."

"Hermes is just getting lazy." Zeus ignores his brother's arguments.

"Heartbreak is not laziness brother. Of course you wouldn't know the pain your own son is going through," Hades rolls his eyes. "Just let him see love once more. The underworld is getting more busy with one less psychopomp."

Zeus glares at his older brother. "Fine I shall let him see love once more."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hermes enters the meeting room trembling, afraid he will get yet another punishment for doing his job sloppily.
"Hello father," Hermes greets in a monotone voice trying his best to hide the fear laced in his voice.
"Hermes! My dearest son." Zeus tries to play the good and caring father yet anyone would've been able to tell who he really was like. "I see that you're getting worse at the messages,"
"I'm sorry. I promise won't fail you," Hermes replies but fails to hide his panicked state.
"Calm down my son. I have realised I have made a mistake," Hermes is stunned. Was Zeus really going to let him see Tiresias again?
"You have never made mistakes father.." Hermes says, hoping that it would increase his chances at seeing his prophet again.
"Well my oldest brother seems to think otherwise," Zeus grumbles. Hermes never expected his uncle to be on his side, he believed that his uncle was with Zeus since he would do the bare minimum as a psychopomp.
"Anyways I've decided it's time for you to get married," Zeus says. Hermes heart hammered against his heart. Was his 3 months of torture finally over? Hermes's excitement lasted for short time when his father said, "I have found you a pretty nymph for you to marry."
"WHAT?!" Hermes realised he shouted when Zeus raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry....but, respectfully father, why??"
"I took my brother's advice. Now be prepared your wedding is in a week." As if he wanted to add salt to the wound, he added, "Also you may invite anyone you would like. Oh and do tell the prophet to come as well."
When Zeus left the room, Hermes circled into a ball and started sobbing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Tiresias tried to forget Hermes but he didn't have the heart to. He sat on the edge of the cliff, praying that love would never hurt him again. Suddenly, he heard a familiar flutter of wings.

"HERMES?!" Tiresias shouts desperately, hoping it wasn't his imagination anymore

"Tiresias..." A hint of sadness could be heard in Hermes's voice still a speck of hopefulness was also present in his voice . Tiresias runs to the voice, knowing that the other would always catch him. They embrace each other for a few minutes but Hermes knew what he had to say.

"Tiresias.." He repeats, not daring to let go of the embrace. "I have a message for you from Zeus..."

Tiresias heart dropped but his affection didn't, "Keep talking I want to listen to you forever."

Hermes lets out a chuckle for the first time in a long time. "Well he has invited you to a wedding.."

Tiresias was stunned. The kings of gods inviting a measly, blind prophet to a wedding? He knew immediately something was wrong. "Who's wedding, my dearest?"

Hermes is quiet for a minute, "...mine.."

Tiresias pushes away from the embrace in which he immediately regretted when all warmth was lost. "You're getting married?.."

"Not by choice..I started to do worse in my job and Zeus thought i needed 'love',"  Hermes explains. He hand Tiresias a letter. "Its forged so you can read it. Zeus really didn't want you to miss out on it so much....I'm sorry..."

Tiresias gave his partner a sad grin, "This was never your fault dear."

Tiresias pulls their lips together and they finally kissed after 3 months of pure sadness and pain. Hermes reluctantly pulls away.

"I must go. I have many invites to give." Hermes is silent for a second. "......will I ever see you again?"

"Of course, I'll be with you for every step even if you can't see me." Tiresias reassures.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The wedding...
Hermes is in the most finest silks yet his dried tears seems to dull his stunning suit. Hermes didn't even want to marry the nymph but his father wasn't taking 'no' for an answer. Hermes hears a knock on his door.
"Hermes?" A worried Apollo calls out before carefully opening the door. He saw his teary-eyed brother.
"Dam...you really don't want to marry that nymph do you?" Apollo lets out a sad chuckle. Hermes doesn't respond. He stares sorrowfully at his brother.
"Please don't leave me too.." He mumbles quietly while he goes to hold his brother tightly. Apollo holds back a sob and ruffles his brothers hair.
"You know....you may be the god of lies but yet you always come to the truth anyways." Apollo remarks.
"..What are you trying to say?" The weeping god asks.
"What I'm saying is that maybe its time for you to come to the truth.." Before Hermes could even think about what his brother just said, Aphrodite bursted through the door and started shouting "YOUR LATE FOR YOUR OWN WEDDING CEREMONY!!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hermes stood in front of the stand where Hera was waiting to officiate the marriage. His eyes scan for one person. He completely ignores his 'bride' walking down the aisle. He finally found Tiresias sitting in the middle row with a melancholy smile. He looked alive, maybe because it was to come to Hermes's marriage. Hermes saw him wear the fabrics had bought him when they had started dating. His mind started to drift happily back to those memories when a voice snapped him out of his daze.

