NEW DEVELOPMENT IN UNKNOWN HADDONFIELD KILLER CASE
Eyewitness testimony finally gives detectives a lead
After a long year of mysterious slayings in the town of Haddonfield, New Jersey, a new lead has sprung up in the home of 13 year old boy whose parents have requested to remain anonymous.
Haddonfield has been plagued by numerous murders over the past year. The kill count has risen dramatically with little to no evidence appearing amidst the panic. The town hasn’t seen bloodshed like this since the year long massacre in 2016 that began with the slaying of 45 year old Margaret Woods, her 46 year old husband Peter Woods, and their two sons 17 and 14 year old Liu and Jeffrey Woods.
The perpetrator of these killings hasn’t been found, and investigators and police have had nothing to work off of until early this morning. On August 13th, 2021 at 5:38 AM, a 13 year old boy and his parents came forward with eyewitness testimony about the potential culprit. This is what the boy had to say:
“I woke up at like… I don’t know, around 5 AM probably to use the bathroom and get some water when I heard this weird like, shuffling in my closet. I didn’t really think about it because I assumed it was my cat or something because she likes to sleep in my room at night. When I came back to my room I saw the window next to my bed was open and that weirded me out but I just thought my mom did it earlier in the night. When I got into bed I heard the shuffling again and then my closet door started creaking like it was being opened. I opened my eyes and saw a weird like, shape in the closet. It kind of looked like a person was hunched over crouching in the doorway. He moved closer when I sat up a little more and I could just barely see him in the light from my window.”
The boy described the man as being “tall, lanky, and malnourished.” He allegedly wore a bloodstained white hoodie and dark jeans and has long, “greasy,” dark hair. His face is pale white and leathery with small burns framing it and sunken eyes. His eye color could not be discerned. The most perplexing feature described, however, was that he allegedly had “wide scars carved into both sides of his face from the corners of his mouth to his ears.” Police sent out a warning to avoid anyone matching this bizarre description shortly after.
Investigators continued to ask questions. When asked what happened after he saw the man the boy said this:
“When I saw his face I screamed and tried to get out of bed but he like, jumped on me and held me down and covered my mouth. He was kind of mumbling under his breath, all I could make out was him repeating ‘Go back to sleep’ and shushing me over and over. Then he held a knife up to my neck but before he could do anything my dad barged in with a gun, but then he turned around and ran back out the window before my dad could see him, and that’s when we called the police.”
The boy is now going through therapy to get over this traumatic incident, and we wish him well.
