Chapter Text

Lunar was bored. He found himself just sitting on the edge of the ball pit, kicking his legs idly over the side. He wanted so badly to talk with someone, but with Earth spending most of her days training with Harvest or spending time with Chico, the daycare after closing hours was so quiet. Well, aside from the small sound of a keyboard clicking coming from the security desk.

Mars was still here, tapping away at the computer. Lunar sighed, resting his chin in his hands for a moment. He tried to think over other options, but his mind turned up blank. He definitely didn’t want to talk with Comedy Bot. Dazzle was asleep. Chico was with Earth, Andromeda was with Roxas… and Bonnie was another can of worms entirely. As it was, the only person he could possibly talk to right now was seemingly working at something on the computer across the daycare, so focused in on it that he didn’t even pay any mind to the smaller animatronic approaching the desk.

Lunar backflipped onto the desk, landing on his feet and clearing his throat awkwardly.

“So uh, Mars. Whatcha doin’?”

Mars didn’t look up from the computer, glasses reflecting the screen, making it hard to see his eyes. Lunar cleared his throat a little louder, walking forward to perch himself right in front of the computer he was working on. “Uh hello? Earth to Mars?”

“W- huh-?” Mars seemed to snap out of his focus, shaking his head and looking up at Lunar, “Ah, my apologies, Lunar. Were you saying something?” He adjusted his glasses, and now Lunar could see he had at least half of his attention.

“Was just asking what you were doing?” Lunar asked, tilting his head to get an angle of the computer screen, “You seemed like you were working on something.”

“Aha- yes, well… actually I was… indulging a little in this new game,” Mars said, clearing his own throat, “It’s a strategy game of sorts.“

“A strategy game? Yeah, that does seem up your alley,” Lunar said with a small smirk. “I’ve never seen you willingly take a break. You always seemed to be working on something new with Day and Night.”

“Well, I did just go shopping a few days ago with Earth,” Mars argued. “I’m not a workaholic, Lunar.”

“Could’ve fooled me.” The smaller animatronic shrugged. Mars sighed, massaging his temples as if he was already getting a headache from the smaller one. “Did you need something else?”

“No…” Lunar mumbled, sitting down criss-cross on the desk. “I’m just bored. Earth is off with Chico or Harvest and everyone else is— I don’t know man, I just wanted to talk to someone to be honest.”

Mars’ expression softened just slightly as he sighed. “Well… alright then. I suppose I can allow you to ramble on while I work here.”

Lunar hummed in thought. “Well, actually, if you’re not too busy, we could… I don’t know, go do something?” He rocked a little back and forth. “Like the arcades? Or maybe the theater? The food court is an option.”

“Do you really want to eat food from Fazbear?”

“Yeahhh noooo you’re right….” Lunar grimaced. Mars let out a small chuckle at this. “But, well, I suppose I wouldn’t mind leaving for a bit if you’re offering,” he answered with a small smile. Lunar sat up a little straighter, taken by surprise. “Wait, really?”

“… Yes?” Mars tilted his head. “Is there a problem, Lunar?”

“No no- I don’t know, I just thought I’d have to bargain with you? That was so easy,” he laughed.

“Aha, well, if you’re offering…”

“Nope! You already agreed, sorry.” Lunar stuck his tongue out as he stood up, hopping off of the security desk. “Come on then, Clifford. Let’s go.”

“… What did you just call me?”

“Nothing.”

Lunar made his way to the theater with Mars trailing alongside him. He climbed over the counter once inside, intending to steal some snacks.

“… Lunar, you know there is a walkway right there—”

“Shhhh! You’re gonna get us caught!” Lunar hissed, grabbing some bags of Fazbear brand chips.

“You mean you’re going to get caught. I’m not a part of your tomfoolery.” The taller red animatronic crossed his arms. “What are we doing here anyways?”

“We’re here to watch a movie, duh.” Lunar threw a bag of chips over his shoulder, somehow perfectly hitting Mars in the face. He sputtered for a moment, fixing his glasses as he looked at the bag of chips now on the ground with an offended expression. “Watch where you’re throwing those!”

“Huh? Oh, sorry,” Lunar said, snickering under his breath as he hauled all of his loot back over the counter, sneaking over to Mars with a mischievous look. “See? Didn’t get caught.”

“The staff bot is watching you,” Mars stated, gesturing behind Lunar, who froze like a deer in headlights. He slowly turned around, eyes wide as he stared at the odd looking staff bot.

“… Okay but is he looking at you or is he looking at me?”

“We’re not doing this again. It is obviously looking at you,” Mars drawled. Lunar side-stepped, but the staff bot’s gaze remained fixed in place. Right on Mars. “Yeah no, he is still looking at you man,” Lunar laughed. Mars narrowed his eyes. “It’s so… disturbing.”

“Yeah, tell me about it. Now c’mon man, the staff bot isn’t gonna snitch,” Lunar said with a smirk, before he headed further into the theater to find a seat to set his snacks in. Mars shook his head and followed behind, not wanting to be left with the weird staff bot. “Do you have a movie in mind then, Lunar?”

“Hmmm, not really? Do you like horror?”

“Can’t say I have really watched much horror… or really any movies actually, aside from that one musical Earth showed me a while ago,” Mars replied. “Other than that, I just have basic knowledge on some films.”

“Well, is there any you have a little knowledge on that you might be interested in?” he asked. Mars hummed in thought for a moment. “I suppose I may be a little curious for this one dragon training film.”

“Dragons? They’re cool, so I’m in,” Lunar said with a shrug.

“Alright, I’ll try to set up the projector then.” Mars got to work preparing the movie, before joining Lunar as he sat down next to him. The other handed him a few bags of chips. “This is all stolen, Lunar…”

“So? They’re never gonna find out,” Lunar said with a grin. “Besides, you stood by and watched while I committed the crime so you’re technically already an accomplice.”

“That’s— that’s not…”

“Sorry man, we’re partners in crime, now you have to get rid of the evidence.”

“Lunar…” Mars sighed, exhausted. He couldn’t help but let out a small laugh. “You’re certainly a menace.”

“Menace and proud!” Lunar laughed, quieting down as the movie started to play. Mars smiled a little as he opened his own bag of stolen chips, watching as the theater darkened. The two fell into comfortable silence, simply enjoying the movie.

Afterwards, Mars found himself with a new interest that he couldn’t stop talking about, and now Lunar was the listener. He wasn’t complaining, he actually had fun with Mars and could safely say his boredom had been cured.

He would definitely have to ask him to hang out again.

Notes:

I hope this wasn’t OOC! I tried my best to write them based on what I have seen in the shows. This crackship is becoming a little too serious lmao, and I do intend to write more eventually
