Chapter 1: Stealing
Chapter Text
Hermes was down in the underworld, yet again. Why? Why else if not to see his beloved Tiresias. Hermes found him in this cave he had, distracted. So Hermes swiftly and carefully flew over without him noticing.
The prophet seemed to be examining something, his fingers rapidly going through a few markings on a piece of paper. And, as always, Tiresias was wrapped up in his robes.
So, before Tiresias could see- well, actually, notice Hermes, the god unclasped the prophet's cloak, immediately taking it for himself.
“Hermes!”
Yelled Tiresias, noticing his cloak was gone in a beat.
“How many times have I told you NOT to steal my stuff?!”
“This is the 16th, dawling!”
Laughed Hermes, patting his lover's head.
“Just give my cloak back.”
A soft clack was heard as Hermes put on Tiresias’ cloak.
“You're unbelievable."
“You're grumpy.”
Replied Hermes, hugging Tiresias.
“You're annoying.”
“You're perfect.”
“I know.”
Hermes chuckled softly and kissed Tiresias’ head.
“You know, your stupid overused cloak smells like you.”
“What else would it smell like?”
Argumented Tiresias.
“I've been wearing it for ages!”
“Yeah, I know. And I doubt you'll get it back any time soon!”
“That's okay.”
Said Tiresias, to Hermes' surprise.
“You can keep it.”
“W-what?”
“It's a gift.”
“A-”
“Oh please, you know what a gift is.”
“You've never given me a gift before.”
“I haven't?”
“No.”
“Then this will be the first.”
Hermes, shocked at Tiresias’ sweetness, buried his face in the prophet's long, white hair.
“You're sweet.”
Muttered Hermes, flustered.
“And you're mine.”

Chapter Text
Hermes was taking a bath. Yes, in the underworld. What, not like anyone could see. The underworld gods didn’t go through Asphodel much, the souls didn’t know what was going on and the one who did… couldn’t, well, see.
But guess what? He could hear the water splashing.
”Hermes?”
“Who else, dawling?”
Asked Hermes, looking back at his boyfriend.
”You… mind if I join? Been kinda long since I last had a bath.”
Hermes smiled.
”Course I don’t mind. Come on.”
Tiresias nodded and slowly took off his robes. He was clearly self conscious, but eventually finished and got into the water. For Hermes, Tiresias was… gorgeous, to say the list. Even seeing him unclothed, Hermes wouldn’t be able to figure out his gender without the prophet telling him. His skin had this weird ghostly glow. Tiresias slowly sat down next to Hermes, looking away.
”You know, you’re beautiful.”
”You must be prettier. I mean, not like I can tell.”
Hermes leaned his head on Tiresias' shoulder.
”What do you think I look like?”
”I don’t know.”
Hermes smiled a tad. A soft smile. He took Tiresias’ hand.
“Alright, what do you feel?”
”Your hands. They’re like… light, I think. Small.”
Tiresias ran his hands over his boyfriend’s arms, to his shoulders.
”You’re strong.”
”Y-yeah, probably. I spend all day carrying messages around.”
Now, Hermes could feel Tiresias’ sleek fingers on his face and hair.
”Your hair is soft. Curly. Your lips, they’re pretty soft. Your skin, smooth. What… what color are your eyes?”
Hermes blushed.
”Amber. The- they’re amber.”
”Your face is warm. I mean, warmer than before. Are you blushing?”
”Y-Yeah, I am.”
”That’s cute.”
Tiresias’ hands were now in Hermes’ wings, caressing the feathers.
”You… you have wings.”
”I do.”
”They’re cute.”
Tiresias was now running his hands all over his lover’s body, telling him what he thought he looked like. Hermes was completely red, but enjoying the attention. After a while, they got out of the bath. Hermes helped Tiresias with his clothes, gently wrapping his robes around him.
”We should… do this more often. I- I love spending time with you, Hermes.”
”And I, with you.”