"Hermes?!" Hera says as frustration laced into her voice.

"Umm yes Queen Hera?.." Hermes asks nervously as Hera glared at him as if to say did you really not hear what i said?

"We gather here today, two hearts unite in an act of true love and commitment. With open arms, they invite each other to share the joys–as well as challenges–that their marriage may bring them over this journey of life together." Hera repeats. Hermes is tempted to roll his eyes but Hera was still staring at him. "Hermes, do you take Kiki as your lawfully wedded wife?"

Hermes's eyes widen when he realises for the first time, he was finally given a choice. His eyes look between Tiresias and the nymph. The choice was overwhelming him as he know this will impact him for the rest of his immortal life.

"...no.." Hermes declares. He looks at his stepmother's confused state as his eyes turn to see his father's enraged look. Without thinking twice, he flew to Tiresias and carried him and flew far from Olympus.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Hermes finally found a place where Zeus wouldn't find him, he dropped Tiresias on the floor who was clinging to Hermes.
"What were you thinking?!" Tiresias lightly scolded as he knew the exhausted state of his partner due to flying for hours.
Hermes fell on his knees. "Tiresias, ever since I laid my eyes on you I remember all the silly fantasies i had of us getting married. I bought you those clothes knowing that you will wear them to our wedding."
Tiresias is silent."You told me that when we first got together.."
A faint smile appears on Hermes's face, "I have been living in a void of lies for centuries. Even with my godly intelligence, I didn't know that I would finally escape due to a dim but bright light in the underworld. You have always allowed me to be truthful and so to repay you for letting me come to the truth I ask you.."Hermes pauses thinking if he will regret this choice but ultimately coming to a conclusion. "Will you marry me?"
"YES!" Tiresias shouted as he kneeled to embrace Hermes. Hermes leans into the hug before snoring in Tiresias's arms. Tiresias chuckles before shifting into a more comfortable position.
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Tiresias heard a flutter of wings and the rustling of plastic come closer to his cave.
"Hermes!" Tiresias smiles. "What have you bought this time?"
"Mmhmhlhd!" Hermes mumbles as his mouthful of sweets block his speech.
Tiresias blinks, "What did you say my dear?"
A big gulp is heard before Hermes speaks, "Sweets dawling! Did you know there's a mortal celebration called Halloween where you knock on doors and get free sweets :D ?"
Tiresias sighs sadly as he knows he doesn't have the heart to lie to Hermes, "Yes I did dear.."
Hermes gasps at the betrayal, "Why didn't you tell me then? :( "
"I knew you would get too much sweets and then end up sick." Tiresias sighs once more. "I guess I knew this day would come."
"well.." Hermes feels bad for making Tiresias sad. "You wanna try some?"
Hermes holds out a sour gummy bear. Tiresias hesitantly grabs and eats the gummy. Not even a second after, Tiresias's face wrinkles in disgust.
"It's too sour." Tiresias says as he tries to get rid of the taste.
"You just have bad taste." Hermes replies as he inhales more sweets.
"Stop eating the sweets. You're going to get sick my dear."
Hermes doesn't listen instead he eat even more.
"Don't cry when I say I told you so." Tiresias grumbles.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A few hours later...

"ughh.." Hermes groans in Tiresias's shoulder as he wraps his arms around his lover.

"I told you so.." Tiresias whispers while gently rubbing circles on Hermes's back.

"It was so worth it dawling..." Hermes grumbles back.

"Was it really worth the 20 throw ups you have had so far and the one coming up soon?" Tiresias questioned teasingly.

"At least they were all rainbow." Hermes mumbles as he tries his best not to throw up again so he can prove his point.

Tiresias rolls his eyes, "Thats it, you're going to eat some soup."

Tiresias can feel Hermes try wiggle out of his arms but he is too sick to escape. "I don't wanna eat THE soup!" Hermes continued to wiggle.

"I don't know why you don't like soup." Tiresias mutters.

"I LIKE SOUP, JUST NOT 'THE SOUP'!" Hermes argues.

