Hey readers! This is my first time writing a fanfic, so sorry if it's off or OOC for Wednesday or any of the other characters tbh 😭. There IS going to be more chapters, but school work is a pain in the ass and it might delay updates.! Anyways, hope you enjoy it! :P

Chapter 1: Blooming Season

Chapter Text

Wednesday’s P.O.V.

Every single one of my thoughts… Why are they so full of her? What's so special about her idiotic smile, the way she giggles at her phone, her vivacious blue eyes, her flamboyant clothes, her blonde colored hair, that ridiculous blonde hair streaked with pink and blue that frame her face so perfectly, h-

"Howdy roomiee!" The wolf exclaimed as she entered the dorm and skipped towards my side of the room

“You interrupted me, Enid.”

“It doesn't look like you were doing anything anyway..”

“It's my writing time, don't bother me” I glared at her slightly, not using my usual harsh and colder glare for some reason.

“Ughhh, whatever, I'll just update my blog, I guess..” She says as she groans and rolls her piercing, luminous eyes while walking back to her side of the room.

She's right, I wasn't truly doing anything, I just need to figure out what kind of disease I might have contracted, that's all. There's no information about it in Aunt Ophelia's book, and if I recall correctly, there was no information about it in Goody’s book either. Is this connected to psychics? If so, Doves or Ravens? Or is it just me?

I glance to my right to see Thing on my bed, he's making sure his nails are filed to utter perfection.

I get out of my chair and walk towards Thing. I stand there with my arms crossed till Thing acknowledges me.

Thing asks why I'm just standing there, I whisper to him, “We're going to the Nightshade’s hidden library tonight, once Enid falls asleep, they might have what I need.” Thing gestures to Enid and asks why I haven't asked her to join me in the library.

“If I tell her I need to go there, she'll ask questions. And if she figures out I'm sick, she might make a big deal out of it.”

It's not possible, but I could sense Thing rolling his eyes at me. Ultimately, he gave me a thumbs up, meaning that he'll join me and help me find what I'm looking for. I returned to my desk and sat down, resuming my ‘writing time’.

—————————————————————————————————————

To improve the efficiency of finding a cure or answer, I should write down some of my symptoms.. I grabbed a piece of paper and an ink pen.

“Cough”

“Fever at certain times”

“Trouble breathing”

“Throat- ”

-Cough-

My pen slips as I start coughing, I cover my mouth with my hand, leaving me to realize I've coughed up blood, and some kind of petal..? I examine the petal, it seems to belong to a black flower. At least it isn't a colorful petal..

Enid asks, “You okay, Wends?’

“I'm fine, Sinclair-.”

Unexpectedly, I start having another coughing fit, and I hide the fact that I coughed up blood; it's better for her to believe that I'm just coughing normally.

“Are you sure? You're not sick or anything.. right?”

“As earlier stated, I’m fine.”

She stays silent for a while

“...Okay, if you say so.”

I take a silent, relieved breath out as she drops the subject. I grab a tissue to wipe the blood off my hand and decide to clean the petal for further examination.

The petal belongs to a black rose, it seems to be at a floret size.

I look back at the wolf who's giggling and smiling at her phone.

Pathetic.

Yet so…
