   Summary

   It wasn’t that Shoe was probably dead that made Brooke sad, not really. The cat was very very old, and she’d given her a good life, she hoped. What made her sad is that she hadn’t gotten to say goodbye. Somehow a window in her house had been left open- Brooke didn’t remember opening one- and the cat had snuck out in the night, three weeks ago now.