"..'The soup' isn't any different to any other soup Hermes and before you can try complain, I've already made up my mind.." Tiresias counteracts. Hermes grumbles in defeat as he lays on the stone bed, waiting for Tiresias to make his 'disgusting soup doom'. When Tiresias made the soup,  Hermes pushed the bowl back.

"It smells funny.." Hermes complained.

Tiresias pushed the soup back towards Hermes, "Just drink dear, I promise you'll feel better."

Hermes gives up at trying to avoid the soup and eventually pinches his nose and swallow the soup in one go. He immediately gags but he was able to not spit out the soup.

"EW EW EW EW!" Hermes screeches like a wailing baby. Tiresias giggles at his partner's exaggerated reaction.

"Come on dear. You might want to sleep now." Tiresias says as he sits on the sofa while *hopefully* pointing towards the bed. Hermes ignores him and sleeps on his lap. Tiresias quietly chuckles before gently playing with the other's hair.

TW: BLOOD AND VIOLENCE(?)

As Tiresias waited for his beloved's next visit, the world started to spin as he was forcefully dragged into a vision. When the dizziness finally stopped, he saw a bundle of feathers scattered around a dark meeting room as a pool of ichor leaked throughout the floor. He ventured further into the vision as worry began to creep into him. Then, he saw it. Something he thought he would never have to see. There laid his love, Hermes, drenched in his own ichor. His enchanting wings were burnt at the tips as the feathers clumped due to the sticky ichor between them. The brown curls he took pride was jagged and disheveled. Tears ran down Hermes's lifeless eyes as a single line of ichor dripped from the corner of his mouth.His usual cheerful smile was replaced by a soulless grimace. His hands were darkened with burn marks. Lightning scars ran through his arms as they emitted a powerful electric aura. Tiresias ran to his side as he tried to cradle his partner's head only for his hands to pass right through it.

"T-Tiresias..." were the last words Hermes said before exhaling for the last time ever.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Tiresias."
"Tiresias!"
"TIRESIAS!" Hermes shook Tiresias out of his vision. Tiresias's eyes fluttered wildly as the green glow in his eyes faded away. He turned to see to see his alive boyfriend. Tiresias instantly embraced him tightly as his if to capture all his warmth.......while it lasted.
"You're alive. You're alive." Tiresias repeated like a broken record as he tried to reassure himself.
"I am very much alive dawling. Have you forgotten that I'm a god?" Hermes giggled nervously. "Anyways Apollo said you had a prophecy for me? I really didn't want to  make you feel like just a prophet but he said it was urgen-"
"NO!" Tiresias shouted frantically. "No no no no no no...It wasn't a prophecy. It can't be!"
Tiresias began to sob harshly onto to Hermes's shoulder. Hermes began to soothe Tiresias as he gently rubbed his back. Tiresias's cries slowly began to dissolve into sniffles and shallow gasps.
"I s-saw golden f-feathers." Tiresias squeezed his eyes closed as he tries to erase the image of Hermes dead from his mind.
Hermes stills for a second, “But my feathers are white?..."
"I can't say anymore........I'm sorry." Tiresias continued to quietly cry on Hermes's shoulder.
"Shh its alright.." Hermes continued to comfort his partner as he tried his best to hide the fear he truly felt. They embraced for a few minutes before Hermes announced, "I have to go dawling."
"NO! Please don't leave me..." Tiresias begged Hermes, hoping that it might change his doom.
"I'm sorry dawling but I have a lot more deliveries to get through." Hermes saw the desperate look on Tiresias's face. "I promise I'll be back soon dawling!"
Hermes quickly kissed Tiresias before flying away. Tiresias collapsed onto his knees and wept. He knew that as soon as his prophecies were seen, there was no way from stopping the inevitable. He silently begged the three sisters to have mercy on Hermes's fate.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At Olympus...

Hermes had finally finished his duties but was called over to the meeting room by Zeus.

"Father! What have I done now to get in trouble?” Hermes joked nervously.

“You know what you did Hermes…” Zeus grumbled angrily. Hermes blinked, he genuinely didn’t know what ruckus he had caused now. Zeus rolls his eyes at his son’s confused expression before replying, “You intervened with Odysseus’s journey by giving him moly.”

Hermes’s eyes widened. He knew that his father hated divine intervention for the benefit of mortals. How did father figure out? He stood paralysed as Zeus raised his crackling lightning bolt towards him.

