Lois’s eyes had not left Eve’s face for even a moment while Eve was talking, and they did not leave Eve’s face as she leaned in and said, “Clark and I have an understanding.”
“An understanding?” Eve parroted. A small furrow found home between her eyebrows; a small flutter in the middle of her chest.
Lois nodded. “Uh-huh.” She bumped her nose against Eve’s and, a smile lighting up her entire face, said, “I can do whatever I want.”

“He also does whatever I want.”
