Summary
I’m upping the fantasy stakes between Violet and Xaden. Enter the topic of “fated mates” into the very emotionally painful first half of Iron Flame. I needed Violet and Xaden to come back to each other faster, and not under the duress of her nearly being tortured to death. This is an alternative to Chapter 20, when Violet and Tairn visit Samara and find that Mira is also stationed there with Xaden. After Mira rejects Violet’s proposals about wyvern, the feelings of hurt, guilt, and loneliness all come to a head for her, and she tries to push Xaden further away. This first chapter is heavy on dialogue, angst, and the mating bond that ties it all together. Emotional turmoil spirals into a heated confrontation, a revelation, a gutwrenchingly vulnerable and reverent Xaden, and a very passionate and possessive ending. My mate my mate my mate🔥💓. Chapter 2 will see that the possessive ending continued.