Chapter 3: Eyes
Chapter Text
Tiresias was peacefully working on his prophecies. Peacefully. Until someone showed up.
“Hermes. Why are you here?”
”I’m here to see you, obviously.”
Said Hermes, flying around Tiresias.
“Hey, Tire…”
”What.”
”Can I see your eyes?”
Tiresias froze and immediately pulled away, his hands going to the bandages he always had wrapped around his head, hiding his eyes.
”No! I mean, no. Not in a billion years, no.”
”Why?”
”Because my eyes are horrible. Ain’t no way you’re seeing them, love.”
Tiresias went quiet for a moment.
“Well, maybe… maybe I can take off my bandages. But… Can… can you take off your helmet and sunglasses too… please?”
Confused, Hermes tilted his head.
”But why? You can’t see me either way.”
Tiresias, blushing, ‘looked’ down.
“It’s just… I trust you and…”
”You want me to trust you too.”
The prophet nodded, so Hermes took off his helmet without materializing his sunglasses, his amber eyes and fluffy brown hair visible.
Tiresias stepped closer and gently cupped Hermes’ face, trying to picture what he looked like.
”You…?”
”Yeah, I’ll… I’ll take them off. Can you… can you help me? Please?”
Smiling, Hermes lightly touched the bandages Tiresias kept around his eyes.
”Sure.”
Carefully, knowing his prophet’s insecurity, Hermes unwrapped the bandages from around his lover’s eyes.
”Tiresias… How do… How…”
”How what?!”
Said Tiresias, already trying to hide his eyes again.
”How is it this bad? How do I live with this? You think I haven’t heard that before?!”
”…How are you so beautiful?”
”I- Wait, what?”
”Tiresias, you’re gorgeous.”
Hermes looked deep into Tiresias’ eyes and their beauty. They were teal, but not just the iris-all teal, with a faint, milky glow. Deep, mesmerizing. Hermes was lost in them. Last but not least, Tiresias had scars all around his eyes, almost drawing a pattern.
“I’m not- I’m not beautiful! People get scared seeing my eyes, why do you think I hid them?! I’m just… scary.”
Hermes placed a soft kiss in Tiresias’ lips.
”Scary? My gods, you’re divine.”

Chapter 4: Sleep
Chapter Text
Tiresias was tired. Well, he was always tired. But this time, he could hardly walk. And of course, he still insisted on giving prophecies, walking around, anything but sleeping. After all, Tiresias could pretend he was fine. To almost everyone, at least.
”Tiresias!”
Startled, the prophet jumped away.
”Hermes! I- didn’t hear you.”
”Huh. I wasn’t being sneaky.”
”You weren’t?”
”No.”
Tiresias sat down, running his hand through his long white hair.
“Sorry. I’m just distracted.”
”You’re tired.”
”I’m not.”
Hermes let out a sigh and sat down beside Tiresias, wrapping one arm around him. Not even a second passed before the prophet leaned on Hermes, cuddling into him.
“Not tired, huh? You need to sleep.”
”No, I don’t.”
”Tire, I’m serious.”
”So am I.”
Hermes pulled Tiresias closer.
”Hermes. Stop it.”
”Sleep.”
”No.”
With his powers, Hermes materialized his caduceus, ordering it to make Tiresias tired.
“Using the caduceus magic? Good luck making me more tired than I already am.”
”What can I do to make you sleep?”
”Nothing.”
”Cuddles?”
”…cuddles.”
And, within five minutes, Tiresias was completely curled up into Hermes and, thanks to the gods, sleeping. After a quick kiss to his lover’s head, Hermes fell asleep next to him.

Chapter Text
Tiresias was confused, to say the least. He knew Thebes had fallen, so he had run away and found some kind of pond. He drank a bit of water and, soon after, felt something painful in his chest. An arrow, maybe?
The weird thing was, a hit like that was supposed to be fatal. But Tiresias felt fine, and as far as he could tell, in the same place as before.
“Hello!”
“Who are you?! Did you shoot me?!”
“No, I didn’t shoot you. My brother did!”
“And where’s the bastard?”
“I don’t know how you know he’s a bastard, but he’s up in Olympus. Anyways, I’m Hermes.”
Tiresias took a step back in fear.
“Lord Hermes. Why are you here?”
“Well, I’m a psychopomp, ain't I, dawling?”
“I’m no ‘dawling’”
Said Tiresias, making quotation marks in the air.
“The thing is you’re dead. Ready to go?”
“I’m WHAT?!”
“Dead!”
Informed Hermes, voice cheerful as ever.
“I don’t want to go to the underworld!”
“Why not?”
Out of patience, Tiresias tried to list the many reasons.
“I don’t know anyone, shades are boring, I don’t know there and I don’t think I can rely on my senses to guide me in the land of the dead.”
Hermes thought for a minute, trying to find solutions.
“You know me, I’m not boring, I know the underworld and can show you around!”
“You’re insufferable, so no.”
“It’s me or being alone forever.”
“Alright, fine. But you gotta promise to visit… once a week.”
Hermes laughed.
“I promise. By the River Styx.”

