“That'll be $15.08. By the way, that's a sick costume you got.” The cashier said.
Patton handed him a twenty dollar bill and grabbed the bag with the sodas with his left hand. He crumpled the change and stuffed it in his pocket. “Thank you!” He said as he headed out the door.
He placed the sodas in the car and drove back to Roman's house, where the party was being held.
When he pulled up to the house, he expected sound and music to be heard outside, it was a party after all, and there was loud music when he left to go get more supplies. But instead, there was complete silence.
He got out, grabbed the bag with what he'd just bought inside and walked to the door. He opened it, leaving it to open fully. He hesitated whether to come in or not, the whole vibe was off.
When he entered, he left the heavy bag on some table and looked around the place.
It looked a lot scarier without the fun spirit of people having fun. The halloween decorations looked terrifying, at least in Patton's already scared mind. The spiderwebs. The spiders. He couldn't get close to any of them, even when he knew they were just fake plastic ones.
The whole place was silent. He could only hear his breathing and his heart that beat so fast it might pop out of his chest at any moment. Any sound made by his steps, or anytime he stepped on something that made a remotely loud sound, scared him half to death.
“Where did they go?” He whispered to himself while he looked through rooms and other places they might've gone.
But he couldn't seem to find anyone. Did they all leave and abandon him? Why wouldn't they tell him?
Right as he was about to give up and leave, he turned the corner and–
“AAAH!!” He screamed after Virgil suddenly appeared from the corner and scared him, revealing his makeup, (hopefully fake) blood dripping from his mouth and pale skin. Patton had seen it before, Virgil had been here for a while, but seeing it in this new light made it look so much scarier, especially with Patton's current state.
Virgil laughed seeing his reaction. “Sorry, pop star, thought it would be fun to do that.”
“Oh… yeah… definitely. It was fun.” He forced a laugh.
He turned the lights on, revealing Roman who had been standing in the corner the entire time. “It was Roman's idea.” He pointed his thumb at him.
His heart was still beating fast. “Okay,” he huffed out, hand on his heart. “Just don't do that again, okay?”
“Heard that, Roman?” He turned to look at him.
“Yeah, sure.” He crossed his arms. He'll definitely do it again.
