Chapter Text
> “A story?”
Zeus’s voice was quiet, almost reluctant.
Hebe curled beside him, her golden curls tangled in his robes, eyes wide with sleep and curiosity.
she whispered. “Tell me one about before.” her voice was soft almost melodic. "Before you, before Olympus."
He hesitated. Then he began.
“Before Olympus, before the gods, before even the Titans… there was Chaos. Not a storm. Not a scream. Just silence. The breath before creation.”
“From her came the first children—Primordials. Nyx, Eros, Pontus, Chronos, Erebus, Gaia, Tartarus and Anake. They were not gods. They were much older than us. Concepts. Forces. And they watched as our predecessors the Titans, rose and fell.”
“After the first war—the Titanomachy—Chaos wept. She had lost too much. Rhea, the mother of gods, was dead. Krios, the silent general, was shattered and left to die by his brothers. And later Odysseus, a too clever mortal, had wandered too far from his fate.”
“So Chaos did what no one expected. She reached into the void and pulled them back.”
“She bound their souls to the sea, to Poseidon’s blood. She gave them new names. New bodies. New lives.”
“Triplets. Born mortal. Rhea, Krios, and Odessa.”
“But Chaos wasn’t done. She scattered more souls across time. Hyacinthus and Icarus became Cyrus. Crocus became Elian. Psyche… well, she remained Psyche. Some souls are too stubborn to change. It wasn't just them who she gathered, she also gathered Achilles, Patroclus, Helen, Cassandra and Diomedes”
Zeus paused, watching Hebe’s breathing slow.
"They were her final creation. Not gods. Not demigods. Something in between. They were the first godkillers. Threads woven through time.”
“And though they didn’t know it yet, they were destined to shake Olympus.”
He leaned down, kissed her forehead.
"Sleep well, little goddess. Tomorrow, I’ll tell you how they remembered. But remember this—” His voice dropped to a whisper.
“Ichor is thicker than water. And Chaos never forgets her bloodline.”