Chapter Text
As soon as Tiresias woke up, he knew something was wrong. And as he heard the sound of wings fluttering nearby, he was sure something was wrong.
Why? Well, Tiresias was… seeing stuff. He figured that out by seeing a faint trace of light peeking from under his bandages. As he took them off, the view of the underworld unfolded before him.
“Wow.”
“Hey Tiresias! Like the gift I got you?”
“You… you made me see?”
“Who else, dawling?”
Shocked and crying, Tiresias hugged his boyfriend, no words to describe his gratitude for having his sight back.
“Thank you… Thank you so much… How’d you even…?”
“My dad runs the universe. It’s easy to get what I want.”
“Gods, you’re the best. The very best.”
For only a moment, Tiresias pulled away, seeing Hermes for the first time.
“You’re… even more beautiful than I imagined.”
“I know.”
Chuckled Hermes, holding Tiresias’ hand.
“By the way… how are your eyes? Still teal? Did the scars vanish?”
“Why are you asking me that? You can see me.”
Hermes chuckled again, nervously this time.
“Have you ever heard that saying? An eye for an eye?”
“Hermes. Did you…?”
With a snap of Hermes’ fingers, the god’s sunglasses disappeared, showing gray, lifeless eyes.
“Yeah. My dad said that he could give you your sight back, but he’d take mine instead. I agreed.”
“Hermes, what the hell?!”
“It made you happy.”
“You’re crazy. Said Tiresias, shaking his head in disbelief.
“Crazy for you.”

Chapter 7: Hair
Chapter Text
Tiresias was in the underworld as always. He was bored, nothing to do. Until, of course, the winged menace of Olympus decided to show up.
“Helloooo Tiresias!!”
“Hermes.”
“What are you doing, what are you doing, what are you—”
Hermes was cut off by a kiss.
“How’d you even find my mouth?!”
“Because you don’t shut up. I just need to know where the noise comes from.”
“Noise?”
“Noise.”
And just like that, Tiresias turned around, flipping his long white hair in Hermes’ face.
“Heyy Tiresias! Can I braid your hair?!?!”
“Do you even know how to braid hair?”
Hermes rolled his eyes.
“My best friends are Apollo and Aphrodite, of course I know how to braid hair.”
“…fine.”
Tiresias sat down on a rock, hair cascading down his back. Gently, Hermes ran his fingers through the strands of Tiresias’ hair.
“What do you want me to do?”
“I don’t know. Anything.”
“Okay.”
With a flick of his hand, Hermes materialized some teal hair ties. First off, Hermes started with a normal ponytail. And another. And another, until the end.
It ended up as a kind of ponytail with multiple sections.
“You’re beautiful,” said Hermes, nuzzling into his boyfriend.
“You’re so beautiful.”
Notes:
I got to make Hermes play with Tiresias hair yesssss
Chapter 8: Wings
Chapter Text
Tiresias knew his day was going to be interesting when he heard the sound of wings flapping.
“Hermes. Why are you here?”
“You still ask? To see you!!!”
“Alright. So can you stop flying? The flapping is getting annoying.”
In response, the flapping of Hermes’ little wings got louder, so Tiresias had the most natural response ever. He reached over to his boyfriend and grabbed the wings in his hand, forcefully pulling him down.
“Ow ow ow!! Tiresias, they’re sensitive, Tiresias stop it!!”
Cried Hermes, trying to get away from his lover. Seeing him cry, Tiresias immediately let go of Hermes’ little wings, the god stepping back in fear, even his breathing giving away how terrified he was.
“Hermes?”
“My wings hurt… so much…”
Shaking, Tiresias approached Hermes, hugging him.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry… I didn’t know it would hurt you.”
“I-it’s okay…”
Muttered Hermes, leaning into Tiresias’ embrace.
“No, it’s not, I hurt you!”
Gently, Hermes took Tiresias’ hand and guided it to the little wings.
“Be careful, please!!”
Tiresias nodded and slowly ran his fingers through the little wings. The were soft, like silk. The prophet gently touched the feathers.
”Gods, I’m so sorry. I love you so…”
”I love you too, my prophet.”