“I’m sorry father! But please be rational with your punishment.” Hermes begged but it was too late now. When his father let the lightning bolt land on him, a gut-wrenching scream escaped his mouth. The flash of light blinded his eyes while every part of his body burned. He felt electricity sting in his veins. His sensitive wings tried to protect themselves by hiding in his brown curls yet they could not escape the white, searing hot pain that surrounded him. He felt himself crashing onto the floor with a loud thud. When the blinding light from the bolt finally disappeared, he felt his back soaked in his own ichor. His burnt wings flared out, hoping to find some kind of comfort on the cool floor. He felt his ichor dry up in his hair and wings. He turned his head slightly to see a feather of his covered in ichor…….a golden feather. Only one thought came to his mind before his body went to an eternal rest.

“T-Tiresias…” He let the air in his lungs escape for the last time.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The underworld…
Tiresias sat on a cliff, trying to find other future of Hermes in which he wouldn’t die in. He was unsuccessful. He heard familiar footsteps come closer to him.
“Tiresias…” Hermes whispered. Tiresias had already started to run up to him, ready to bask in his warmth but this time Hermes felt cold….like he was dead.
“Why do you feel like ice, my dearest?” Tiresias asked even though he knew the answer. Hermes sank into Tiresias’s shoulder, crying. The conformation hurt Tiresias even more than it should’ve.
“….’m sorry..” Hermes stuttered between sobs.
“It wasn’t your fault, my dear.” Tiresias tries his best to keep his tears from falling but fails to do so.
The couple wept in each other’s arms for hours before drifting off to a not-so-peaceful sleep.
Chapter Text
Exhaustion ran through Hermes's body after making a life with nothing but magic. Not only that, now there was a screaming baby whose cries would echo through Tiresias's cave.  The only one smiling in the cave was Tiresias who was busy lulling the baby. When he finally got the baby to shush, he turned to face Hermes, his smile immediately fading into a frown. Hermes was slumped on the sofa, trying not to sleep.
"Why did you bring a baby?" He whispered though his tone sounded frustrated.
Hermes flog blinks for a second before slurring, "You said you wanted to take this relationship more seriously.."
"I meant it by moving in together..not by creating a child out of nothing!!" Tiresias says quietly as he actively tries his best not to shout so he wouldn't have to deal with the baby's cries anymore.
"oh..'m sorry.." Hermes replies as his tiredness grew louder in his voice. Tiresias tried to stay angry but his worry crept up when he heard Hermes's exhausted state. Tiresias decided to sit next to Hermes carefully trying not to disturb the baby who slept peacefully in his arms.
"I guess I have two chaotic babies to care of now." Tiresias jokes lightly. He can feel Hermes's  smile as Hermes leans into Tiresias's shoulder.
"I'll always be your favourite right, my dawling?" Hermes mumbles onto Tiresias's shoulder.
"We'll see about that, my love. This one is already winning in adorableness." Tiresias teases as he gently lifts the baby up.
"Nooo.." Hermes mumbles tiredly but with a mocking tone.
"Have you named her yet?" Tiresias asks curiously.
"No but i got some ideas! What about first name Holy and last name Moly? :D " Hermes says excitedly.
"We aren't naming our child a plant my dear..." Tiresias sighs when Hermes tries to reason that 'moly' was a good name.
"Ok fine! what about....hmm...Melora BUT her nickname is Molly." Hermes announce enthusiastically. Tiresias hums in thought of the suggestion.
"Melora...it is quite a cute name I guess." Tiresias faces down at the baby snoring quietly in his arms.
"AWW she's smiling!" Hermes says quietly who also hopes of not waking the usually screaming Molly. The two snuggle in before drifting off to one of the last peaceful sleeps they'll have without an annoying child.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the morning...

Tiresias wakes up to the smell of...chocolate croissants? Tiresias sat up to hear Hermes's happily singing and Molly babbling.

"How is she already babbling? She barely existed for a day." Tiresias questions.

"Well she is half me and I did do spectacular things when I was a day old." Hermes remarked which made Tiresias chuckle. "My dawling believe me! Shes already eating one of the greatest delicacies in the world..CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS!"

Tiresias nearly chokes on the air, "YOU'RE ALREADY FEEDING HER FOODS LIKE THAT?"

He rushes over to the two before realising that Molly was digesting the food just fine with no rashes or vomiting.

