Chapter Text

"Bakugou Katsuki comes from a really really rich family.”

Izuku holds his mother’s hand tightly as he arrives at a huge front gate, which goes on for what seems to be forever.

“They chose you because they saw you as a gentle and bright boy.”

The gates open slowly and he stares, at red eyes and ash blond hair.

“So from today onwards, you are to live with them and be Katsuki-kun’s friend.”

———————————————————————

Izuku’s been asked to wait in a huge huge room, bigger than all he’s seen. The room has a servant, and some security cameras. There’s also a really pretty whole cake on a plate. The sofa he’s sitting on is red, and really really soft. His mother is panicking and sweating, and he’s a little scared. After all, being invited into the Bakugou household is a huge thing.

He knows about the Bakugou family. They own almost everything, and their company name is on everything. The boy he saw when he was walking in seemed to be Katsuki. Wait, thats too formal. Kacchan. Shouldn’t friends have nicknames? Thats what he saw on television anyway. Will Kacchan be nice? Will Kacchan like him? Will Kacchan be his friend? He snaps his head up as a lot of people at once all enter, wearing suits and holding plates.

Or will he be another one of his servants?

He could hardly remember how his own room looked like after seeing such huge, clean rooms which looked too empty. But he still remembers how shocked his mother was when she received the phone call on the rusty old phone in his house. The only other thing they owned that was worth a little was the tiny television that Izuku watched only sometimes, because the bill was high. In his room there was a taped up broken window, and the creaky bed that he loved a lot. There was a small wooden table that was filled with doodles, and a lamp that was just lit enough to let him see in the dark. On the wall there was a poster, a poster of the person Izuku held a lot of admiration for. All Might. The symbol of peace. A Hero. Izuku’s hero. He wants to be a hero too! So he can save everyone who’s sad and needs help.

All through childhood Izuku did not really have friends. His school was a small one, and although he talked to everyone, it was hard because everyone had quirks to show off and talk about, but he kind of…had none. He wanted to be a hero, a hero with a cool quirk so that he could be like All Might. But he figured it was okay, he could be a hero without a quirk! He could still try even without one! Or something like that. He has notebooks about all the heroes he sees on the street, and on television. His mother looks at him sadly sometimes, but he doesn’t really understand. Why’s she sad?

“Hello, my name is Aizawa Shouta, and I’ll be explaining what you’ll have to do from now on.”

Izuku snaps out of his thoughts and stares. Aizawa looks kind of scary, and his hair is everywhere. Aizawa looks at Izuku and says a bunch of things that he doesn’t really get, but he nods anyway. Later, his mom tells him that he will be with Kacchan most of the time, and will only see his mother during lunch, dinner, and his days off. He’s a little sad, but his mom looks happy, so he figures that it will be alright. Another servant brings his mother out of the room as she waves cheerfully, and Izuku is directed to a room with a door probably five times his height. He brings his small bag of belongings (The All Might poster, the charm his mother gave him, and a few sets of old clothes) to another huge room. Except this room isn’t empty, and is filled with all sorts of toys and pillows. He sits down on the chair in the middle of the room, and waits nervously.

“The young master will come to see you shortly. Please take good care of him, he's not a bad kid at heart.”

Aizawa smiles a little, and although it was supposed to be reassuring, Izuku simply feels even more nervous. Aizawa leaves the room, and the silence rings in his ears. His scans around the room, and his eyes light up as he looks at something familiar. On the wall is the All Might poster he has, except its more new, and framed. Izuku looks at his own curled up poster in the bag, and suddenly feels a little less nervous. Kacchan likes All Might too! They should be friends!

Suddenly the door slams open, and Izuku flinches. Standing outside the door is the same boy he saw on his way in, except he's smirking and talking with Aizawa.

“Did you see that? I totally blew that up! Wasn’t that cool?”

“Well, for a kid your age probably. Hurry up, your new playmate is waiting.”

“But he’s weak! He doesn’t even have a quirk!”

At that, Izuku straightens up. He doesn’t have a quirk. But it’ll be okay, because Izuku knows even without a quirk he will still be Kacchan’s friend.

“Don’t be so rude. What if he doesn’t have one? His manners are better than yours and he’s probably a much nicer person. Sit down and be nice, or I’ll beat you into it.”

“Hmph. Only if he’s worth my time.”

Aizawa walks in and smiles, a little less scarier than last time.

“Sorry for the wait. This is Bakugou Katsuki, who you will be taking care of from now on. Katsuki, this is Midoriya Izuku. Please be nice, I’m too tired for your rudeness.”

Izuku breathes in deeply, and stands.

“H-Hello! My name is Midoriya Izuku, nice to meet you!”

Bakugou Katsuki at 7 years old is a boy with a lot of pride and he looks to the side.

“You know my name. You better be worth my time, or I’m not gonna bother with you, weakling.”

Katsuki gets a wack on the head.

“Bakugou Katsuki, your parents do not pay good money for good education for you to get this kind of attitude. Sorry, Midoriya. He’s a little…aggressive, I’m afraid.”

Izuku smiles, and Aizawa kneels down to whisper in his ear.

“He may be like this, but he’s quite lonely. He doesn’t go out much because his parents think that he may get bad influences, so they made me choose someone that I approve to be his friend. He doesn’t know much about the outside, and is really, really childish, but I hope you can take great care of him. I’m counting on you, because I really don’t have enough energy in this body to be running after this kid.”

Izuku nods and smiles even brighter, all sunshine and rainbows. Aizawa secretly hopes he can convert this angry dandelion to be sunshine and rainbows, too.

“Well then, I have other matters to attend to. Please behave, Katsuki, and don’t be rude. No blowing up things either, because I will make you regret it. Dinner will be in a hour, so please go down to the dining hall afterwards.”

The door closes softly, and Katsuki stares intensely at Izuku, who seems to be rather nervous. Looking past Izuku, he swiftly climbs into bed without a word.

“U-Um, do you want me to wake you up when it’s time for dinner?”

“Do what you want.”

Izuku sits back down on the chair, and sweats. He waits until Kacchan is asleep, and walks over to the bed. He gently pulls the covers on him, and closes the blinds so it isn't as bright. With a sigh, he sits back onto the chair and stares.

So a servant, huh..
