Chapter Text
[Girls can't love girls, and boys can't love boys. That's how the world should be. But then why. Why did i fall in love with him?..]
Wednesday, October 19th, 2021.
It was a normal day for oh joon-yeong. He got up and put his glasses on. He got dressed into the schools uniform, ate breakfast, and headed to school.
But something had been nagging him. It has been for a while now.
He likes a boy.
He comes from a horribly religious family. Like horrible! He couldn't even celebrate Halloween growing up. That's how religious they are..
So, joon-yeong had grown up thinking being gay is wrong. He used to not even understand why another guy or girl would look at the same gender that way. But now it has caught up to him. And it feels.. strange.
When he first realized he liked wu-jin. It was like a punch to the gut. At first, he thought it was jealousy. I mean, why else would he be so envious when he talked to others. He soon realized he was jealous of the people talking to him. Not him.
He has been boiling these feelings up for a few years. Ever since middle school (9th grade). But not any more. He is going to tell one of his most trusted friends.
"CHEONG-SAN-A!" The shorter boy said, running towards him.
"Yea? What's up?" Cheong-san replied, turning around.
"Can you meet me at the snack shop after school." Joon-yeong said while panting due to the running.
"Sure! Why, though?" Cheong-san said, confused.
"I just need to talk to you, nothing crazy!" Joon-yeong said. Waving his hand dismissively.
"Okay. We can do that!" Cheong san replied. Cheong-san flashed a light smile before waking away.
[Few hours later. After school. At the snack shop]
"So what did you eagerly need to talk to me about?" Cheong-san said, looking over to joon-yeong, who was munching on some 'kancho Choco Biscuits.'
"Cheong-san-a. You're my most trusted friend. So you better not go blab about this to someone. This stays between us. Okay?"
"Awh! That's so nice, joon-yeong-a!!ㅅ3ㅅ" cheong-san says, pulling him into a bone crushing hug.
"Wait a second." Cheong-san said. Breaking the hug. "I thought wu-jin was your most trusted friend? Since when was it me?"
"I'll explain it in a second. Can you let me say what i wanna without 40 questions?..ㅠㅡㅠ" Joon-yeong says. He looks down sighs. And it looks back up.
"I like someone. But i know- no. I feel like it's wrong." Joon-yeong says," Looking down at his feet.
"What do you mean by 'i feel like it's wrong' hmm?" Cheong-san says, looking at joon-yeong and tilting his head. "Lemme guess! You're MADLY in love with jang wu-jin, and since your family is insanely religious, you believe it's wrong. wheeeeeeen, it's not!" Cheong-san says. Letting out a chuckle afterward.
"H-how did you know.." Joon-yeong said. The shock was so clear in his voice.
"Well, im sure everyone and their Halmeoni (grandma) knew... genuinely shocked you thought i wouldn't know.." Cheong-san says, letting out a big sigh.
[He had somwhat of the same talk with wu-jin. It went something this:
"Cheong-san-a!!ㅠㅇㅠ"
"Dude, what are you whinning about??"{ㅇㅡㅇ°}
"I really REALLY like joon-yeong. But.. HES FROM A HOMOPHOBIC FAMILY MEANING HE'LL NEVER LOVE ME!!" [ㅠㅇㅠ]
"Oh..?"
They ended up having a long talk. And Cheong-san? Yeah... he got threatened by wu-jin not to tell anyone.]
"Hmm.. so what is this about?" Cheong-san asked.
"You don't know? I want to ask him out, but like... you know... my parents. And he could be homo to you know!" Joon-yeong put his head down
"Im not your guys' therapist." Cheong-san muttered under his breath.
"I heard that." Joon-yeong shot Cheong-san a glare. "Anyways, what're you mumbling about?"
"He threatened me. Can't say sorry, joonieeee!ㅠㅡㅠ" cheong-san said, wiping a fake tear.
"Tell me on-jo lover4362!! I won't tell anyone!" Joon-yeong pleaded
"Sorry, joonie, im not letting someone beat my ass today.." cheong-san chuckled.
"You're practically normal. You, like a girl. You- You wouldn't get it, " Joon-yeong said. He then stood up. "You're no help. See you tomorrow." Joon-yeong about to walk away. "If wu-jin was a girl. He'd be the love of my life." Joon-yeong said, sighing before waking away.
"What was this conversation even supposed to be about?" Cheong-san muttered while scratching his head. "Im so confused." cheong-san sighed under his breath before standing up, putting his hands in his pockets and walking to his moms chicken restaurant. He had promised on-jo, i-sak, and gyeong-su that he would see whats up with oh joon-yeong and then head over.
Cheong-san didn't get it. And probably never will... That would be the case if he didn't have a girl best friend!! "Im going to ask them what that means. without saying names!ㅅ3ㅅ" cheong-san said, skipping down the street towards his restaurant.
Once cheong-san arrived, the chicken was almost done. Whatever his eomma was adding to the chicken, smelt good..
"Ahhh Shibal.[씨발.] Why did i even try to talk to cheong-san about that!? [ㅠㅅㅠ]. Su-hyeok is the one that keeps his mouth shut! Cheong-san probably already told on-jo and gyeong-su [ㅠㅇㅠ]" Joon-yeong sat down, put his head in his hands, and screamed. Not realizing that the house he was in front of had a kid doing yardwork.
The kid blinked a few times and then tilted his head. "Oh Joon-yeong?"
Joon-yeong stopped what he was doing. He recognized that voice. Joon-yeong lifted his head and looked over to him.
"Wu-jin-a!?" Life is really full of surprises, joon-yeong thought to himself.
"Joon-yeong-a, are you ok?" Wu-jin asked, voice and brain full of concern.
As much as joon-yeong wanted to scream his feelings and what happened, he stayed quiet.
"I'm fine." Joon-yeong said, standing up.
"But you were just screaming??" Wujin said very much, confused.
"I gotta go to my cram school. I'll see you tomorrow wu-jin-a." Joon-yeong said, running off.
"He talked to cheong-san, not me.
{ㅠㅅㅠ}" Wu-jin mumbled.
[With cheong-san]
Cheong-san explained the whole thing to them while eating chicken. He made sure to be careful not to say anyones names.
"And then he walked away, leaving me confused. {ㅠㅡㅠ°}"
"Cheong-san, i have known you since elementary, so i know you probably missed the point." On-jo said, sighing before taking another bite of her chicken.
"So.. Joon-yeong and wu-jin like each other? But both are oblivious to the crush?" I-sak asked.
"i think so.. wait.. HUH?? i didn't say a name... how did you know who i was talking about!?" Cheong-san asked.
"You literally told us that joon-yeong needed to talk to you. PLUS, if joon-yeong didn't like wu-jin, he would've talked to him... not you.." i-sak said with a chuckle.
"Tsk.. whatever." Cheong-san said, taking another bite of the chicken. He just knows that he is going to get caught up in this lovers quarrel..