"I did want to feed her Apollo's cows but I knew he would kill me so I had to stick with the second best thing." Hermes admitted sadly. Hermes finally saw Tiresias's stunned and slightly panicked state. "MY DAWLING SHE'S HALF ME! OF COURSE SHE CAN AND WILL EAT CHOCOLATE CROISSANTS! YOU KNOW WHAT I DID WHEN I WAS BORN RIGHT?"

Tiresias obviously knew how Hermes's managed to steal his elder half-brother's cows and do a sacrifice some of the them to the gods (including him obviously). When Apollo found him, Hermes managed to bribe his brother to let him keep the cows that were alive with a lyre (a/n Just found out lyre sounds like liar HAHA). That's when it hit Tiresias. Molly is probably going to grow much faster than normal children. Sadness washed over him as he remembers when his own children he had when he was an alive. When they had grown up, he told himself  he would’ve of done anything for them to be the size of both his palms again. His eyes welled up tears as he realises Molly would be much quicker to grow up.

“You alright Tire?” Hermes noticed Tiresias silently crying.

“Yes I am fine…just didn’t expect Molly to grow so quickly..” Tiresias instantly feels Hermes’s embrace who also holds Molly between them as they hug. His tears subsided as return the warmth of love from Hermes and Molly.

Notes:

MOLLY IS GONNA BE IMPORTANT SINCE SHE MIGHT APPEAR IN FUTURE FIC. Also since you’ve read the whole fic ig I can tell you how Molly was made in the rp….mpreg Hermes.

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

A 1-year-old Molly squirmed in her godly father's arms as her parents walked towards the Ithaca family's palace. Hermes tries keep her still by tightening his grip but somehow managed to move around his arms.

 "Gods she's like a mini me dawling." Hermes says as he struggles to keep her in one place.

"That is because she is a mini you. Its like she's a carbon copy of you but the only thing that is similar between me and Molly is our hair and eyes" Tiresias says.

"WELL I BIRTHED HER DAWLING AND STILL SHE HAS MORE OF YOUR LOOKS THAN MINE!" Hermes argues with mock anger.

"You didn't birth her dear.... You magicked her." Tiresias responds while rolling his eyes.  As the couple argued, another pair of lovebirds were able to catch up to them.

"Hello teabag." Hermes lets out a high pitched scream and nearly drops Molly when he is jump scared. Circe bursts out laughing uncontrollably. "Did I scare you that much, you skittle?"

"At least I don't make men into pigs everyday." Hermes grumbles. He spots Telemachus walking beside Circe before offering, "Want some moly dawling?"

"No thank yo-" Telemachus is instantly cut off by his partner.

"I'M NOT LETTING YOU DRUG MY FAMILY HERMES!" Circe shouts at him. Hermes dramatically tries to act innocent as the four walked towards the palace.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At the door of the palace...
KNOCK KNOCK!
Immediately, the door flew wide open. There stood a grinning Odysseus in the doorway.
"HELLO! Come on in! The tea is gonna get cold." He stood to the side to usher his guests inside. the four are lead by Odysseus to the dining room. They meet a patient Penelope waiting for them.
"Hello teabags and tea dumpers and Molly," Penelope said calmly. Molly babbled who-knows-what to Penelope.
"OOH Pen I got you a gift!" Hermes announces before reaching into his messenger bag while holding Molly on his other hand.
"My name is Penelope, Herpes, not Pen.."Penelope sighs.
"I don't care dawling. I like calling you a ballpoint pen" Hermes replies. Soon after, he finally found what he was looking for. He threw a tiny bag in front of Penelope.
When she looks in the bag, she threw it back at Hermes's face before saying, "I DON'T WANT YOUR DRUGS, RAINBOW!"
Hermes rolls his eyes, "This family has no taste at all.."
He took the bag and grabbed a handful of moly before it got snatched.
"You're not getting high in a tea party Hermes.." Tiresias as he grips the plant away from Hermes so he can't get it back.
"aw man.... :( " Hermes replies sorrowfully.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1 hour of spilling tea after...

Hermes reaches for a biscuit (YES BISCUIT NOT COOKIE) as Circe kept spilling tea. Molly was sitting on the table next to Tiresias and was far was too busy trying to grab the moly out of his hands.

"So P went F and the R and then to K and then they got caught by Z 2.0!" Circe kept saying a bunch of letter which confused almost everyone.

"Wait who was K again?" Telemachus asked groggily.