Chapter 9: Food
Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
There was one thing Hermes could never understand about Tiresias- How the hell could he live without food. Yes, he was not technically alive. And yes, he didn’t need food. But still, Hermes couldn’t understand. So, one day, he asked his lover if he liked sweets. Tiresias… he took a long time to answer. A faint ‘yes’.
So Hermes had something special with him this time- candy.
“Tiresiaaaas! Guess what I got you!”
”Please tell me it doesn’t make noise.”
”It doesn’t”
Hermes took Tiresias’ hand and placed a candy in it.
“Candy. Didn’t exist when you were alive, but… guessing you knew it would exist?”
”I did.”
”Knew it. Anyways, it’s sweet. As sweet as you, love of my life.”
Tiresias let a faint smile creep into his lips and slowly put the gum into his mouth.
It was sweet.
Really sweet.
Tiresias loved it.
He hadn’t tasted anything in… what, centuries? Maybe even thousands of years. It reminded him or her of their life, even all the confusing gender changes.
“Hermes… wow. Thank you. I… I feel like I’m… alive.”
Tiresias hugged Hermes, the god placing a kiss in his boyfriend’s or girlfriend’s head.
“How about this? I can bring you more food. Anything you want, to make you feel alive again.”
”Gods, yes. Please. You know, I don’t know if you know but I had two daughters. Never saw them again after I… you know, died.”
”Yeah, I knew that. But not much. What are their names?”
“Manto and Historis. Manto had the same… curse as me. She could see the future. Gods, that must have been awful for her.”
”If I may ask… who’s their dad?”
Tiresias chuckled, lightly pushing his/her lover.
“You nosy bastard, you know I love you!”
”I’m curious!”
”Being honest? I don’t remember him very well. I think we were married for a few years? But I don’t remember much about my life, except for my daughters.”
”Buuuuuut… I’m the one you Ike now, riiiiiiight?”
“Yeah, you idiot. You’re the one.”
Tiresias pressed a kiss to his mouth.
”The only one.”

Chapter Text
Hermes was having an amazing, perfect, 10/10 day.
Why?
Tiresias was clingy.
Hermes didn’t know why, but the prophet wouldn’t let go of him. Obviously, Hermes loved that, the way Tiresias had spent the whole night cuddling up against him.
“Hey, love?”
“What?”
“You are so cute.”
“Shut up.”
Muttered Tiresias, nuzzling closer to his boyfriend.
“What’s gotten into you?”
“What do you mean?”
“You’re always oh-so-mean and now suddenly you’re like… a teddy bear!”
“Teddy… what?”
“You… didn't predict those?”
“I don’t see everything.”
“More like don’t see anything-”
Whispered Hermes, getting a punch in the gut in response.
“You are a terrible boyfriend/girlfriend/whatever you may prefer right now.”
“You deserved it.”
“I did.”
Hermes placed a kiss on Tiresias’ head.
“You’re tired?”
“A little.”
“I’m a good pillow.”
Said Hermes, burying his face in Tiresias’ neck, the god’s little wings fluttering in happiness.
“Love you.”
“Love you too, little chaos prophet.”

