What was once a linen shirt ripped into pieces as Chan’s back grew into a monstrous shape, one where his bones rippled underneath the skin. One where his skin started to open under the push of his enlarging spine.
Cries after cries came from Chan. Pain like no other was heard in his voice, and Felix hoped he wouldn’t hear those sounds in his nightmares to come.
“Run!” Chan screamed once more, a blood-curdling tone that barely resembled his own voice.
