Burning the Midnight Oil, Together
It was late in the rotation.
With most of Kamino deep aslumber. Even Crosshair, Hunter and Wrecker gingerly snoring away in their respective beds for the night.
But not Echo and Tech, not the dynamic duo.
The two of them still up and softly and with lowered voices chatting about, well, everything. As there really was nothing the two were not able to talk about. Ever.
The job, life, love, the future. All of it was on the table.
The two even having dared to plan their future. Together. After the war was over and all.
Daydreamers they appeared to be. But perhaps not.
Tinkering on something Tech had invented as per their usual. The task not really as important as all that. But what was important in this all, was the time the two spent together. As friends, partners and yes, as lovers too.
Having much in common, the two having hit it off from the first “who are you” spoken over the data cloud all that time ago when rescuing the thought to be KIA ARC trooper. Thankfully, Echo was alive and well, it had also become something of a passion of Tech’s to service each and every part of the ARC’s. In all possible ways.
The cybernetics, the human parts, certainly Echo’s very soul and heart. It was all on the list for Tech to do on daily bases. Several times a day even.
Tech in turn, got the same treatment from his partner. Echo. The ARC giving as good as he got. Well, servicing Tech’s brilliant mind of course but also his gorgeous body, heart and soul.
The two often found cuddled together in Tech’s bunk or then Echo’s hammock. Usually, lying there, naked, undercover after a bout of sex with one and other. As of course they did.
There was love, some of it unspoken, the need not always there to do so. But sometimes, it was needed to be said as well. Like it was tonight.
Tech, looking up from his tinkering, having just finished his thoughts while telling Echo of the Havoc Marauder’s hyperspace drive’s improvements they were to implement at a later date.
It was then, when his eyes found Echo’s staring right back at him intently. The ARC having gone all silent suddenly, but the smile on his face… was… somewhat confusing for Tech still. Not always able to read the emotions at get go.
“Something wrong, Echo?”
Echo’s smile simply grew wider.
“I love you, Tech.”
“Oh. Well, I love you too, Echo.”
As sometimes, Echo still managed to surprise the genius, with both his words and his actions.
Not that Tech did not do that too. But Echo did not have as hard a time accepting the confusion and all those loving acts of his partner’s as Tech still sometimes did.
“Good. Now…”
Echo then leaned in all the way, his lips on Tech’s. The kiss soft at first, until, it became more demanding, more heated and urgent before the need for air was there.
“Um… you want to… go to my bed?” Tech asked, shyly perhaps.
“I would not say no to such a cute invite. Ever!”
“Cute?”
“Yes, you really are that, love. Very cute indeed.”
Tech, did not blush. The straightforward and highly outspoken genius he was, did not get his face all red and blotched just because someone gave him a compliment.
Alas, Tech did do just that. Flush to the brightest of reds known to mankind.
“You really think… I am… cute?”
“You totally are, love. Too cute sometimes I fear.” Echo smiled though, at his own comment, having no doubt nor jealousy in him.
Echo then got up from his seat, offering his hand for Tech to take. Tech taking the offering, letting Echo lead him to… well, wherever he wanted to. Tech always ready to follow Echo wherever the ARC was leading him.
Taking Tech to bed, kissing him silly just before making sweet, sweet love to his partner.
It was something neither of them would easily or readily give up despite the war still raging on the outside of their love filled bubble they had built.