Chapter Text
When Hermes went down to the underworld, he didn’t know what he expected to see.
It definitely wasn’t Tiresias dancing. Worse, dancing with Hermes’ grand grandson, Odysseus.
Hermes was a little hurt. I mean, Yiresias had never danced with him. And now suddenly he was dancing with stupid Odysseus?! Oh, ain’t no way.
As swiftly as he could, Hermes flew over to them. He was careful- wing flapping would give him away and Odysseus would spot Hermes if he saw him. So the trickster god approached them and, as soon as he could, pulled on Ody’s cape, making him fall backwards. And yet again, Hermes sprinted away.
During the next month, Hermes still visited Tiresias, once a week. But he didn’t say much. Just a classic ‘Hi dawling! Bye!’ And left. Obviously, Hermes was about to pull the same maneuver when someone grabbed his ankle.
”Oh, you’re not fucking going. You tell me what’s going on right now. Or else I pull your foot wing off.”
Rolling his eyes, Hermes flew back down to Tiresias.
”Nothing’s going on.”
“Spill it.”
”Fine! I saw you dancing with Odysseus for no reason and you don’t even know him but you’re literally dating me and you’ve never danced with me and- shit, I’m jealous.”
”No shit, Sherlock. You’re jealous as hell.”
“No shit… what?”
”Future slang. Anyways, that was what you were mad about?!”
”…yes…”
”You are such a drama queen. Almost worse than your brother and that one killed over some water. But… I guess you’ve earned a dance with me.”
Tiresias took Hermes’ hand, placing it on his or her waist, before placing their own hand on Hermes' shoulder.
Their previously free hands were now together as Tiresias guided them around the underworld. It was so beautiful that even a soft song started playing. Of course, that seemed to annoy Tiresias (At this point, the question is what DOESN’T annoy Tiresias).
”SHUT THE FUCK UP, YOU SUNNY BASTARD!”
Yelled Tiresias to… nothing in particular. The music immediately stopped, Hermes bursting into laughter.
”Also, Tiresias. Never dance with Ody again. Like, ever again.”
”Don’t ruin the moment.”
And the two shared a soft kiss.
Notes:
Also I’m pretty sure I’m slowly allowing Tiresias and Hermes (Let’s be honest, it’s basically just Tiresias) to swear. I don’t know why I didn’t let them swear at first I rated this as teen and up I can make them swear as much as I please.
Chapter 12: Modern
Chapter Text
When Hermes went down to the underworld, he didn't expect to see Tiresias laying down as if sleeping.
"Tiresiassss!!! Are you sleeping?? Did I wake you?!"
“Wasn’t sleeping.”
Muttered Tiresias, annoyed.
”Also, stay quiet. I was listening to a podcast.”
”A what?!”
Hermes sounded extremely confused, making Tiresias laugh.
”It’s a thing from the future. Basically people talking.”
”Oh. Cool. And how are you listening to your pod… mob- not, pod- Whatever.”
”I may or may not be using my powers for my own entertainment…”
Hermes gasped, dramatically.
”I thought you didn’t use your powers for that!”
”Newsflash, I lied.”
”News- what?”
”Seriously, if you ask what I’m saying one more time I will yeet off the underworld!”
”Hey, I heard yeet before! From one of Odysseus’ crewmates!”
”Then what does it mean?”
“Drop…?”
”Almost. Violently throw very far. But it was close, so I’ll give you that.”
“Alright Tiresias, can we agree on something?”
”What?”
”No future slang without explaining next to me.”
Tiresias leaned closer, placing a kiss in his boyfriend’s nose.
”Fine. But only if I get cuddles.”
For a response, Hermes wrapped his arms around his prophet, for once making him smile.

Chapter 13: sick
Chapter Text
Tiresias didn't even know how, but he had managed to get sick. Tiresias wasn't even aware of the fact that ghosts could catch the damn flu.
"Tiresias~~~! You there?"
Tiresias could hear the annoying wing flapping sound, going around his cave.
"HA! Found you! Also I'm kinda stuck here in the rocks, can you help me? "
"I would, but mh head feels like it's splitting in half and I don't think I can walk."
Groaned Tiresias, his pronunciation a little fucked up because of his running nose.
"You have the flu? How can ghosts get sick?"
Asked Hermes. He put his hand in Tiresias' forehead, so the prophet assumed he had teleported himself out of the rocks.
"You're burning up... I mean, you're still cold, but not like... freezing."
Gently, Hermes ran his fingers throught Tiresias' pure white hair.
"Want me to get you a drink? Milk? Tea? What do you even like?"
"Surprise me."
"Okay. Be right back, don't worry!"
Hermes disappeared, but in about fifteen minutes, reappeared.
"Here you go! Guess what it is!"
In his hands, Tiresias could feel something warm, the smoke rising up to the prophet's face. He took a sip.
"Green tea. With... milk?"
"It's called a matcha latte and it gives off cryptic prophetic vibes, so..."
"It's really good."
Tiresias didn't even take a minute to finish it, the cup vanishing as soon as he was done with the drink.
"Hey, Tiresias. You know gods can't get sick?"
"Are you asking for cuddles?"
Hermes let out a resignated sight before Tiresias opened a little more space in the bed beside him.
"Come here."
Immediatelly, the two were curled up.
"You still have that headache?"
"That one, no. Got a new one now."
"Is it bad?!"
"I'm talking about you, moron."
"I'm not a headache!"
Protested Hermes, just as he was kissed by Tiresias.
"Shut up and cuddle with me."