"YOU SHOULD BE LISTENING TELECOMMUNICATIONS!" Circe says, clearly annoyed by the question because it was the only question Telemachus has been asking for the past hour.

"How can you listen when someone like Penelope is front of you Circle?" Odysseus replies for his son. His eyes were still glued to his wife.

"You flatter me Ody ❤️." Penelope replies back, lovingly.

"Holy glaze 💀" Tiresias says. The others look at him with confused stares. "I keep forgetting I'm the only prophet here.."

They are all silent for a moment before Penelope asked, "So what did Z 2.0 do, circle?"

"HE SNITCHED ON US!" Circe announces dramatically.

"Huh?" Odysseus said who finally stopped staring at his wife. "I didn't hear you.."

"Old man.." Circe replies.

"Wait who was Z 1.0?" Telemachus asked as Circe angrily stared at him.

"I saw that happenin-" Tiresias is cut off.

"YOU CAN'T SEE DAWLING HAHAHAHAHA" Hermes laughs his ass out as Circe shouted at Odysseus and mildly told off Telemachus for not listening. Molly decided to scream because there was already a lot of noise so why not add more? The dining room was filled with shouts and laughs of the entire family except Penelope's. She was too busy sipping her tea as her family broke sound barriers. She was too responsible for this shit 🙄.

Chapter Text

"Dawlin-" Hermes's excited shout was instantly cut off.

"DAD!" A 5-year-old Molly shouts out. "YOU HAVE TO HELP! PLEASEEE!"

"Calm down Molly. I know maths is hard but can't you ask your other dad-" Hermes is cut off once more.

"OTHER DAD IS SICK AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" Molly shouts as tears welled up in her eyes. Hermes's playful expression instantly twists into a worried look.

"Where is he Molly?" Hermes's scared tone worries Molly more.

"In the cave..." Molly's voice came out small and shaky. They both rushed into the cave in which they are met by Tiresias laying on the bed weakly. He looked as if he was...transparent?

"Hermes...." Tiresias's voice was quieter than a whisper. "I was expecting you.."

Hermes sprinted to his side and cradled his head.

"Please don't go dawling.." Hermes choked out a sob, knowing what was going to happen.

"Don't cry my dear.. At least we had this much time together.." Tiresias said calmly as his hand went up to Hermes's curls like he always used to do.

"But we got the ‘together forever’ that we wanted." Hermes replied quietly.

"I know but being with you is much more than I deserved.." Tiresias murmured faintly.

"You deserved the moon, the stars, the sun, the day, the night, the Earth, the univers-" Hermes heard Tiresias make a small shushing noise.

"Yet I got to do something that has much more worth." Tiresias uttered softly.

"What was it my dawling?" Hermes asked said through tears yet a hint of curiosity peeked through his voice.

"..I got to call you mine.." Tiresias managed to rasp out. The dam in Hermes's eyes broke and he began to harshly sob. Tiresias began to violently cough which caused Hermes to try quieten down. A moment of silence filled the atmosphere before Tiresias broke the quietness.

"Do you remember my daughters?" His fragile voice spoke out.

"Molly?" Hermes sniffled.

"No no Manto, Daphne and Historis.." Tiresias forced out as he struggled to breathe.

"Of course dawling.." Hermes loved hearing about Tiresias's daughters.

"C-could you sing the song I used always sing to them before bed?" Tiresias stuttered.

"I'd be honoured to dawling." Hermes spoke on a shuddering breath before gently singing a song he remembered. It was the only only song Tiresias ever sang to him. His broken voice ruined the melody of the song but he still pushed through and continued to sing. He heard Tiresias's small voice humming to the tune he was singing. By the time they finished, Molly had rested her head on the bed where Tiresias was lying on.

"Take care of Molly, my dear Hermes.." Tiresias managed to say with what little strength he had left. "I love you both more than anything this world can offer me.."

He took a final breath before vanishing as if he was never there. His body was nowhere to be found  like he never left a mark but he did. Molly lost a parent that was supposed to raise her, a parent that was supposed to watch her grow, a parent that would always be by her side. Hermes lost a partner, a lover,…a part of him.

Hermes knew he had no time to grieve. Molly needed him…..but he needed someone too.

“Where did he go, dad?” Molly asked with her tear stained cheeks.

“Somewhere better than this old cave I hope.” Hermes replied honestly. Molly tightly hugged her dad and wailed and Hermes couldn’t help but grieve with her. After all, a part of their family had disappeared forever.
