They hadn’t been dating for a long time. Every “first milestone” they achieved was nerve wracking, still figuring out how the other person reacted. Yet, both of them agreed it just felt right.
Winter afternoon, a nice walk in the park. Not a lot to see, maybe just a couple of kids playing with the snow.
Sousuke was trying hard to follow whatever Makoto was saying, but the truth was that he was eager to grab his new partner’s hands. Was it silly?
“Sousuke?” Makoto suddenly stopped.
He was in trouble! He needed to think something quick, and the only thing he could come up with was to get rid of his gloves. So he put them in his back pockets, and took a deep breath.
“Are you okay, Sousuke?” Makoto got closer, wondering if he was feeling ill all of the sudden.
“My hands are cold,” Sousuke whispered.
“Huh? What was that?”
“My hands are cold, Makoto!” The moment those words came out of his mouth, Sousuke wished that the ground would swallow him.
Makoto took a quick glance at his date, and immediately held his hands. They weren’t really cold, but he wasn’t going to complain. In fact, he thought he looked so cute at that moment.
“Better,” Sousuke said, again in an almost unintelligible voice.
Makoto placed a kiss on Sousuke’s lips, and smiled.