me totally not finding a way to sneak my favourite drink in here-
Chapter 14: Bird
Notes:
Bird is like such a random word but of course Tiresias can talk to birds so…
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Tiresias loved spending time with Hermes. More than anything. Because, well, his whole life was spent with almost no company. The only exceptions being people Tiresias hated and, of course, her daughters.
But other than that, no one. Until Tiresias got to the underworld and met Hermes. To his own surprise, Tiresias easily fell in love with the stupid god, and loved being with him at all moments of his existence. But the moment Hermes left the underworld, Tiresias was alone again.
“Tiresias!”
”Huh?”
”You zoned out! Anyways, I got you a giiiift!”
”A gift?”
By the noise of wings, Tiresias figured Hermes was nodding. That’s the moment the prophet heard a soft, melodic voice.
”Hi!”
”Who- who’s that?!”
”Tiresias, calm down. I was guiding a soul here when I found this little one…”
Hermes placed the soft but cold bundle on his boyfriend’s hand, Tiresias immediately knowing it was a bird soul.
”You have no one to talk to when I’m not here, and you can talk to birds! So why not?”
”I…”
Tiresias held the birdie closer, the little thing curling up to Tiresias.
”Best… best gift I ever got.”
”I know you so well!”
“You really do.”
The birdie chirped.
”What did he say?”
”He said ‘cute’.”
”You’re cute.”
”And you’re perfect.”

Chapter 15: Work
Chapter Text
Tiresias was, to say the least, absolutely pissed off.
Because guess what? Stupid Hermes was so overworked he hardly gave Tiresias any attention. And Tiresias loved attention.
The prophet’s thoughts were cut off by wings fluttering. It was Hermes, voice clearly strained from flying around too much.
”H-hey… Tiresias-! I- i have about… fifteen seconds before I have a delivery… OH SHIT I GOTTA GET THAT PACKAGE TO ZEUS BEFORE TOMORROW AND OH MY ME, APOLLO AND DIONYSUS ARE GOING TO METAPHORICALLY KILL ME IF I DON’T GET THEM THEIR STUFF-“
”Hermes.”
Not listening, Hermes kept muttering, trying to find some kind of time in his immortal schedule.
”Hermes!”
The god still didn’t listen, so Tiresias grabbed his shoulders.
”HERMES!”
”Huh…?”
”Hermes, you’re overworked. Like, really overworked. Just rest.”
”You? Telling me to rest? Oh the hypocrisy…”
Tiresias, without a moment of hesitation, slapped his boyfriend’s face.
”Hermes. Before you even try to ask me why I did that, I was knocking some sense into you because you clearly lack it. You’re way too overworked, I mean, how much free time do you have for the next ten years?!”
Hermes paused and did a quick math in his fingers.
”About… three seconds, at most.”
”So time will you use to spend with your friends? And what time will you use for me?”
”I…”
”So listen to me, Hermes. You are going up to Olympus, show your dad the finger, and get yourself some time off.”
”I really shouldn’t do that. Last time Uncle Fish tried to defy my dad, he… didn’t end well.”
”I don’t mean it literally, I mean it like… get yourself some rest. Please.”
Hermes didn’t even need to see his boyfriend’s eyes to know that he was worried. So worried. Because he didn’t want Hermes to lose himself in deliveries, to stop having time for all that made him… well, him.
”Alright. I will. But before I get up there, how about I give you some cuddles. I guess you deserve it for y’know… telling me how crazy with work I was.”
Tiresias smiled and pulled Hermes into a tight hug, kissing his cheek. Until, in a few moments, Tiresias stopped hearing the sound of Hermes’ wings flapping.
”Hermes?”
No answer.
”You fell asleep. You absolute dork, you fell asleep. Never, overwork yourself again, alright? Never.”
Whispered Tiresias to his lover before setting him down on a bed and falling asleep next to him.
Notes:
Overworked ‘nah, its fine’ Hermes x worried ‘Go the fuck to sleep’ Tiresias is a trope i can never have enough of.
Chapter 16: Hug
Notes:
Why are the simplest things the hardest to writeeeeee
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Tiresias didn't have a good day. Some monster guy or whatever had literally gone to the fucking underworld just to annoy Tiresias. And after that, the prophet had somehow managed to come across the soul of freaking Oedipus. And even with the beautiful irony of him being blind too, Tiresias still despised him.
So after that amazing day, Tiresias wasn’t in the mood for anything.
Especially not a hug.
Of course, Hermes had other plans.
”Hi Tiresias!!!!!”
”Oh, great! The stupid bird that I hate is here too!”
”Bad day?”
Tiresias didn’t answer.
”…Want a hug?”
”No. Most definitely no.”
“You sure?”
”Yes I’m sure!”
Yelled Tiresias, running out of his cave. He ran for a long time, not caring where he was going until he almost reached Hades’ palace. Only then did Hermes reach him.
”Tiresias. What happened?”
”Go away.”
”But… I want to help you.”
Hermes slowly flew over to his boyfriend and wrapped his arms around him. Tiresias wanted to push him away, but… he didn’t. He just… he just hugged him back.
”You needed that, didn’t you?”
Tiresias blushed.
”Mayyyybe.”
Both let out a soft chuckle, and shared a kiss.
”You know… you were right. Thanks.”
”I love you.”
”I love you too.”

