Mitsuki wanted to stay home.
“Oosawa-san, watch out!”
Aya jolts and takes a step back, tumbling into Mitsuki’s chest with just enough time to avoid the reckless skateboarder that nearly splashed them both. Her heart races as Aya yells.
“Oi! Watch where ya’ goin’, jerk!” She balls her hand into a fist and shakes it as they disappear into the crowd. She huffs, re-adjusts her pretty little pink costume, and tosses her hair over her shoulder—right into Mitsuki’s mouth.
Flowers. Tastes like flowers.
“Ah!” Aya gasps, spins, brushing cold fingers against Mitsuki’s painted cheeks to try and fix her non-mistake, “Sorry, sorry!! Forgot you were so close!”
Mitsuki smiles and clings to her wrist. “Don’t worry ‘bout it. Glad you’re alright.”
Aya’s expression shifts from apologetic to embarrassed in an instant, her blush even visible in the neon lights of this godforsaken halloween block party she insisted they attend.
She’s so cute.
“We’re, uh, almost there,” Aya fidgets with the hem of her frilly skirt, then outstretches a hand, “C’mon, don’t wanna miss the opener.”
Aya drags them down a filthy alley, two mismatched witches in lock-step, and they escape a crowded party to an even more crowded concert.
