Work Text:

Qui-Gon’s room was filled with plants. Obi-Wan went through them carefully, identifying and labeling each one, so that their next caretaker would know what they were getting into. He took some small cuttings of the herbs for himself – the rest would be given to the kitchen. The non-edible plants would be put out in the common areas for anyone to take, and if not taken, transplanted to one of the various Temple gardens.

Obi-Wan disconnected the timer on the wall. Any Jedi who kept plants used one; if not pressed after a certain number of days, it would send out an alert to an internal message board. Volunteers monitored that board, and someone would come take care of watering and tending to the in-room plants while their usual caretaker was away. An invaluable system when Jedi were regularly out for missions, that could take much longer than they initially anticipated.

But there was no sense in leaving these plants in the care of such a system, waiting on someone who would never return home again. So with the plants all labeled, Obi-Wan began to carefully haul them out, holding as many as he could manage in the air around him.