Chapter 17: Cold
Chapter Text
As far as Tiresias knew, all ghosts were cold. Obviously, Tiresias was no exception to that and he, she, whatever, was freezing cold.
And well, Tiresias had never actually touched other gods besides Hermes (was blinded and killed by them, yes. But touched? Never.) so he had no way to know if, like the trickster god, they were literally hot.
But well, Tiresias knew Hermes was. Because of that fact, even holding his boyfriend's hand was weird. Hot and cold, two opposites that somehow... felt good together.
"Hi!"
"Hermes. I suppose you're here to annoy me?"
"Obviously!"
In a moment, Hermes flew over to Tiresias and hugged him.
He was as warm as always, Tiresias leaning into him in hope of, just for a moment, get rid of the cold of the underworld.
Meanwhile, Hermes couldn't help but pull Tiresias closer, loving the cold from him.
They kissed.
"Huh, just like kissing a block of ice."
"Oh, fuck you, Hermes!"
Both laughed, Hermes' wings fluttering in hapiness.
"You dork! I love you."
"Love you too, block of ice."
"Shut up."
Laughed Tiresias, giving his Hermes a kiss.

Chapter Text
Tiresias was pretty mad at himself. Hermes had been visiting him for a long time, and he was so annoying that Tiresias wanted to yeet him off a tower.
But well… the prophet had grown used to him. And now when Hermes showed up, Tiresias’ non existent heart would do this weird fluttering thingy in his chest.
And as much as Tiresias would like to deny it, it was love.
Obviously he didn't say a word to Hermes. What would he even say?! ‘Hi I'm in love with you?’
No way! Better to be fake.
So of course Tiresias was shocked when Hermes flew down to the underworld and, flying down to Tiresias…
“Hi. I'm in love with you!”
He said.
Tiresias paused.
“I'm sorry, what?”
“I'm in love! With you! Wait, ghosts are capable of loving, right?”
“Yes, Hermes. They are. And what do you mean you're in love?! I…”
“Youuu…”
“I- was maybe, perhaps, by a chance waiting for a chance to… say the exact same thing…”
Hermes took Tiresias’ hands, pulling her into a hug. She almost laughed. Almost.
But instead he leaned closer and kissed Hermes.
“Wow.”
“I'm a great kisser, stupid bird.”
“I noticed.”
Muttered Hermes, bright red.
“So… we're dating?”
“Fine, we are.”

Chapter 19: "I love you"
Chapter Text
Hermes and Tiresias had been dating for… honestly, it was hard to tell. But about two years, they’d say.
Hermes was sure he loved Tiresias. Everything about him, even when he was in a bad mood and wanted to kill everyone. But Hermes had never told Tiresias he loved him.
Tiresias… wasn’t that sure he loved Hermes. I mean, surely he liked him romantically. But could it be considered… love? He wasn’t sure.
But right now he was focused on Hermes.
The god was right there, curled up against Tiresias. He was asleep, but Tiresias was pretty sure he’d wake up soon — that god was never sleeping for long. Hermes’ little wings flapped excitedly as he yawned and woke up.
“Hi!”
“Hey, sweetie.”
Smiling, Hermes curled up even closer to his boyfriend.
“You’re so cute.”
“So are you.”
"I love you."
Tiresias paused.
"Excuse me you what?"
Hermes stopped for a moment, staring at Tiresias.
"OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT I DIDN'T MEAN TO SAY THAT OH MY GODS"
"You... you just said you love me?"
"I mean... I... I do..."
Tiresias smiled, and pulled Hermes closer.
"You're a cutie."
"So are you."
"I... I'll think about it alright?"
"About what?"
"About what you said. And I promise you... that if I do feel the saem, I'll tell you."
"Okay. Take your time, my prophet."

