Chapter Text

It was usually a great pleasure to watch death take over a mortal soul. However, right now, stood on the top balcony, Morticia can feel nothing but pain.

1987- Nevermore Academy

As the cars continued to pull into the school gates, Gomez Addams looked on in quiet astonishment. The school was more magnificent then he could ever imagine. Since he was young Gomez had always looked forward to attending Nevermore, his parents never enrolled him in the normie school system, deciding to school him themselves. His mother primed him to be the best possible student whereas his father encouraged chaos and leadership. He knew he was going to thrive here.

Pulling into the large school gates, Morticia Frump looked at her mother in distain. She couldnt help but feel like this was a punishment. Her mother had promised her when she was young that when her visions came she would help her to master the craft just like she did with her older sister, but after the first one occured and she told her mother what she saw, she was immediately enrolled in Nevermore. Morticia knew that she was the odd one in the family, both her mother and sister were Ravens, their visions were often dark, foreshadowing doom, but she was a Dove her visions were positive and light and she knew that dissapointed her mother.

As the car pulled to a stop Mortica tucked her long black hair behind her ear and stepped into the autumn air reveling in its chill. She was quickly pushed asside by her sister. “Move Morticia” The blonde haired girl ran ahead joining a group of teenage girls grabbing them in a hug. “Ophelia, is that your sister?” A tall red head asked. The blonde turned to glare at her younger sibling, “Yes. But just ignore her, thats what I plan on doing anyways”. “She’s not going to be tagging a long with us is she?” A girl with short brunette hair questioned. “Not if she knows whats good for her.” And with that Ophelia and her group of friends followed the Frumps butler carrying the sisters bags into the school. “Morticia” Hester Frump addressed her daughter firmly. “Let me make this clear, you are hear to learn in a school that will protect you, not to focus on those childish fantasy visions of yours. Do I make myself clear?”. “Yes mother”. Hester watched as her youngest child turned to follow her sister before narrowing her eyes and returing to the car to wait for the families butler to return.

“So son what do you think?” Mortimer Addams asked. “Its amazing” Gomez turned to look at his father, they were stood in his dorm room, 3 sets of bunkbeds filled the area with all 4 walls blank and grey. Lurch the Addam’s butler placed Gomez’s bags at foot of an empty bed “Your bags Sir.” “Why thank you Lurch”. Gomez picked them up and immediately started unpacking. Mortimer placed his hands on his eldests shoulder. “Now son. The friends you make here will be your brothers for life so choose wisely and don’t forget if a friendly dual wont fix a situation then blackmail is the way to go.” Gomez turned “Yes farther.” “Now I must be going back I have a meeting in New York and your mother insisted I should be home for dinner. I’ll see you at Christmas.” With a final smile at his son, “Make us proud.” “I will. Goodbye father give my best to mother”. Mortimer gave his son a firm handshake and walked out the door. Gomez turned to look around the room once more, there were already bags taking up 4 of the other beds. They must be downstairs collecting their schedules he thought. He walked over to the large window that covered half the wall. This place was going to be fun.

Morticia stood silently in line staring at the floor, her long dark hair covering her face. This is awful she thought. Sent to a place ruled by her sister who is currently ignoring her existence. Great. Morticia and Ophelia usually got on very well to the suprise of their mother, the sisters couldn’t be more different if they tried. Where Ophelia was light and cheerful, spending her free time cooking and taking judo classes, Morticia was dark and serious choosing to spend time fencing or with her carnivouras plants. However, there was the odd moments where they fought such as the time Ophelia fed one of her cupcakes to Morticias first African Strangler killing the thing immediately. Or when Morticia borrowed her sisters long red leather jacket and left it at the libary only to return and find it stolen. But this time she had no idea why they were fighting, everything was normal before they left for Nevermore. They at breakfast at the dining table in silence as usual before both sisters moved upstairs to get ready, Ophelia even let her borrow her red lipstick but as soon as everyone was downstairs and moving towards the car Morticia could sense her sisters mood had changed. She tried to start up conversation throughout the journey with no success, until her mother told her to be quiet and Ophelia gave a satisfied smirk. She didnt know what she’d done to annoy or upset her sister but it was clear that Ophelia wasn’t in the mood to be very forthcoming so she stayed silent and put her head down.

“Morticia Frump!” A voice called. She looked up to see the woman behind the desk holding out a piece of paper, she stepped forward and reached out to take it. “Your schedule.” The woman said “You’ll see you have three blank periods, one on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, these are for your elected team or group activity.” She thrust a brochier into Morticias hand. “Read through this and select which one you want to do and then tell your dorm mother, she’ll enroll you into whichever you choose.” “Okay. Thank You.” Morticia turned and headed back to her room. Unlike the boys dormitaries the girls didn’t share rooms with five other people they had either one or two roomated, Morticia didn’t know why, probably some sexist stereotype she thought as she opened the door to Ophelia Hall. She climbed the stairs to her dormitory wondering if her roomate will be there yet, her question was answered when she walked in to find a tall blonde girl unpacking boxes on the other side of the room. She spun around looking Morticia up and down. “Hello I’m Larissa” “Hi, I’m Morticia” and with that the blonde spun back around and carried on. Morticia watched her for a minute before wandering over to her desk and taking out her diary. It hadn’t even been a full day yet and she was already wishing to be back home.