Chapter 20: Moly
Notes:
“Moly” that must be what my friends were on to come up with this prompttttt
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Tiresias knew something was wrong the moment Hermes set a foot (or wing) in the underworld. Because, Hermes was, somehow, even more hyperactive than usual (Tiresias had been dating him for years and did not know that was even possible).
The thing is, Hermes… refused to tell his boyfriend what had happened for him to be in such a good mood.
“Seriously, birdie. What happened?”
“Nothing! Nothing important anyways! I was chilling with my bro Ody!”
”Hermes. You had never achieved this level of hyperactivity before. So you better tell me what the hell is going on before I decide to look into your past myself.”
”First off… you cannot really look at anything-“
Tiresias facepalmed, and glared at… where he thought Hermes was.
”Wow. So funny.”
”And secondly, can you ‘look’ into my past?!”
”I can try!”
”So… no?”
”Never tried, actually.”
Hermes flew closer, grabbing Tiresias’ hands and pulling him into the air.
”Come on, T! Have fuuuuun!”
”HERMES YOU STUPID BIRD PUT ME DOWN I SWEAR-”
”Nooooooooo!”
Tiresias, without much choice, tried to wiggle free of Hermes’ grasp. But, of course, that was hard in midair. Still, he eventually succeeded, landing on the floor with a thud.
”T! You okay?! I didn’t, like, MEAN to drop you-!”
”It’s okay… I think. But seriously, WHAT ARE YOU ON?!”
”…Moly.”
”You’re kidding me.”
”Ehhhh…”
”YOU’RE KIDDING ME.”
”Look, I’m sorry!”
”I- I guess it’s… not that bad for you. Since you’re immortal and I’m pretty sure you can’t get sick or anything… But it would definitely make you, me and your family happier if you stopped with the moly.”
“Alright, fine. For you… but I can still deal it to my Ody right?”
”…fine. But you owe me a date. Promise?”
”Promise.”

Chapter 21: Date
Notes:
Is it a direct continuation of last chapter? Idk, y’all think what you want
(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)
Chapter Text
Tiresias had to admit he was pretty excited for that day… whatever day it was. Hermes had said he’d take him on a date, and Tiresias was very much looking forward to that.
”HIIII cutie prophet!!!! You ready?!”
Tiresias took Hermes’ hand.
”Yes.”
”You… You look gorgeous. And… the same as always. You need more clothes.”
”Shut up, I know. But I bet you're also wearing the same thing as always.”
”Fine, I am.”
Both laughed.
”So… where are you taking me?”
”Well, you can’t really leave the underworld. But I talked to uncle antisocial and he allowed me to take you any place I want as long as it’s in the underworld. So I was wondering if you’d like to meet Elysium?”
Tiresias’ jaw dropped, his cheeks bright red.
“Yes. Oh gods, yes. You… you are amazing.”
”I know.”
Hermes flew a little, not too high so Tiresias could easily keep up while walking. Eventually, they reached Elysium.
”Are we here…?”
”Yeah, we are.”
”The air is… cleaner, almost.”
”Yeah, there’s a few plants here, so I suppose the air is cleaner.”
Still flying, Hermes dragged Tiresias to a park. The prophet could easily feel the soft grass beneath his feet.
“Wow… This is… perfect.”
”And it gets better! I prepared some food!”
”You prepared?”
”…Hestia and Demeter did.’
”Knew it.”
Both sat down, Tiresias leaning his head on Hermes’ shoulder. Laughing, the god handed his boyfriend a blueberry muffin, which he loved. And that was their day. Eating muffins and sandwiches, laughing, being together.
But just like any day, it had to end. Hermes took Tiresias back to the spot he liked in Asphodel, and said goodbye with a kiss in his head.
“So… see you next week?”
”Yeah. Love you, birdie.”
”Love you too.”
